  1. We have the Elite single axle Oliver. We installed the K71-358-00 heavy duty suspension kit from Dexter and it sure has made the trailer more sturdy. We have owned the trailer for 1-1/2 years with maybe 6000 miles on it. The plastic bushings were worn through on one spring eye. We are glad the new kit is installed. We like the ability to grease the spring bushings. This should make the trailer handle rough roads, etc. a lot better.

  2. My wife is pretty talented with a needle and custom fabricated a shower curtain to fit the curve of the trailer. The curtain covers the door, and the toilet area. We bought the track from the above mentioned curtain tracks and stuck it to the fiberglass with Velcro. The track came with slides imbedded into a groove and I attached the shower curtain to the slides with zip ties. We had showers in the Ollie for the first time this Summer and the curtain works great. I would send some pics but the area is so confined I CAN't get a good angle. As far as the price, I agree...they have become rather spendy, but you can buy the base trailer for about $50,000 if you leave off some of the options. I imagine Oliver will keep raising prices until people stop ordering trailers.

  3. I'm with you. To me, it seems like a flexible track for a curtain that covers both the door and the toilet area should be standard. You need someplace to stash a towel - and keeping the door dry so that it doesn't drip all over the floor when you open it seems like a must.

  4. What they did for Buzzy is really nice looking, but obviously that hardware is expensive. What they've done in the past is to use a flexible track, so you might ask them about those and why they don't do that anymore. You might try here if you're looking for something less expensive...http://www.curtain-tracks.com If you want the same look as what Buzzy has, you might take a look at www.sea-dog.com or another marine supplier and see if you can piece together what they did and then install it yourself.

  5. Hey Gang! I just completed two small... very small ... mods on the Flying Sea Turtle. I added a second Ruggid RV Rug to the steps and installed EZE Gutters. EZE Gutters - These have been very extensively posted about and Thanks to all who shared their wisdom. I can add that I chose to run the gutters all the way down the sides for each of the three big windows. I ordered two 10' pieces and cut the needed length from each to do the windows above the bunks with a single piece. For the window over the dinette, I used two pieces with a splice in the middle top of the window. Not enough left over to do the bathroom window and that was just fine for me... Bathroom gets wet anyway. Alcohol to clean before putting the gutters on, and now they are on tight! We all know what they look like so i wont post pics on this. Ruggids RV Step Rugs - We bought one of these on the road and liked it so much that I sent away to Camping World for another. They install easy with the provided LARGE Zip Ties. We all know how easy the steps on Ollie get dirty and how hard they are to clean. These look nice, help keep dirt in the trailer down and even reduce the noise of folding the steps a bit. Pictures attached. They are about $19 each from CW. Safe travels everyone! Scotty .... and Donna who is napping on the couch... and the FST... and the Blue Whale. Later!
