  1. According to GM they are weighed after the build. It’s nice to see all the ratings on the sticker I’ve haven’t seen this before. The redesigned frames are impressive. 2022 GMC Denali 2500 Duramax 18500 towing 3700lbs payload vs 2017 highcountry 2500 Duramax 13500 towing 27900 payload, big difference.
  2. I forgot to mention my last Duramax Mpg 14-16 towing the Oliver 21mpg no towing climbs steep hills at only 1500-2000 rpm range barely working the engine. The engine braking you’ll barely touch the brakes.
  3. If you want a gas truck look at the GMC Denali 1500 6,2 with tow pkg. 13,5 k towing very impressive. More than you need. If you want to jump to the Denali 2500 go all the way with the Duramax very much overkill tow rating 18,500. Lbs 450 horse power 900+ torque. The problem once you go that route with the Duramax its hard to go back as I did. It is $9700.00 more for the Duramax IMO its worth it.
  4. Airstream trailers are still much higher priced, and they are still selling. If you have the finances your going to buy. I almost walked away at my 2019 price @ 62k I personally wouldn’t pay the new price. It is a well built trailer but still a small trailer. There are new upcoming trailers hitting the market that will give Oliver a run for the money.
  5. Thanks for all the members help.
  6. My Oliver 2019 doesn’t have the solar panels, but does have all the options for the 2019 model 4 agms 2000 watt inverter. I still can’t get it to click on all the charging tech numbers amp hours etc. Question My new TV has a 400watt outlet in the rear bed. I have the adapter 110 to 30 amp cord for the trailer. Will this kick on the charging system and charge the battery’s. I’m sure the rate will be slow and the truck will have to be running. So what is the math probability of this? Just thinking if all else fails generator, shore power etc. Thanks
  7. I’ve had some experience with this type of problem and how to handle it to come out on top. This would have been a hard case to win considering everything that is going on. It’s a long dragged out process. I fought once before and won. Getting older and tired of all the fighting and battling. Some one was looking out for me. I walked into to local GMC dealer and this truck was just delivered two hours prior. 2022 GMC Denali 2500 Hd Duramax. The dealer was still willing to wait the 12-16 week repair time and i was still able to negotiate a lower price, not the best I’ve ever done but I was happy. Im back on the road no more repair headaches.🎉
  8. Looks nice. I don’t think it will do much except stop hitch rattle. You already have a similar setup on your Ollie’s suspension which i think will do a better job than this hitch.IMO sorry no i have never seen one before nor do I have any experience with one.
  9. John its a big job a lot of parts to take off the front most of it is the cooling system intercoolers trans coolers lots of hoses. If it wasn’t a $1500.00 warranty job. It would be at the local diesel shop. Hopefully GM will reimburse me for a aftermarket OEM pulley and I’ll upgrade and pay the cost difference. At least I’m driving there vehicle for awhile. It’s tuff no matter what avenue you try to take your stuck. I’ve never seen it this bad. Very frustrating the new norm.
  10. I thought I share this with any Chevy GMC Duramax owners. While doing routine maintenance on my 2017 Chevy Duramax. I noticed a small oil leak at the front of the engine. I suspected a bad crankshaft seal. Under warranty the Chevy dealer confirmed a leaking front crank shaft seal. That was the easy part here’s the nightmare. I was informed that the harmonic balancer pulley which has a rubber grommet in between the pulley for engine vibration was deteriorated and needs replacement. I was told I was lucky to have brought it in. If the pulley let loose it would have destroyed the engine. Speaking with the mechanic he said several like this has been reported. The bad news. There is only one pulley available at a North Carolina dealer and they refuse to sell it to my dealership. GM has zero available and are looking at 12-16 weeks maybe. I have started the complainant process but it also takes time. GM no longer will give you a loaner vehicle of the same kind you get what they give you. Which is wrong but better than nothing. The other sad part is there are no new trucks available to buy. đŸ€ŻđŸ€Ż There are better quality pulleys out there after market at $500.00 range. In negotiation’s with GM they may reimburse this cost to me. It’s not like GM to do this but we shall see. The battle continues.đŸ€Ș It looks like my Oliver travels are on hold for awhile, with the fuel prices this all my be a good thing. 😇
  11. Good point. Hidden stamped vin numbers. And a small hidden gps tracker. Would be the best way to try to recover your Trailer quicker. I should of mentioned this in the last post if your interested in stamping your vin in the frame you only need to stamp the last 6 digits of the vin, this is the identifier of your trailer.
