Nothing noted…. I’m going to ride in the OTT while D drives thru the neighborhood as before we upgraded them to “feel” the before/after….

    Hey Max,

Ask your bride to keep it under 100 while you’re in the Ollie. 😄

I called and spoke to a super nice Truma customer service rep named Sherry. She said that there are no plans to update the Truma Aventa AC fan to cycle off after the unit has cooled the interior down. According to Sherry, it is necessary for the Truma fan to continually run to enable the internal thermostat to measure and monitor interior temperature. So no change in the works. Honestly the low speed fan running does not bother us. We really are happy with our Truma.

    Other info:
I asked if Truma was going to sell or incorporate a soft start for the 13.5 Aventa? She said no, that installing a soft start would cancel out any remaining warranty.

    Happy Cool Travels!

The added piece of channel is only stitch welded (doubled) onto the channel welded to the mainframe on our Ollie. The doubled piece could be removed by cutting the stitch welds off with a 4" grinder. One side is stitch welded on the bottom and the other side is stitch welded on the top.

To give more strength additional cross-members could be welded on (added) in different areas, if needed.

This has me wondering why the original cross-member was doubled when all others were not. I have not inspected the campers with the new frame like Patriot's, but guessing none of their cross-members were doubled.

    Bill,

You’re always welcome to come by and take a look under XPLOR. Yes it has cross-members.

    Good news Patriot.

Just noticed the yellow "thing" on your spring shackle.  What is it?

    thanks.   GJ

My local Dexter rep told me the yellow paint swatch is to quickly identify a particular spring in their warehouse.  I noticed the painted end is also where the leafs are steel banded together.

After talking with @rideandfly I went out to the Ollie Hangar and rolled up under “XPLOR” and took a good hard look at ALL the frame/chassis welds. All appear to be solid.

Like anything thing else a regular visual inspection should be a part of regular maintenance checklist.

  6. Nice job Bill!
Please post up how often you need to empty your dehumidifier. We usually empty ours about every 5 days or so. Ours sits down on the floor in front of the closet door. We can just open the door, turn off the Pro Breeze and empty it.

  7. We empty our Pro Breeze condensate tank usually about every 5 days. It has an auto shut off in the any event if we are delayed in emptying it. So far we have had zero issues with mold or mildew and we factor this into our maintenance cost keeping XPLOR mold and mildew free during high seasonal high humidity. We don’t run the dehumidifier below 45 degrees or in the winter months.

Talked to the race car shop this morning and he can weld Ollie's frame later this week or next week. He wanted to know what kind of aluminum Ollie's frame was made out of, so I contacted Oliver service department this morning and Mike replied quickly this morning letting me know it's made out of 6061 aluminum. The race car shop was very happy to hear Ollie's frame is made out of a very good quality of aluminum. 🙂

It will look better than new Bill, great work on locating a solid shop. 👍🏻😊

I took a wet paper towel and ran it along the track.  That seemed to take care of the fuzzy look.  I will keep the night shades up a couple inches as I had them completely closed before.  I did check the drain holes and they're free of debris.  Thanks for your comments.

    John

    John,

Consider a can of compressed air to help clear the window tracks of debris. This has worked well for me in the past. 👍🏻

To answer your original question on the best portable electric dehumidifier. I am sure there are other options out there, but this is what we use and it has worked great for the last few years. We also really like how quickly our Truma in dehumidify mode works. We also keep our frig door slightly cracked open during storage while running the dehumidifier. Naturally mold and mildew usually will not thrive with moving air.

I salute you and your bride for your 750’ climb! So very wise to get it done early. 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

From your comment, and this picture:

It appears that the Truma is mounted on about a 3" high platform to allow the A/C vertical height for the condensate to drain over to the OTT internal drain lines.  Creative solution.

The stock OE2 on level ground with the full diameter (16")  rims/tires and the Dometic Penguin AC is 9' 8".  Any idea how tall it is with the pictured A/C and drain kit installed?

    GJ

According to the new brochure (linked) it shows the Truma Aventa in the photo on the OLEll at 9’ 8”. Our 2020 LEll has the 16” wheels.
I believe in late 22 YM and 23, and 24 YM Oliver went to the smaller wheel/tire set up which would reduce overall height. I have never measured the exact height of XPLOR post our Truma install. Given the slight slope or drop where the new fiberglass foundation to accommodate the Truma retro fit was installed, I will go with what Oliver states as the overall height being 9’ 8”. This is also listed in the 24 YM info packet.

Who knows why there are 700 foot sand dunes in South Central Colorado?

When we visited the Great Sand Dunes there was a really neat 30 minute movie talking all about the natural phenomenon that occurs in this part of CO. I did not commit all the information to memory, but here is the explanation of how Mother Nature created the Dunes which we both thought was pretty cool. 😊

In a snap shot - Wind from the northeast funnels through the Sangre de Christo Mountains and pushes against the opposing southwestern winds, which erodes additional sand from the mountain sides and brings it into the dune system.

    Wait there is more-
