The Viair 400P-Auto is recommended on many off road and travel forums for a portable compressor/inflator. I have the 450P auto. The 450 has a 200% duty cycle while the 400 has 33%. But the 400 pumps 2.3 cubic feet of air per minute, while the 450 does only 1.8. So either works fine.
both have auto power at the nozzle, so when you release the lever the compyturns off. The non-auto versions only have the switch on the compressor itself.

I have a ViaAir and carry it full time in my TV. It has served us well. If you have an SUV and are short on cargo and storage capacity just know this will take up a fair amount of room. Shop around for the best price.

This will definitely be my next minor upgrade. Looking forward to seeing outside the door window. Now do I choose clear or tinted? I’m thinking tinted with white blinds. Is there a one way mirror glass available?
We chose tinted as it matches the rest of the Oliver windows. 👍🏻

I was talking to John (owner of ZARCOR) today with a technical question and he advised me they are looking for someone in the Dallas, TX area with a late model (2021 or newer) Oliver Elite so they can install and film one of their very nice door replacement windows.
They will provide the parts and labor free-of-charge for use of the trailer to do the installation video.
Here's an opportunity for a free upgraded window and your trailer will be a star.
Call John at ZARCOR and tell him I sent you over.
Paul
Paul,
I have done business and spoken with John when I installed my new tinted window and blind, he is a very nice guy and a straight shooter! 👍🏻
Some lucky owner is gonna enjoy their new window and blind! 👍🏻Patriot

Original post edited to include our thoughts on the change of upgraded mattress supplier. Short version: KTT and Takata are both available, but the buyer doesn’t get a choice in what’s supplied.
Steve,
We did not like the southern mattresses with spring coils that we purchased prior to picking up our Ollie. Way too many pressure points for our comfort level. We sold them to another Ollie owner with full disclosure of our intentions to replace with memory foam. We purchased a Casper 10” Element and now enjoy deep sleep on what we call our “my cloud” 😴😅.
There are other much less expensive mattress options out there if you choose to get creative.

We opted to not rush on such a huge purchase. We did the tour and drove back home and thought over our decision for a few weeks before sending our deposit. We felt no pressure to order the day of the tour and it all worked out great.
Best of luck!- 2

In a pinch I've also used a bolt with a hex head on it that's the right size before. I clamped the bolt on the threads with a pair of vice grips or something and then you can use the bolt head as a hex wrench. 🙂
Great suggestion, necessity is the mother of invention! 😊 👍🏻👍🏻

An Oliver owner on the Olive Facebook page passed on his purchase of this 1/2” hex head wrench off of Amazon. It’s used to tighten the city and fresh water fittings on the Oliver and its compact, easily storable, space saver, works perfectly. My city water fitting was loose, and not anymore.
I feel like this was a little expensive for this tool and had trouble locating it anywhere else. Lowes, HD and even our local hardware had nothing in available. You may want to shop it for a cheaper price. It’s also a good time to check both your city and fresh inlet water screens.

Yes, we do! So helpful!
The other brand that folks installed couldn't be operated from the closed screen door. Useless, imo. Who wants to open the door, to operate the blind?
Thank you, very much.
I could see operating your blind from the side, and squinting out.
You are welcome. Having our Ollie here at home I can usually get a photo to help out of someone needs one.
It certainly provides solid privacy when using the shower, blocking out the hot sun, sleeping, or having a little quiet dinner at the dinette. It’s a pretty easy straight forward install. Unfortunately my original glass was really glued in solid and did not just pop out of the frame. So I replaced the frame and glass. It’s all Topgun2’s fault, he turned us onto this mod. 😄

If I were going to go to the work to change our for clear glass, I'd "probably " go for the interior shade upgrade above. I do like your thinking.
Has anyone installed the Zarcor " upside down," so that you could pull down the shade from the top? Or, how does that work?
If I went to the trouble of changing the window, I'd like to be able to just look out the top inch or so. Does it operate with the screen door closed and locked, with the door locked?
The Zarcor blind has a little tiny lever at the bottom of the windows edge on the inside which you push left or right and it flips the mini blinds from open to closed. It’s nice to close for privacy or if you need to block out unwanted CG lights. The blinds are vertical so the all open when you slide the little lever. It will operate with the screen door and door locked by just sliding the plastic access panel open to the main door. Our screen door has no lock. “Every picture tells a story” a famous song by a British singer you guess who?
Ha ..so here goes-Blind now closed. You can see the off white access handle with the little knob. You slide this left to right to open and close the blind. The access door to the main door is open.
Blind open and handle pushed to the left. Access door closed.- 1

@Katjo
Here is my Zarcor window shade write up for anyone interested - we reeeeeally like this mod. 😊I highly recommend if your going to the trouble to change out the glass, take it to the next level and add the blind it’s a good safety mod allowing you to see who is knocking. 👍🏻

Not familiar with these fittings. We used “Whale” fittings on our boat, and the were secured by just pushing them together. To remove, you push in and while holding the insert tab with thumb, pull apart. Are these like the Whale fittings?
Oliver Service calls these “Compression fittings” not familiar with whale fittings as I have never owned a boat. As mentioned you tighten by hand by turning the compression fitting clockwise as it is threaded and snug it tight. It’s important to not over tighten or you could split or break this fitting. If you have not checked any of them, I highly recommend you do. It’s a regular check on our maintenance list.

