Beautiful! Mountains, lake, trees, large sites, uncrowded (at least in early November). I hear it's PACKED in the summer.

Went camping this past weekend (Nov 4-6) at Shaver Lake, CA. Temps were 20 to 46 degrees throughout our stay. The last night, the heater would only blow cool air. We just bundled up for the night. Turns out we had plenty of propane; everything else was working. I searched the Ollie sight the next day (found something once) where someone had the same problem. I took off the exterior heater panel and checked connections; all secure. I blew into the compartment with my own breath and force and a very small amount of dust came out (hull 1019 is less than a year old) Turned on the furnace again, and it worked! What's up with that?

Closet Door/Fire Extinguisher Bolts Too Long
Dave Mazone replied to Gliddenwoods's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Everybody should know that something always has to be wrong with anything. Since the Ollie is such a fine work, why not make these bolts too long so the owners have something to complain about. Lol (Making light, but my wife cut her arm on one too, when the rubber cap fell off.) -
Campo Alto - Cerro Noroeste - aka Mt. Able, CA
Dave Mazone replied to Dave Mazone's topic in Campgrounds & Parks
Bill, he's somewhere aboit 110 lbs. He's 2 years and 3 months old. What a camping buddy he is! -
Between LA and Bakersfield, tucked about 17 miles west of I5. It's a dry camp, but beautiful. It's at almost 9000 feet.

except the trunks

I use a couple of them. One for paper towels and the other for my waste bag. They hold for a day or two, then a couple pumps on the push rod to tighten them up (the pushrod shows when the suction is waning). They're neat, clean and good looking on the white interior. And, you can move them easily!

Thank you. -
Not even! Good conversation, John.

Hi, Many of those big trees are Sequoias. My wife hasn't shared the pics of the really big ones with me yet. Those ground'out holes are indian bath tubs (no joke).

Gotcha. TV added (thanks). Yes on the. Controller (I didn't know how to properly set it...I believe I figured it out. Thanks.

Ps: the water wasn't really brown; decently clear, actually. This was just a combination of view point and perhaps a dirt botton.

Hi John, It was the only road recommended for trailers (I think the optional route was being worked on). We did use low, but it was probably better that I learned I had a bad adjustment. The road was all paved, until you got into the campgrounds, but no trouble there. Yes, on bears, although we didn't see any or have any problems. Thanks for the location tip, I'll be sure to mention that in future posts.

Went and boondocked at Balch Park in CA for a couple days. Last 20 miles was narrow, windy and relatively steep road, but worth it! Had severe brake fade on the way down; discovered I didn't have the trailer brakes adjusted properly so the truck was doing all the work. Last day my wife said it had rained most the night...not! That turned out to be a little tinny sound from the heater; like a pieve of tin foil was in the vent. Had aperfectly good time with the wife, dog (Dash) and our Ollie. 🙂

Covered storage, AGM batteries & Zamp controller.

I have a similar circumstance. 1) If the inverter is turned off (and everything else except the solar), can I expect the batteries to maintain, and if not, how long before I'm in trouble. 2) If I connect to 110 power via an adapter, will the batteries charge? Thanking you in advance. -
Yep. I surmised that's exactly it. It seems to finally be receiving some "juice" from the rising sun and it wakes up.

Ceramic coating on a new trailer
Dave Mazone replied to John and Debbie's topic in General Discussion
So, all, what can one expect a detailer to charge for say a wax or a ceramic service? I live in California, so I'll double yoir figure and tax myself to death. -
Oil the foyables Foy, what is the oil you recommend for the shower mat?

Hello fellow Ollies, I purchased a Blackstone Tailgater Combo that I cannot seem to find a quick connect fitting that will work. It seems to need a 5/8" female 90 degree connector at the grill and I am stumped at finding one. Anyone solve a similar dilemma? (FYI: the tailgater and the tailgater combo ARE different and do not use the same fitting.)

How to Insert Rear Window Screen
Dave Mazone replied to Alberta and Randy's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Mine did the same thing. It really does go back in easily. However, my son was with me. He's an engineer. He installed it for me. I don't remember how. I have his number. Want it? - lol -
Hi John, #1: We seem to always use our front 30 amp hookup. I don't have to load and unload the generator from my truck that way. It also gives you the option of keeping the noise down, depending on what side of the trailer you're spending most of your time (outside the trailer). #2. Yes. #3. Why not 30# and save space? We use our basket for firewood and it's paraphernalia. #4. It does get in the way a little bit while ahowering. It also could use a little better design to close-off the toilet area better. Overall though, glad we got it. PS the Foy shower mat is a good idea. #5. I don't know. No experience. Blessings.

Thanks bhncb. I did turn off the switch and turned it back on after the sun came out and all was normal. But yes, it was a "U", or the worst "v" ever.

Greetings all, Have been camping and this morning woke up to my Zamp panel flashing. One screen was normal and showing that it was charging, the other just showed "12U". Anyone know what my problem was? I haven't found an answer in the manual or our group. Thc in advance.

I have the levelmate pro. I velcroed it inside the coat closet. Worked great the first week. I'm experiencing frequent loss of connections though. Generally while I'm in the cab backing onto my levelers. However, even when I'm at the hitch I seem to lose the connection for the hitch height return. I can't imagine it's the batteries already, but I haven't checked. When it's working, wow does it make things easy!