  12. If anyone is concerned about your trailer theft. You can purchase a cheep set of metal number and letter stamps from harbor freight. Find a location that only you know and stamp in your vin number somewhere on the frame. The problem is that if your trailer was ever stolen the bad guys will reproduce a new vin sticker and you trailer would be brought and sold many times over the years. And no one would know. Most of the time the only way that something like this is recovered. If the bad guy gets arrested and rats out everyone else.
  13. Unless things have changed in the last 20 years. Any thing that had a assigned VIN number a hidden number is somewhere usually on the frame. The only organization who had this information was NICB National insurance crime bureau. Law enforcement where the only ones that could access this information. This was also true for heavy equipment and tractors with trailers. For Oliver being a small Company not producing a lot of trailers hidden vins my not apply, or they may will never know. I Remember this one 1962 Corvette you removed the drivers door sill plate drill a 2in hole through the fiberglass at a certain location and a partial vin number was stamped in the frame, this Corvette was stolen in 1965 and recovered in 1995.
  14. Airstream doesn’t assign numbers at the factory. When you join the Airstream club/ group then a number is assigned. You get the big red numbers you see on the back of the trailer. They also send you a book that has all the assigned numbers with owner info. It was a nice feature when you past another Airstream. You could look up where they were from. I don’t think Oliver could do this to big of an organization,
  15. What they call weekends are usually late Thursday -Saturday. Most every one leaves on Sunday which opens up a lot of spaces. I think most parks should go to a non refundable weekend deposits, which would cut down on the hoarding of rv sites for weekends.
  16. I agree with ScottyGS go with the poly/ plastic mesh type for RVs much easier to clean they tend to pick up a lot of dirt. Most of it shake’s off when you fold it up. I bring a couple of 55gal HD trash bags to store the mat. After arriving home quick sweep off then wash down with a hose. They dry quickly. I don’t think the artificial turf will clean off as well imo.
  17. Some of the major FL. back roads two lanes are 301, 441 us19 I’m sure there are more. Be speed minded when on these routes small towns pop up quickly and the speed limit will drop to 65-35-25 mph. The boys in blue will be waiting to take your money.đŸ’°đŸ˜©
  18. I believe they deleted the outlet’s in 2020 outside the bathroom and the bed side night stand.
  19. It appears the tide is changing. At the time before I purchased my 2019 lE2 pricing between buying new over used was only within a few thousand. It made more sense to buy new and get what we wanted it was also better in 2019-2020 options were more flexible instead of now having to get packaged options. Also not mentioned with that hefty 10k plus increase is a hefty sales tax title and reg. On my 2019 sales tax title and reg. For Florida was around $4,000.00. I almost cancelled my built because of costs glad I didn’t. Even though Oliver is one of the best trailers out there, there is a breaking point. I would not buy again at that price range. 🙁
  20. I wouldn’t just limit your search to state parks. Yes they are less expensive that’s why they’ll all full. There are many private Rv parks and resorts in just about every county. I used to live full time at (The Great Outdoors) in Titusville. A little pricey but great amenity’s, golf, restaurant, church, mail facilities two pools, pickle ball, nature trails the list goes on. And if you get the right site you’ll see all the rocket launcher’s from your site. Don’t get discouraged there’s plenty’s of places to stay in Florida. 😎
  21. Read the post to quick thought it said basket oh well đŸ€Ș
  22. My question no driveway parking of a truck HOA rules? It to expensive to store a truck in storage. Where do you plan on putting the Oliver? HOA rules allow RVs park in the drive way? Sorry off subject . If your new to trailers and trucks. My answer will be no it won’t work now. You will be very close on your limits. Being new to this you will be overloaded with everything you think you’ll need to carry. It wont make an enjoyable towing experience. Not math my opinion.
