  1. Instead of trying to create more grey water storage, it seems to me like it would be easer and more practical to place an additional fresh water tank in place of the black tank. Since the location is higher, all you'd have to do is extend the existing fill lines to the new tank and then add a gravity drain to the main tank. Then you'd have over 50 gallons of fresh water storage.
  2. I was thinking about carrying a couple rolls of casting tape, though I don't know if you can really get a watertight seal with that. And of course you'd have to do some sanding to get it to stick. But it might be of use if you need something structural.
  3. I thought the connection in the Wynn's video was the common drain and that they just put a third valve on the end. Or maybe I misunderstood what they did, or misunderstand how the Oliver's tanks are connected. Oliver needs to let me 'borrow' a trailer for a while so I can properly research these things. edit - looks like Bill beat me to it!
  4. Looks like they did a great job. I wonder if it would be wise to carry a fiberglass repair kit for these emergencies.
  5. Not knowing the layout or dimensions of the tanks, it's hard for me to guess how difficult it would be for them to switch them up. If I remember correctly, the fresh water is on the passenger side and the black is on the driver side, so connecting them together might mean adding pumps or connections which would be difficult or even impossible to service once the tubs are put together. The other solution I guess would be to swap the sides of the fresh/grey tanks - I don't know how difficult that would be. It's always been a mystery to me why the grey tank is larger than the fresh water tank to begin with. It's not an ideal solution, I admit - but I'm pleased that Oliver understands that people are looking for alternatives to the black tank, and they are at least searching for solutions.
  6. I knew that I'd seen that somewhere. It looks great. We had asked Robert about this very thing when we toured the factory. This was before I'd seen your photos, and he told me then that they didn't have a good solution for use with the fiber granite. We talked about a few options - specifically about mounting the bottom of the divider to the side of the cabinet using metal spacers so that the divider could clear the edge of the countertop, as opposed to attaching to the top. I'd be curious if their new option is like yours or more like what he and I talked about - though either would be fine for me. Regardless, it's nice to know that they're listening and responding to what prospective buyers are looking for. We had also asked about an induction cooktop and a frosted glass look for the upper cabinet doors, both of which are now options (not that I take credit for any of that - I assume we are one of many who've asked for the same).
  7. It's a deterrent against tailgaters.
  8. Looks like it's an $800 option, which I guess is about the retail difference between the nature's head and the domestic flush toilet they were using. I wish Oliver could offer a better deal, but I'm not sure I can fault them. At $950 retail, the nature's head is ridiculously priced for what it is - a glorified bucket. So we're putting this on the 'to be considered' list for now. Things like this will really depend on prioritizing other options we want, plus what kind of discount can be had from Oliver when it comes time to deal.
  9. Going back to the start of this discussion - I was surprised when people say that water comes through the space between the awning and the shell. It just seems like either Fiamma or Oliver would have thought of that and that it wouldn't be too difficult to attach some sort of seal. So I dug a bit deeper and I saw that Fiamma does in fact sell a number of different rain guards for different types of mountings - you can see the different profiles here: http://www.fiamma.com/EN/products/fiammastore/accessories/rain%5Fguard/ But in my photos from our factory visit, it looks like Oliver is using a seal, but it doesn't match anything that I see on the Fiamma site: It looks like it should work, but I wonder if there's a reason they aren't using the Fiamma parts or if replacing or adding one of their seals would solve the problem. Or it could be that Oliver is using a Fiamma rain guard, but this one just isn't listed on their site, or what we see in the photo is an extra seal in addition to a Fiamma guard behind it. Just tossing it out there for discussion.
  10. It's not you. Oliver's site has never been the fastest, but the new update has made it really slow, not just the forum, but their entire site. Mid day, it's excruciatingly slow. I don't know if they're trying to host the site themselves, but it slow enough to wonder if they are. Regardless, it's something they should probably prioritize, because it's potentially a real true off to prospective buyers. I think the difference among your browsers is likely the way they load and display the pages. Safari tends to wait until it has all the info before it shows the page. In addition to the load times, I've had issues with posts not posting on Safari Mac, and had to go to my iPad to post. Conversely, I have a problem on my iPad where Safari won't display anything other than the cached version of the site.
