    Cigars!

Sounds Like Cigars and Cognac at the Next Oliver Rally! Can't wait.
  2. Pretty sure they have a 5 year shelf life. 2017 / 2018 trailers are pretty close to done. We replaced ours last year.
  3. For a while now I have been wondering how Dometic was going to answer Truma's debut into the American RV market. This may be their answer. The RTX 2000. They say it's quiet. In this video they only run it on high but it's not installed so you hear noise from above and below. (outside and inside if it was installed) It will be interesting to see what becomes of this. Maybe at the least people have another choice to consider for upgrade.
  4. I have been following this thread closely... We have the Dometic Penguin. I am a bit disappointed.... I have been checking the A/C regularly..... So far not a single Penguin.
  5. Wow... that was an informing video. Electric tow vehicle.. On your next trip I think you should practice unhooking your trailer every time you fill up with gas. I think that would put the issue to bed in one trip. Also wondering where the electricity is coming from at their charging locations. Might have been a lot of coal used to power that trip. And this coming from a guy whose second car is a Prius. And I love the 45mpg I get from it. Just not for long trips and towing. Scotty
  6. I just quickly checked the web page and 7,700 was what was listed. That will change depending on the model and options etc. Whatever TV you decide on.. before you buy.. Get out your Sherlock Holmes Magnifying Glass and in a Lawyer frame of mind and read the manual regarding towing very carefully. The fine print can be a killer. My comfort level was having about a 30% buffer in capacity. So, 11,000 lbs. capacity will do that for you. But check on the need for a WDH. My guess is you will need one to be compliant. Most half ton pickups REQUIRE them. Now that doesn't mean the half tons won't tow an LE2 quite handily without one... but it does mean if there is an accident and you don't have a WDH when it's required... some attorney might have you for lunch. Good Luck and let us know how you make out.
  7. Heat = Fan on AUTO A/C = Fan on LOW Good Luck
  8. Hi Roadlotus... Welcome and Condolences. I have read through this thread and other family members have voiced the concern regarding TV that I was thinking. We tow with a 150 and it does the job fine. We do watch our payload, but going simpler has proven to be ok. Though we are not anywhere close to full time. Here's my advice.... A.) Get the best half ton truck you can. Use the money you won't be paying on the Rivian. It's too new, too limited in range, and in my opinion, too limited in towing capacity. 7,700 lbs for a trailer that has a GVWR of 7k... just too close for comfort in my book OR B.) Have you considered an elite? Lower weight means that Rivian might just do the trick. If you have your heart set on it that is. Maybe after you've full timed for a while you might go back to land based living in a condo or such and the smaller rig might be just the thing for extended trips. In any case, best of luck to you and please let us know how you make out. Scotty
  9. Thanks for including the Flying Sea Turtle in the second picture. Happy trails and sunsets. Scotty
  10. Last time I talked to Tali she said Steve aims for people on bicycles. 🥸
  11. Not trying to second guess your actions….. you were there and I was not. But it might prove an interesting discussion on A.) Evasive maneuvers vs. B.) taking the hit. I think most towing swerve accidents are not due to the initial avoidance but to trying to get back on course. Kind of like flipping an SUV…. The second swerve which brings the weight back past C/G is the one that gets you. I’ve often thought that if a tire on one side left the shoulder I would opt for stopping instead of trying to get back on the road. I’m sure there are some stories out there of stuff that worked and stuff that didn’t.
  12. If you do discover an Airtag on your Oliver... Please post it on this forum. I'm sure some owners who live fairly close by will come over and help you set the trap to catch the thieves. Only rule is no turning them over to the police. Oliver Justice... Muhahahahaha.
  13. No need to reverse the switches..... Just think differently. When you want the ass end of the trailer to go up.... push the switch UP. When you want the trailer to go down.. push the switch DOWN. Easy peasy.
  14. Suction Cups... We've forgotten it on a few times and it did not fall off in transit. Think this is the one. https://www.amazon.com/BOPai-Suction-Removeable-Adhesive-Premium/dp/B01EN8UWJS/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1MKUDWUMQ2IW5&keywords=suction%2Bcup%2Btowel%2Bbar&qid=1654175282&s=home-garden&sprefix=suction%2Bcup%2Btowel%2Bbar%2Cgarden%2C72&sr=1-1-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFLVlNRSEpPUFYyRkomZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTAyOTEyMjBFRUVUMUhNNEowVE0mZW5jcnlwdGVkQWRJZD1BMDQzMTQ1NTNRTlc4Qk9NWVlFOEYmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1
  15. Here is what we use... Not large but good enough for a towel or a couple of bathing suits.
  16. And remember..... If you don't have a bottle jack..... A bottle of Jack will help you pass the time while you pay someone else to do the wheel bearings.
  17. Yeah in that first video where they show prying out the bearing.... it last all of 2 and a half seconds and that if you slow it down to 25%. It's almost as if they want it to be a big secret. Thanks for posting it though Jim. Scotty
  18. On the propane tank carried in the basket.... We have the 30 lbs tanks and they are more than enough. If I were to do it again.... I would get the 20 lbs tanks and replace them with two Blue Rhino's from Lowes or HD. Then when on the road I would run one dry... switch to the full one and trade out the empty at the next stop. I don't see the need to carry an extra unless you are boondocking for an extended period of time. Also, it seems to me that a propane tank on the basket would be an easy pick up for a thief. Just my $.02. Good Luck
  19. Awwwwww..... Come on! I was looking forward to the lengthy argument on the importance of electricity!
  20. I did not know that. Thanks for the info. Scotty
  21. I would ask for my money back. If a weapon was supposed to be in the box and was deleted... you should be compensated. Dang!... now you've got me wondering what kind of weapon was in there. 1911? Knife? Ma Deuce? ... no the box would have had to be bigger. Sorry you got cheated out of the bonus weapon.
  22. So.. interesting video.. For Oliver owners we can expect a modest savings moneywise while on the road. More reading and leisure time while waiting for the EV to charge... a LOT more reading time considering we will have to charge every 100 miles or so. BUT... if we charge at home we can expect up to an 80% savings. No problem... I never tow my Oliver more than 50 miles from home anyway.
  23. Yeah... what's up with that? Not Twin Fall, Boise, Idaho Falls. Nor Helena, Billings and near Missoula Montana. It's like they are purposefully missing the large population centers. Collusion with cable? Where are the Hardy Boys when you need them?
  24. Yep... But... Thinking that many folks pay over 200 per month for a cable / phone / internet connection. So, $110 for Starlink plus just basic cable might equal a small savings overall. Not ready to make the jump yet but... maybe when they get service at our home location.
