John - you can re-list yours.  Just sold our Dometic for $700 to a nice couple from Vermont.  We agreed to meet in the middle and met them in New Hampshire.  Super smooth transaction.   Within 45 minutes of putting it on Craigslist I had interest.  First person that emailed me bought it.
Feel really fortunate.  One less thing to trip on in the garage!

Congrats on the sale and garage space reclaim. I am so happy to hear it all went well. Great job!!

I am actually on day 3 of a 2 week shake down test of my recent self install of: 2-Zamp 170w panels, a Zamp 3 port roof box, Victron 100-30 solar charger, 2 - 100ah SOK lithium batteries, a blue sky cutoff switch for the solar panels as well as the appropriate circuit breaker and the proper sized cables and lugs.

I had previously installed a blue sky battery cut off and a Victron 712. My 2019 has the PD4060 with the lithium jumper.

Our camping style doesn’t call for an inverter and I want a less complicated system. I did all of the work myself and have probably $3k total in it, including the harbor freight lug crimper tool and wire locator.

I learned a lot and the project was fun. I totally relied on AndrewK’s instructions and lots of advice / encouragement from Andrew as well as ScubaRX and Mike Mossy.  These guys are the best!!

I have kept the PD charger circuit breaker switched off when we plug in and batteries are quickly getting back to 100% by midday from the panels.
I’ll give further thoughts as I get more familiar using the system.

The Install took probably 2 full days by my self but knowing what I know now, to do it again I could pull it off in 10-12 hours. Probably less with some help.

I’ll give further thoughts as I get more familiar using the system.

So far I really am impressed

I have been following this thread closely...     We have the Dometic Penguin.    I am a bit disappointed....   I have been checking the A/C regularly.....     So far not a single Penguin.

That was good!! You, and we live to far south in Western NC.😅

Good for you guys on being caring "foster parents".

However - once they are out of the nest I'd be making sure that the nursery is closed.  A cover like Patriot has will do that job nicely.

    Bill

Here - for those who have the Dometic Penguin. So far mine has lasted two years and is still holding up well.

Out of curiosity, how does the view compare to the old voyager system? It looks like they mounted it in the same location so I assume it still points down. Does it give you better down the road coverage? On the voyager we don't really see cars behind us unless they are pulled up behind  at a stoplight or something like that. I am assuming you would need to mount it lower (like bumper level) to see down the road.

It’s adjustable so you can dial in the rear cam adjustment where you want it. It works as good if not better than the Voyager giving about the same coverage with a sharper picture imo. I can see a fairly long distance behind me on the interstate where it’s presently mounted. I have the lens set so I can also see our bicycles mounted on our rear bike carrier as well as down the interstate. If it was mounted lower when it rains road spray would wash out the lens and rear view. Mounted high has worked best for both the Voyager and this new Furrion in my experience.

Shurhold said their Wax and Buff Magic (compound) is for Auto and Marine use. Already had plenty of Meguiar's Flagship wax and One Step compound on the shelf, decided to finish using the Meguiar's products before moving to Shurhold products. Last time I visited Oliver a few years ago, one of the guys on the floor said they use Buff Magic before waxing new Ollies.

Only used wax on the Tundra, no compound.

I really like the Meguiars products and the one step 67 really removed the mild oxidation we had on our Ollie with very little effort. 👍🏻

We have the OpenRoads (TSD) card and have used in on our last two trips over 3,000.   The convenience of the larger lanes, cost savings, and the rapid fill rate at the commercial lanes have been a game changer to the positive.   We have recommended to several of our friends as we have been very happy with the program so far.

    QuestionMark,

Thank you for the positive feedback. We look forward to the fuel cost savings and the convenience and safety of using the larger lanes and rapid fill pumps. A game changer for sure.

  8. We have been looking at a way to save a little money on diesel fuel when traveling and learned about the TDS fuel card program and just signed up. Just thought I would pass this information along as I have read a number of solid reviews. I also like the safety factor of not having to squeeze into smaller fuel lanes at many filling stations around the country. The big rig lanes we have used in the past just allow for so much more room to maneuver our rig. Note - You will want to make sure your truck accepts a high flow pump nozzle (ours does) before applying and DEF is not discounted at the pump with this card.
The Open Roads app is easily downloaded and very intuitive.
I wanted to pass this info along and also ask if anyone else is using a “fleet card” program and if so which one are are you happy with it?

Comments and thoughts are welcome if you have used or are using a fleet diesel purchase card.
