Alberta and Randy Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 LEII 2015, Hull 67 I'm flummoxed on how to insert the screen into the rear emergency exit window. The red handles that allow the window to open impede inserting the screen into the track, how & where I think it goes. We bought the trailer used and the screen was not in the rear window at the time of purchase. Can anyone tell me how to do this please? 1 Alberta & Randy 2015 LE II / 2016 Chevy 2500 WT
Moderators topgun2 Posted May 12, 2022 Moderators Posted May 12, 2022 Put it in as close to the handle as you can and then - once it is in - you can "slide" it into position. Bill 2 2023 Ford F150 Lariat 3.5EB FX4 Max Towing, Max Payload, 2016 Oliver Elite II - Hull #117 "Twist" Near Asheville, NC
rangered Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 Alberta and Randy, I had the same problem trying to figure out how to reinstall the egress window screen. The screen is mounted outside the widow channel using four metal clips. The clips snap into the edge of the plastic channel. Just hold the screen in place and push until you hear it snap. It took me several frustrating minutes to figure it out. 2 Alan & Judy Strawberry Plains, TN 2021 Oliver Elite II Hull 759 2023 F250 STX 6.8L Gas

However, my son was with me. He's an engineer. He installed it for me. I don't remember how. I have his number. Moderators topgun2 Posted May 13, 2022 Moderators Posted May 13, 2022 Seriously - a very small amount of wax, silicone, WD-40, petroleum jelly, etc on each of those 4 tabs will go a long way in helping to "snap" the screen back in place. I always place the bottom in first and then tap the top of the screen near where those spring tabs are until it snaps in. Alberta and Randy Posted May 13, 2022 Author Posted May 13, 2022 Thanks for all the feedback ya'll! I did not comprehend that the screen had those little silver extensions that snap to the frame. Must pay closer attention to details next time, they matter! Screen is in place and seems to be functioning. The screen is missing one of the top silver extensions, but still seemed to attach.
