  1. Maybe discuss some of the new ideas OTT is implementing concerning airflow throughout the bathroom and underdeck areas, and ways to better insulate areas that need it. John
  2. I agree, John, but Norcold says differently. Sorry but I don't have a link, the weatherstripping was in an open container. I did use a metal foil tape. I'll probably go back and completely cover the hole you circled in your post. Thanks, John
  3. Didn't think about condensation possibilities, GJ. I think I might fill the void with block styrofoam, then tape over. The 2020 Elite 2's seem to have something like that. Thanks, John
  4. Sorry for the delay...was havin' too much fun :) The thin weatherstripping, from Lowes, has adhesive on one side, was somewhat of a challenge to get installed. Put on top and both sides of control panel.
  5. No solution as far as I know. I'm not saying or suggesting you do what I did as the warranty will be nullified according to Norcold and OTT, but I taped over the space between the cardboard on the outside and put foam insulation around the control panel, inside, and got the breeze to stop in the cabin. Norcold told me the space is for air circulation. I looked at previous models of the Oliver 2's with the same Norcold unit and there is no space visible from the outside as a foam block resides on top of the fridge and is completely taped up with foil tape. Since the Norcold models were the same as mine, I figure if there are no issues with theirs, which there weren't (as I checked with the owners), I'll take my chances with my fix. That was 9 months ago and my unit operates the same as before my "fix". We've experienced +15 to 105 degrees during that time. My unit is now 15 months old. If I prematurely age the unit I'll replace it when I have to. I'm just saying how I finally addressed the issue and am NOT suggesting you do what I did. No more breezes and fumes! And, of course, no more warranty. John
  6. Very nice link....but I don't think that double occupancy routine can be accomplished on Wendy's bass ukulele
  7. We might be able to help with bass and guitar, not professionals but like to have fun :) John
  8. Hi Vic and Wanda, Glad things are working out. I'm working on trying to figure out how to install a Victron Smart Shunt for my AGM batteries ( in the Bat cave, lol). See ya'll at the rally!! John
  9. Hi Bill, Too bad engineers don't have to use the equipment they design. :) This is a bit off topic and I apologize but you mentioned it in your post. We swapped our AC out for the Truma...Oliver's service did it. As it was done less than a month ago, I don't know if it will keep up with the summer heat. I will tell you that I didn't realize the fan runs all the time in auto, the compressor just kicks in and out, but it's hardly noticeable. From what I understand the Houghtons do the same thing. I was told it was designed like that to keep the whole unit from cycling on and off, thus preventing unnecessary wear and tear on the unit. It is much quieter and I suggest you see it in action for yourself and determine if it's good or bad for you. For me...I think I would do it again given Dometic's disaster of A/C engineering. Here ends my rant! John
  10. As a safety precaution, check your "gas stop" brand pigtail for leaks. Both of mine had small leaks at the 90 degree bend where the chrome fitting goes into the brass elbow. I'm send them back soon and trying a different brand. Probably bad luck but I figured to just try another brand. John
  11. Thanks, V Bistro! I thought I was sent the wrong size hoses. However after replacing the first hose , it leaked around the hose by the Acme connector. I replaced with the other hose I had been sent (package of 2) and the second hose leaked from the same area. Will be sending back to amazon. Be sure to leak check after replacing. My original hose are back on and leak free. Moral for me...don't fix if it ain't broke! John
  12. Just happened to us as well. Followed Steph and Dud B, and Conner77's lead and the result was "a fix"! Yay :) John
  13. Can't seem to edit the title, the body of the post I can edit. If a moderator is avail please change title to Shackle flipped on trailer suspension... John
  14. Edit,,,since you had 2 people respond with the same problem and had newer trailers than mine, another assumption (yes, I know about assumptions) is if Oliver thought the stems were bad they wouldn't have let more out the gate without the fix. SO please disregard my previous post :(
  15. Gliddenwoods, We received a package of 5 stems from Oliver and, I think a $25 card for a shop to swap out the valve stems last year. I was under the assumption that the installed stems on our 2022 OL II were defective and these new stems were the fix but since I am waiting for the pressures to go down, and have not for a long time, I haven't replaced any of them. You might contact service if they didn't send you any stems. Don't know if any of this info will help but, for me, the stems just showed up in the mail with a brief explanation of what was going on with them. Best of luck, John
  16. Hi Gap, We are also 20 degrees F at the moment, unwinterized and without the vent mod, and have the forward dinette panel slightly open to allow airflow back to the furnace fan. It seems to help a little. I've seen 18 F the last couple of nights and upper 20's daytime. We also monitor the area around the furnace and water heater via a sensor. If I turn the water heater on a couple times a day and the furnace set to 70, it seems to keep that one monitored area above 38. As for the basement area, I'm unable to monitor at this time. I guess this long dissertation begs the question...is it helpful to put a vent under the dinette seat and how big of a vent did you make? John
