Thanks!  I do a little bit of woodworking so this was a piece of scrap mahogany I had sitting in a pile.  It really makes coffee in bed easier. I covered the surface with some liner I use for tool drawers so the cups don’t slide around. 😀

That wood working hobby could lead to a complete a mahogany dinette table, pantry and microwave countertops!! 👍🏻😊

You completely cheated when knowing what to search for. You participated a lot in that thread. Oh sure, everything is easy if you have the answer. LoL 😂

Caution flag Wayfinder, no cheating here, just suggesting you use of the search function as many mod topics on the forum have been discussed in ad nauseam.

Here’s a quick little modification for those who don’t use the TV.  I took ours out and repurposed the fold down mount by adding a small shelf to hold our coffee in the morning.

Nice work! We never watch our TV, we are too busy sightseeing! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Ours came loose on the curbside.

Going to reattach the band using Gorilla Super Glue Double Sided Tape this week, one strip of double sided tape under each adhesive strip on the chrome band (between original band adhesive & hull) with the Gorilla tape overlapping under the chrome strip.

    Available at WalMart:

@rideandfly Yes! this worked really well where we had a little area of the belly band lift. No issues since! 👍🏻👍🏻

  5. Touch light replacement just completed over the dinette. It’s important to note that the TL’s I have replaced have all been working fine. I do hope Oliver finds a higher quality touch light. These are cheesey at best. Hopefully they will last.

Loosen the light cap by turning and remove it. Drill out the existing rivets, cut the white and black wire as close as you can to the old light. This will leave you plenty of wire to connect your replacement. Connect the new TL wires by braiding the wire ends to each respective color. I used electrical tape and heat shrink tubing for the finish. Tuck the extra wire back into the wire opening in the hull ceiling. Install the light base with new rivets and attached the light cap. When using these touch them gently. Don’t ask me how I know. 😎

    Let there be light!

If for some reason you need rivets you can purchase these at Ace HW. They work fine.

    Rumor and rumor only -

2024 Olivers will see a return to normally operated lights (i.e. via a switch versus being "touch" lights).

    Bill

I actually learned that it’s not a rumor. Oliver is moving away from touch lights in the 2024 Ollies and likely beyond. The light will be a little smaller than the present light and from what I also learned won’t allow a retro fit into earlier models.

  7. @Ollie-Haus

    Great find!
I just happen to be replacing a touch light over the dinette. So I took a photo of it. Thanks for posting  the Amazon link as they look petty identical. Probably the same company in China just a different supplier. I purchased (3) spares on our recent trip to Oliver. I hope this replacement lasts! This is the third touch light I have replaced. 😏

@csevel Hope you're doing well.  I'm not sure if you made it to the Guntersville rally or not. I was there, but way too many new names to keep track of.

I replaced my lug nuts tonight and also discovered SIX cracked lug nut shields on the Oliver-provided lug nuts from 2016, only five pictured.

I found this info out at the rally.  I should have seen your posting first though.  LOL

What do you plan to replace yours with?

@Roadlotus, does this price include the new interior unit/Adu, as well? I usually see Dometic units priced separately,  since many can be used with a ducted system. If so, that's a great price.

(The Houghton we bought included both units in the quoted price.)

@Patriot, I'm curious about the fiberglass work necessary for your Truma upgrade. It seems as though all the rooftop units and vents these days are sized for the standard 14 x 14 opening. What did Oliver have to do for the Truma? When we installed our Houghton, we had to file and square up a jagged corner or two, but that was it.

    @SeaDawg

Here is a little closer photo of the new fiberglass foundation that the Truma Aventa requires given it has a much different foot print than the Dometic. I learned Oliver will no longer allow Truma Service to retro fit Truma Aventa AC’s. Long story short,  Truma Service attempted to do the “free” Truma retro fit on an Oliver and the trailer ended up back at Oliver Service for major and very expensive fiberglass repair work. Another reason we wanted our Truma installed only by Oliver.

    IMG_8582.thumb.jpeg.a9135f65fb32bb56ea90d6db4ed6a272.jpeg

The entire fiberglass foundation you see supporting the base of the Truma is all new.  Look closely and you will see 3 tiny weep holes. They are simply there to allow any moisture out of this interior sloped area of the roof.

  10. Update - Please disregard my request above. I could not locate a company that makes a cover for the Truma Aventa, so I just ordered a custom cover from this company-

    https://www.coversandall.com/?utm_source=transactional_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=footer

The same company that is also crafting my Honda 3200i custom cover. I will post up my review of quality fit and finish of both these custom covers once I receive them.

Our smaller Houghton doesn't have one. I think the bigger Houghton has a heat pump.

The Truma? I don't know. Heat strip or heat pump?  @Patriot can fill us in, I'm sure.

Will be good to know about features vs cost, etc.

Would be really great if the freshjet hooks up with the condensate drain.

Thanks, @Roadlotus, for asking all the questions.

@SeaDawg No heat pump or heat strip on the Truma Aventa.

the tech I am working with just sent me this for pricing:

Hello this will be a direct fit no need to retro fit anything.

Dometic Freshjet 3 Series, Rooftop RV Air Conditioner 13500 BTU, White. with shipping cost $1027.58 + tax

I don't know what labor will be, but because they are Dometic servicers, I am hoping it won't be more than 2 hours time. I can keep you posted, as this seems like the way to go for me. I live in CA and travelling to TN for the Truma is not an option. Plus this is MUCH less expensive and should use my existing thermostat.

I don't think the heat pump or remote is available in the states yet. I have asked my tech and also asked if this will match to existing condensation drainage.

Hopefully the foot print of the Freshjet 3 will mirror the foot print of the Dometic Penguin Oliver uses. A direct retro fit and clean install is critical especially on an Oliver. It might be a good idea to ask if there will be any Fiberglass work necessary on the exterior or interior?  We just had the Truma Aventa installed and it required a fair amount of fiberglass work by Oliver. It turned out excellent.

This is an interesting product from Dometic.  From their literature it seems that they understand their current AC’s have issues!  I’d be interested in pricing.  Mike

Yes the current Dometic AC’s are noise makers! Truma and Houghton are so much quieter that now Dometic is forced to step it up!  Ya gotta love competition in the free market! 😊

  14. Today is a gorgeous 76 degree Western North Carolina day. And a really good cool, breezy day to install this new gen security mount - https://fittingdesignsco.com/products/generator-lock-security-low-profile-mount-honda-generator-mount-predator-generator-mount-camping-travel-mount-truck-mount

Here are a few install photos. I measured and cut a piece of 3/4” thick rubber horse stall mat to serve as an additional vibration isolator.

The install was straightforward using all stainless fasteners. Due to the length of the 3200i and the design of the security tray, this was the only installation configuration I was happy with. Overall, I am really pleased with how it turned out.

This is the tray with the puck lock, which is bolted to the bottom of the generator. When you unlock the puck, the tray lifts out of the generator basket. The basket in the next photo is the basket that receives the tray and then the tray is locked into place with the puck lock.

Do to the length of the 3200i and security tray it required a hole to be drilled to allow

full key access to the puck lock. (Warning do not loose your keys!!!!)

I still need to finish sand off the fresh edges of the key hole.

    IMG_8729.thumb.jpeg.151606201cd4f67ceacd007c4ca23b77.jpeg

I have ordered a custom made heavy duty cover with our Hull # on it for the 3200i from www.coversandall.com. This should arrive in a week or so. Presently Honda does not sell a cover for the 3200i. This custom cover will be much more robust than the Honda light weight covers.

This is where the gen will live.