I will, thanks. On top of this, we had a huge downpour, and now the windows are leaking, not the rear window, but two of the others!
I am beyond frustrated
Thank you!
Margaret,
You may want to pull your window seals out and inspect and clean the track beneath that seal. Clean the seals as well. The seals will easily go right back in after you remove them. Any dirt or debris that builds up in the window track will not allow water to properly drain through the exterior window weep holes. When the weep holes are blocked the water will over flow and eventually leak into your interior.
We use an air compressor or you can use compressed air in a can to help in cleaning these tracks out. We clean the window tracks about every second or third wash and have not had any issues.
Hope this helps.Patriot

I feel your pain! That looks like some of my caulking jobs. I do have a couple of new questions. Has the wet spot under the weep hole dried up or is it still a chemical spill? Did the yellowing caulk precede the ceramic coating process? Do you still believe the moisture in the closet was a result of the ceramic coating?
Mossey
Mossey, great questions.
I too wonder if the ceramic coating chemical may have discolored or caused a discoloration inadvertently applied to the caulk. I don’t recall seeing caulking turn this color on a new Oliver. Anyone else who has had their Ollie recently ceramic coated might be able to a answer this. Yes, the caulk job is sloppy. A work ticket for sure with service, Oliver will surely take care of these issues. 👍🏻

As others have mentioned, take it to Oliver and they will make it look like new, they do excellent work. I would not take it to any local Fiberglas or gelcoat shop. Oliver knows fiberglass, its what they do and do well. 😊

@John and Jodi also consider checking ALL of your white compression fittings on the curb side under belly area where your waterlines lay in the belly of the Ollie floor. If one of these fittings are loose and they do loosen ask me how I know😅, just hand tighten only and recheck to see if you have any further leaks. A blue shop paper towel aid in showing you if any or which ones are leaking or even seeping. Try this using your pump and then try this with just your city water on.
Any loose compression fitting can allow enough water to travel to that scupper if your Ollie is just slightly nose down.
I find myself checking all of these fittings before and after long trips. After a good hand tightening I have not had any come loose. You can also install foam rubber pipe insulation to reduce the vibration between the plastic connectors and the Ollie interior shell.
You many already know what a compression fitting looks like, incase you don’t here is a pic of a white compression fittings look like. Don’t over tighten these as there is a potential for it to break or split, it’s only plastic. A good gentle snug tightening has served me well.
Hope this helps!- 7

We would love to build a similar Ollie Hangar (that set up is so beautiful in the photo)!!😍
If you ever decide to order/build an “Ollie Hangar” shoot me a pm. We learned quite few important details in our due diligence while vetting and selecting a business that sells and builds steel structures. 👍🏻

We have the newer lighter weight cover from Calmark which we purchased from Oliver last summer. It is easier for two people naturally with ladders to install the cover. It’s not difficult but it is not a quick on and quick off procedure either, there are some gymnastics involved 😅. We always install the cover on the curb side and sit it on the awning and unravel it from this point. Others may have a magical way, but this worked for us.
We used it last winter for the first time when we winterized and stored our Ollie here at our home. We used foam pool noodles on the sharp angled corners to reduce wear and tear on the cover. Corners such as the solar panels, rear bumper, entry steps. We had no visible signs of scratching or marring of our Ollies finish at all. Naturally without a cover you will begin to see some dulling or oxidation of the gel coat and you will reeeeally need to stay ahead of that with waxing and buffing. With the price tag of new Olivers creeping up year after year, we opted to take the best possible care of our Ollies finish.
That said and here is another option to the Calmark cover-
Last Friday, July 29th after a lot of previous research, planning, and due diligence we had a custom built “RV port” or as we call it an “Ollie Hangar” built on our property in our backyard area and are very happy with the results. We used a local Mt Airy, North Carolina company called - steelbuidlingsandstructures.com This NC company is an engineered certified steel structure builder which meets and exceeds our State and County’s code requirements for wind and snow. It does exactly what we intend it to do- keep our Ollie out of the UV, and elements. The crew installed it in a day and a half so we feel it is well worth the investment for us. We also like the convenience of taking off in the winter months without wrestling with the cover standing on ladders and all the gymnastics that goes with it. This structure is fully covered by our homeowners policy, note - some policies do not cover out buildings. We have 30 amp shore power so no issues with battery maintenance. Just another option.
“Ollie Hangar” located on Blueberry HillDemenions - 13X25X11H
“Back Stage” as we like to call it. 😅 Our home LED motion sensor lights put a lamp on ourpath for a few minutes when we walk out to the hangar.
