We are the new owners of hull #90.  Upgrading from a Casita.  I have noticed when the tongue jack and stabilizers are down there is still rocking in the body.  I am parked on a concrete surface.  Is this normal?

Yes, we use these and they help reduce rocking.

  2. I recently purchased a set of what I thought were brass quick connects to install on my water inlets on our Oliver. I quickly realized when I received the QCs that they simply had a brass colored coating and were made of aluminum. I returned the aluminum QCs  via Amazon and ordered a solid brass set of quick connects to avoid any galvanic corrosion or fusing of the threads due to dissimilar metals. Maybe I am overthinking this but I can’t imagine how much trouble it would be to remove a leaky fused aluminum QC on an Ollies water inlet.

Does anyone know what metal the threaded water inlets are made if on the Ollie?
My plan is to use these new solid brass QCs when they arrive unless I learn differently. I know there are more high dollar QCs out there, but these have pretty solid reviews and the price seems decent.

Thanks for any input and thoughts.

  3. Welcome Margaret and congrats on your Ollie and retirement!

When you have a moment consider adding your Hull # and year model of your Ollie in your signature block. This will really help members to assist you if of you have any questions about your particular operating Oliver’s systems.
    Happy Camping!

After talking with @Patriot about PPF, I followed their suggestion to apply a thick film in the lower front of our Ollie. All recommendations on PPF installation say find an installer you trust and use the brand of film that they use. I received a recommendation for a local PPF installer and detailer and had him work on my new F-150 (a more familiar vehicle) to assess quality and working relationship. He was excellent (contact me for a referral if near San Antonio). So we installed Suntek 11.5 mil film to the "front impact area" and then ceramic coated the entire Ollie.image.thumb.jpeg.c6a97ef4c3dd4eda15cc62ceaf7e2849.jpeg

    John and Jodi,
Beautiful rig!! You will be so glad you did the PPF as it really helps.  And congrats on your new Oliver it sure looks amazing!

  5. The 2023 “demo” with the Truma AC and other added options/changes/upgrades we saw at this past rally was actually a 2020 YM model Elite ll. The new Truma AC will fit fine in our 2020 and won’t require any additional cutting when Oliver moves forward on a retro fit possibly in March of 23 depending on supply chain.

    FWIW.

I’ve been thinking about the Houghton.  If Oliver does a retrofit with the Truma AC I will definitely be interested.  The worst feature of our Oliver is the Dometic AC.  Mike

Agreed. We really liked how quiet the Truma AC was and I thought why not just call Oliver and ask? Let’s just hope that the supply chain keeps chugging along and Oliver receives plenty of Truma AC inventory. 👍🏻

  7. I called and talked with Mike Sharp at Oliver Service today and asked him if Oliver would switch out our Dometic Penguin for the new Truma AC? Mike told me that Oliver is going to be retrofitting the new Truma into present owners Ollies for those that want to pay for this upgrade. I did not ask what the price would be. He did say they hope to begin scheduling this in March of next year.
Naturally this all depends on supply chain etc. The LE 2 at the rally that we saw had the Truma unit installed was a 2020 model.  We may consider the upgrade to the new Truma.

My guess is 1/3 of our original norcold , and replacement dometic.

Not a game changer for us.

I appreciate the increased fridge capacity,  more.

Everyone has a different camping style.  And, yes, we adjusted ours for the smaller freezer in the 130.

    Still. Very happy campers.

Just spoke with Mike Sharp at Oliver Service and he confirmed Oliver is planning to retro fit the new Truma AC into the existing owners Oliver’s. The Oliver LE2 with the new Truma AC at the rally was in fact a 2020 model. So we’ll consider having our Dometic Penguin swapped out for the new Truma. Mike said the retro fits could possibly begin in March of next year. Something we may consider as the Truma is a quieter unit for sure after listening to it while at the rally while inside the demo.

I don't know if that's Oliver's decision. Last I read, the truma ac was only available for new oem install.

Very few Truma products are available for retrofit.

Ps, that tiny freezer is full depth, and not quite as small as it looks.

Mine has worked well for us for 4 years.

In our observation the new 2023 freezer is really small maybe 1/4 the size our Norcold freezer and that’s being generous at best. The refrigerator compartment is two thirds the size of the Norcold.  My bride even pointed the smaller size as she does an amazing job packing our cold items for extended trips. We thought  we could maybe get one large bag of frozen blueberries in there. 🫐😅 We are very happy with our Norcold so far especially it’s size.

I recently detailed our LE II  and want to keep it free from bird evidence and tree sap wile not in use, so I have the Calmark cover installed.  She’s a 2019 model with the solar package and AGM batteries.  I have a 30 amp service next to the pad where she’s parked.  As the solar panels are covered, is there risk of overcharging if I leave the shore power plugged in while stored?

    PapaBiker,

We used our Calmark cover last winter and kept our Ollie plugged into 30 amp shore power here at our home from Oct to April and our solar panels were covered. We did not experience any issues with our AGM batteries.
When not in use our Ollie always stays plugged into shore power.

Kudos to Panther RV.  They responded promptly to my query with a link to the correct part, and I have placed an order.

    Bill,

I have a Dometic awning as well on our 2020 (manual type) would you mind sharing the part number? My cap is slightly loose and I may order another to replace it.

    Thanks,

  12. This has been discussed a lot on here and this info may help you with your decision. I inquired with Oliver Service prior to this modification. I was told by the person I spoke at Oliver that Oliver has not had any reports of the bike racks failing with this configuration failing as long as you are under the 150# weight limit which we are.
I had two independent aluminum engineers look at this mod and both agreed it was safe as long as you do not exceed the weight limit. Olivers concern is an owner overloading the receiver hence the smaller stock receiver.
Just know that Oliver does not endorse the 2” receiver modification on their bike racks.

That said, there are quite a few owners that have their bicycle racks configured this way with thousands of miles on their Oliver with bikes attached. We have not had any issues to date.
    See attached thread -

  13. Congrats on your decision to order and Oliver! Your delivery date will be here before you know it! If you get a chance try and get a factory tour scheduled before your delivery date. It’s a pretty amazing tour and really give you insight on how these unique travel trailers are built. Welcome to the Oliver family.

Nice to see you going with the 2023, I would imagine there will be a sufficient price increase with those new items, but a less noisy A/C is worth it.

While we were having our Ollie serviced this past June a salesman in the Oliver showroom mentioned to my wife and I that a new 2023 OLEll fully optioned is $107,000. Wowza!! It sure made us glad we purchased our 2020 when we did.

Sounds like a good move as now you will be getting the quieter Dometic AC unit option?

What Solar/battery option are you thinking of getting?

I believe they will be getting the new Truma combo AC, Frig, and Furnace if it’s a 2023. This is what we saw in a demo Ollie at this past summers Oliver Rally.
