    Just catching up…

    I do have both a F350 and a 2019 Ranger.   I’d probably prefer to tow with the F350, as it’s a crew cab w/8 foot box, but will need a decent rock guard.  My tires pick up a lot of rocks.  The Eco Boost Ranger is either Eco or Boost.  MPG plummets when towing.  I avg 22 empty, but it drops quickly with a load.  Highway empty is as high as 26.

    My highest complaint about the Ranger is about controls.  Can’t easily see/find buttons, so use the screen… which means eyes not on road.

    Where are you located?

    @Wandering Sagebrush
    Yes I highly recommend towing with the F350, we do and we are very happy with long distance comfort, safety and cargo capacity. No splitting  hairs on cargo capacity you can carry like our former 1/2 ton 5.7 liter Tundra. The Tundra served us well, but not our choice for the optimal TV for long distance travel.
    As for Rock Stoppers we ordered these from www.livelymachine.com. They are well made and work extremely well and don’t sail at highway speeds. All aluminum tubing and stainless hardware and well made in my experience using them. The fit and finish is close to OEM. They are closer to the rear wheels than the other after market options. Just another option.

  2. I use Rock Stoppers by https://www.livelymachine.com for a custom cleaner closer to the rear wheel fit and finish. These are Super Duty specific fit. I will never pull our Ollie with out them, they work great.

    Best of luck in your choice!

    😳 Glad it passed through your Olivers plumbing system. You may want to just pass this photo and a short write up on to Oliver Service that you discovered this in your tank. This should not have happened and they can pass this information along to the plant to preempt future issues and sharper 👀. It could have resulted in a costly repair.

  4. I always try and carry several heavy moving blankets to lay over the hood and maybe roof. I am not advocating this is going to prevent all hail damage, but it’s better than nothing if you know hail is on its way. Naturally timing is everything and staying weather aware as much as possible.

  5. While at the recent rally we spotted a Truma service van driving by our site and stopped the van and asked the tech a few questions. We were interested learning a little more about the remote control operation of our new Truma Aventa retro fit. The written instructions are translated from German to English and are not that good at all.
    After answering our questions we then began talking about the Truma frig/freezers. The tech just happened to have a couple brand new C30’s and (2) new C36’s in his service van for sale. He mentioned to us that the Truma had a promotional sale price on the C36 which was 45% off and the cover was included at no extra charge. Long story short, we purchased a C36 at the sale price. When empty it weighs 50# which will be more manageable than a heavier unit.

    We understood from the Truma tech the sale price was also offered on line but you have to add it to the cart in order to receive the discount. And you either get free shipping or a free cover not both.
    With a 10% Ala sales tax we paid $755.00 total for the C36 and under the Truma promotion no charge for the insulated cover. 45% off seems like a pretty good deal with the normal price approx $1300 plus tax.

    As you know - I don't spend very much money without taking a look at what I get for that hard earned money.

    AS you said above - certainly check the prices for these services.  But, my point is that one should also check what they are getting for the price. 🙂

    Well that’s right! For now we will continue to wash and wax and keep her polished up and in the shade of the Ollie hangar. 👍🏻😊

    I found it interesting that the guys from CGI brought this subject up.  Simply put - they believe that there is no way that the warranty can work in that it will either eventually force that company out of business due to cost of claims or because the "job" will simply not hold up.  They asked me if I knew any if information about it - I don't.  They also wondered if this price included the polishing and prep work and a coating made for fiberglass rather than for regular clearcoat - I didn't know that either.

    Having said this - I was aware of this Facebook post prior to writing the check to CGI.  In a rough calculation - not including the cost of the materials used in the process - what I paid calculates to just under $45 per hour of work for each of the 4 guys and this doesn't include something for the company -- i.e. costs for advertising, accounting, washing Twist at the Rally, etc.

    Bottom line - I'd need to know a lot more about what I'd get for the $1900.00 before I'd make the trip to AZ.  And, I'm satisfied with the job that CGI did.

    Bill

    Bill,
    Yes, I sent you the FB post before you went to have the CC done by CGI. The bottom line… heck it’s only a $1200 difference. If you’re happy that’s all that counts! 😊

    We've been using Harvest Host for years - but the annual fees are a drag.  We used H2 on our return leg from a recent trip to Mexico last weekend - an awesome Vinyard in Wilcox, AZ:  "Pillsbury Vinyards".  Literally camped with the vines! HA!   @SeaDawg: We'll be giving this new app a shot also - thanks for the great post information!

    Yes the fees are a drag…and they will auto charge your CC if you don’t read their tiny fine print disclosure and unselect auto renewal.  😏

  9. We like the Ceramic coating on our truck and it does make a difference. I would strongly encourage a price check on having your Ollie done.

    An Ollie owner on FB recently had his LE2 completely done in Arizona for $1900.00. This also included all of his windows with a 5 year warranty.

    Thank you, Chris. I was genuinely surprised at how many people we saw using the list! I’m glad that it came in handy.

    It was funny, because when I’d handout a contact card, invariably, the response would be “Oh, you’re the list guy” or “ Oh, you’re Curiously! I loved the story”

    We met so many wonderful people and already look forward to next year. You’ll again find us on G23. We’ve also made plans with several Ohio, Indiana, and at least one Illinois owners to get together in Indiana late September or early October.

    Thank you all for making our first rally so memorable!

    Has anyone purchased the new HONDA 3200i that has a Truma AC unit?  It is rated at 3200 surge and 2800 continuous power.  Will it run the AC?

    @Coach and JoJo
    Sorry, for the delayed reply, we just got home from the Rally. Yes it runs the Truma Aventa. We are really happy with it so far.

    @Seadawg,

    Thank you for posting the link to order. This is a new web page with the 3200i generator security lock now available to order.

  13. Today I received the first initial production mount of the new Honda eu3200i security mounting system. This came after weeks of collaboration, exchanging measurements and photos, emails and phones calls with fittingdesignsco@gmail.com.

    Note: You will need to modify your cargo box to use the key to unlock the puck mount. This will require drilling a hole in the side of the cargo box in order for the key to be inserted to unlock the puck mount. The base plate of the mount will also need to be be bolted down in the cargo box. I will add additional photos of mounting this gen security system when we return home from the rally. The unit pricing is $375.00 plus tax shipped to the lower 48. If interested, please contact the company at 530-913-2271 if you have further questions or wish to place an order.

    More install photos to come.
