    Brian,

I just replaced two touch lights - the one over the cooktop and the one over the street side bed.  They would only come on partially (not very bright at all) and weren't helpful.  I ordered enough replacements for all of the touch lights.  When I placed this order with Oliver, Jason did tell me that whenever I turn the master switch on, any lights that have been replaced will come on automatically which they now do.  The others do not come on automatically.  This new behavior is not a big deal to me.

Just as a heads up, I think tapping the light "hard" causes them to fail quicker.  A very very light touch is the better way to turn these on.  As Dave mentions above, there is a small, sensitive spring that activates the light and it doesn't like to be touched too hard.

    connor77,

I have replaced (2) one over the sink and one over the stove top. My master switch in my Oliver does not turn on the replacement touch lights after this repair. We still have to gently touch them and voil’a let there be light.

Must be nice/convenient having the forward doghouse mounted 30A shore outlet!  Has anyone researched if this can be retrofitted by an owner - or does it go to the mobile RV tech for installation?  Just curious!

This is an option which we added to our Oliver build sheet. Yes, it’s totally convenient. I have not seen a post where someone has added this mod.

I would most likely go with Honda if it was dual fuel.

My 3200i will be hopefully soon, I am on the www.hutchmountain.com LP conversion kit waiting list for the EU3200i. I will post up after I receive the kit and run the gen with the conversion kit. I really like the EU3000is LP conversion kit which was a fairly simple install. This gen weighs in at 130# dry and it’s a now tri fuel conversion. LP, LNG, and gasoline.

Now that warmer weather is upon us, was anyone able to follow up on the possibility of the Truma AC running off a Honda 2200I?

I won’t be running our Truma off a 2200i as I don’t own one. Most importantly it’s not recommended for the Truma. So why bother taking a chance and having an issue? I doubt the Truma warranty dept would come to anyone’s rescue. Maybe I am missing something here?

  5. I presently collaborating with a family owned steel fabrication company in developing a “puck lock” security tray for the new Honda EU3200i. The design is very similar to the Honda 2200i. A bit if rough draft work measuring and many photos of the new 3200i. It’s a bit larger than the 2200i with a different bottom where the rubber feet are located. The numbers and design are now in the CAD stage. It will be crafted from 10 gauge metal and powder coated black.

This will allow the me to lock the gen down in the Oliver cargo basket during travel covered of course. And the option to actually run it in the cargo basket. I am hoping to have the first copy in a few weeks so I can conduct a fit and finish test on the our 3200i. My measurements have been redacted until final development.
I was hoping to have this Rally ready and installed however the timing is not working out. We are headed off to Oliver soon, so it will be after the rally before I can post up a few pics.

Who am I to dispute what Truma says about its products?

That said, attached are three photos showing:  (1) one of the two filters removed from our Truma Aventa air conditioner on the countertop above the fridge; (2) a close-up of the filter, so you can see the plastic honeycomb and (3) me washing a filter in our home kitchen sink.

Silly me for thinking they could be washed instead of replaced for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!978806321_TrumaACFilteronCountertop.thumb.jpg.8ae65a79e4a0a612019d66a01527eb87.jpg

Looks like I will be washing our new Truma filter's.

  7. Here is an interesting video which gives a pretty straight forward way to disable the speaker on an Apple Air Tag. Removal of the speaker eliminates the continuous audible chirp after 72 hrs. Removal of the speaker will not allow a bad actor to hear the chirp, then find and disable the AT by removing the battery after he/she locates it. For example an AT hidden in a car under the seat or in the trunk. Or in a piece expensive camping equipment say a portable generator or even an  Oliver TT. The bad actor will eventually figure out there is an AT on the stolen item tracking them if they have an iPhone. Without the speaker chirping it will be more just a bit a lot more difficult to find.

A common misconception - the map location is not the location of the air tag, it’s the map location for your truck or campers air tag that would have been the location of the persons phone who parked or walked or drove by close enough for their phone to hear the air tags  broadcast.

@Patriot - All good points, brother.  It was a random thought...  It definitely wouldn't look too red hot, for sure.  Thanks for sending pix of the weep hole drill out of the awning brackets.  I'd like seeing the sizing and placement of the holes by the OTT maintenance team.  Thanks, and cheers!

Your welcome! It’s certainly something an owner can do. We were at Oliver so they took care of us.

@Patriot Can you tell how big those holes are in the awning mounts?  Maybe take a drill bit to them to see?!  We don't want people making to large of a hole and compromising the integrity of the mounts.

Would a quick picture help see what it looks like?

Do you know if Oliver has made that their new standard, or did you ask for them to drill the weep holes in the mounting brackets?

Pulling off and cleaning that Bulb seal was a PAIN.

Yes Oliver now drills awning brackets to mitigate the pooling and facilitate drainage. They drilled ours with what I measure as a 7/16 hole and here is a pic-

Would a battery powered blower be of any use to keep this area clean before it gets matted down in that area? That was the first thing that came to my mind reading this discussion.

I just tilt the Oliver nose up a little and just use a strong nozzle water hose and honestly just about everything washes out after a few rinses.
A battery blower would work as long as the leaves are dry. Most dry debris flys off the roof when under way.

My little HF battery powered blower. A great little toy, I mean tool. The broom is retired as this travels well and is fairly quiet. Just go buy one.

@Wayfinder - What do you think about the EZ Gutter above the awning mounts up top and the bulb seal below like @Patriot described earlier in the thread?  That way, the large debris would flush through under the awning in heavy wind/rain conditions, anything stuck or leftover could easily be swept away manually.  During light rain conditions - the EZ Gutter would channel water away and keep from streaking the side of the rig.

Here's what one end of my bulb seal looked like after I removed it:

UGH!, Nasty!  You can see the oxidized rubber material powder coating my hand...

From an observation stand point of watching how water flows when washing our Oliver, I would not recommend installing the EZ gutter above the awning seal. I honestly do not think you would be happy with this mod post install. If you install the bulb seal properly and it adheres well you should not have any side streaking. Also consider drilling your awning brackets to keep water from puddling.  This made a huge difference after Oliver drilled ours out.
My other thought on installing the gutter guard it will be a very tedious job to remove if you are not happy with it. Naturally debris falls from trees or leaves or pine needles dropping. I try to not park under pine trees or weeping trees when possible.
We wash our Ollie regularly and as much as I don’t enjoy climbing ladders I try and keep this area clean and waxed.

Has anyone with the Aventa had to replace its filters yet? How did you get replacements, and how much did they cost? Truma's website doesn't seem to have a way to order them.

Maybe give a quick call to  Mike Sharpe at Oliver Service, I feel sure he could assist you with ordering replacements. Or where you can order them? I don’t think Oliver stocks filters from the new Truma, great question!

  13. If you contact Mike Sharpe or Jason Essary at Oliver Service they could assist you with providing a recommended RV Service Center in your area. Oliver in the past has been selective on what service centers they recommend to perform work on Olivers. For any fiberglass work I would highly recommend Oliver - just MHO.

Please consider listing  your Oliver Hull# and tow vehicle in your signature area IF you own an Oliver.
As members we can assist you better with questions on maintenance or other questions.

    Welcome and Thanks!