  11. There are a few other options that I see on the new price sheets (thanks to Laps for letting me know it was out) - Composting Toilet Option Macerator Option (Thetford Sani Con System) Auto Drain for grey and black tanks It says standard cabinet door face is "Frosted", with options for mirrored, black and white. I assume that's for the overhead cabinet doors. 2 options for A/C, the Dometic Penguin II with and without heat pump Dexter EZ Flex Divider Wall between the kitchen/bed - I'd like to see a photo of this. It's a much needed option, IMO, especially if you opt for the twin bed risers.
  12. I see on the new price sheet that they are also offering the Thetford Sani Con system, which looks like a really nice option if you want to go the macerator route. And also an auto drain option for the grey/black tanks. My wife and I went through all the Wynns' videos on the composting toilets last night, and we're sold. It's one of those things that sounds awful at first but the more you learn and think about it , the more sense it makes. I wonder if there's a way/option to plumb the urine tank directly into the grey water?
  13. Awesome. I need to email them to get the current options list. Thanks for the heads up!
  14. I was doing some suspension research this morning and came across two similar solutions from Lippert that might be of interest, the EquaFlex and the Centerpoint Air Ride. The EquaFlex is identical in concept to the EZ Flex, but perhaps is a bit softer. The CenterPoint replaces the bushing with an air bag system which, while obviously complex, looks like it could really help out on rough roads. It also looks like it would raise the suspension a fair amount and provide a good bit more suspension travel. This might be a better solution for those of us who are considering an overslung axle for added ground clearance. https://store.lci1.com/equa-flex-suspension-enhancement https://store.lci1.com/center-point-kit-tandem
  15. The bigger sink will be a plus - one of the things on our 'ask' list was if we could supply a different sink & faucet for them to install. I'd like to see the new bath faucet. I like the one they have now so I'm curious. Same with the radio. Water pumps are water pumps to me, so long as they work. The Remcos do look like stout units though. Curious which model they're going to use. Microwave is interesting so again I'm curious which model - they make some combo convection units which I might be interested in. Otherwise we were going to delete that option since we aren't microwavers. I'll be very disappointed if the top hinge windows didn't make the cut this year, and it looks like they didn't.
  16. Looks like some of the info is starting to go up... New Kitchen & Bathroom Faucet New Deeper & Wider Kitchen Sink New Easy-Snap Propane Cover Latches New Jensen Radio New Countoure Microwave New Remco Water Pump
  17. Yikes - we've been waiting on the 2017's before ordering, and waiting on the 2017 F150's, too. Order banks for the F150 open up in about a month and now this - makes me nervous all of a sudden.
  18. Thanks for the info. We're planning on getting a multi-axis hitch so no Anderson for us. So it looks like we'll definitely need the air bags. There's a company that makes a pneumatic bump stop for the F150 that might be a good choice though it comes with a hefty price tag. But of course it shouldn't be nearly as prone to failure as an air bag.
  19. How much compression are you guys getting in the rear suspension? We're waiting on the new F150 Raptor to come out before ordering and my only concern is that with the softer suspension on that model we'll need to install air bags to compensate.
  20. Interesting mod. So it looks like you get about 30 seconds worth of high-pressure water then you say a 2 minute wait while it recharges - I'd have to experiment to see if that would work for us. The water pressure in your first video isn't at all acceptable - something has to be wrong with either the pump or the installation.
  21. Seeing those storage risers is what sealed the deal for us on the twin beds. Another thing to think about is that access to the overhead storage in the rear is much easier with the twin bed arrangement.
  22. I was told that they were considering the flush awning windows for the 2017's - it's one of the reasons we don't mind waiting a bit before ordering. I agree on the fridge - it would be nice to have options, but as mentioned, the fiberglass mould is a big limitation. I was told that we could use whatever fridge we wanted, so long as it fit, so we'll see. I'm not a fan of the absorption fridges, and what we'd like to have is an Isotherm INOX unit. Ideally we wanted the side by side 200 series, but obviously that won't fit. We're considering a drawer unit, but the ultimate solution might be the 2nd fridge in the truck. I also agree on the portable induction - we're thinking about asking Ollie to just eliminate the cooktop and instead get a couple of single burner induction units plus carry our current butane stoves for emergency backup. We're going to set up our truck with a rooftop tent over the bed, for camping excursions beyond where we'd be comfortable taking the Ollie, so having duplicates of things like the fridge, burners, etc. isn't an issue for us. I'm all for the window over the galley.
