Recommended Posts

  • Moderators

As Per James Cobb at Trojan Battery Company the values to be used in the Blue Sky IPN ProRemote charge controller and battery system monitor for the Trojan T-105 batteries (assuming the standard four T-105 lead acid batterys Oliver uses with the solar option) are as follows:

(under "Advanced Display Menu")

1.  Bat Amp-hrs -                              450

2.  Set CHGEFCY Mode -               AUTO

3.  Set Self-Dischg -                         10% / month

4.  Set Maximum Bat Volts -          16.2 volts

(under " Set Bat Charge Pararmeters")

1.  Set Accept Chg                              14.8 volts

2.  Set Float Chg                                13.5 volts

3.  Set Equaliz Chg                            16.2 volts

4.  Set Equaliz Time                           2-4 hours

5.  Set Auto Equaliz Time                 30 days (factory setting)

6.  Set T-Comp Slope                        -5.00 mV/C/C  (factory setting)

7.  Set Float Curent                             2.0A/100AH

8.  Set Accept Time                              2-4 hours

NOTE:

The above parameters are to be used ONLY for the T-105 lead acid batteries.  See page 7/8, figures 4 and 5, of the Blue Sky Energy IPN-ProRemote "Installation and Operation Manual".  This manual can be found either in the Oliver Owners Manual or at:

http://www.blueskyenergyinc.com/uploads/pdf/Manual_BSE_IPN-ProRemote.pdf

Hope this helps!

The following information was received from James Cobb at the Trojan Battery Company.  These parameter settings should be used ONLY for the four Trojan T-105 lead acid batteries as used by Oliver with the solar option on the Elite II.

The Blue Sky Energy IPN-ProRemote Battery Charge Parameters Setup Menu should be accessed and reviewed as per pages seven and eight (figures 4 and 5) of the "Installation and Operation Manual".  This manual can be found either as a part of the Oliver Owners manual or at the following:

http://www.blueskyenergyinc.com/uploads/pdf/Manual_BSE_IPN-ProRemote.pdf

Once in the "Setup Menu" set the parameters as follows:

1.  Set Bat Amp-Hrs -                                     450

2.  Set Chgefcy Mode -                                   Auto

3.  Set Self-Dischg -                                        10%

4.  Set Maximum Bat Volts -                         16.2

Next, go to "Set Bat Charge Parameters" and hit "sel" for select to enter the "Battery Charge Parameters Menu".  Then set the parameters as follows:

1.  Set Accept Chg -                                         14.8

2.  Set Float Chg -                                             13.5

3.  Set Equaliz Chg -                                         16.2

4.  Set Equaliz Time -                                      2-4 hours

5.  Set Auto Equaliz -                                       30 days

6.  Set Float Curent -                                       2.0A/100AH

7.  Set Accept Time -                                        2-4 hours

Any parameter input not shown above should be left at the factory setting.

Also, in response to asking about "dip switch" settings on the solar charge controller for battery "Equalization purposes", Ryan Gurin from Blue Sky Energy sent the following email: "On the the SB3024IL, you need to move DIP#5 to the "ON" position. One the SB2512IX-HV, SB2512iX & SB1524IX you move DIP#4 to the "ON" position.  On the SB3000i & SC30 you enable equalization using the set-up button, switching "EqE" to ON."

So, if you have the SB2512i(X)-HV (like I do) you will need to set the dip switch #4 to the "ON" position.  See page 7 of the Installation and Operation Manual for the charge controller  under the Setup and Wiring Diagram - figure 3.  Obviously, if you do not wish to "Equalize" your batteries you can leave this dip switch in the "off" position.

Hope this helps!

Bill

Bill,

I was actually looking for some info today on the Blue Sky IPN Pro Remote.

For those that haven't found it, they have a few videos here... http://www.blueskyenergyinc.com/faq/

And here is the manual: http://www.blueskyenergyinc.com/uploads/pdf/Manual_BSE_IPN-ProRemote.pdf

Hi Bill,

I was unable to locate Buzzy's post regarding AGM setting for the Blue Sky IPN ProRemote.  Would you be able to provide the link to the article?

Thanks,

Walter

Walter -

Unfortunately Buzzy had a number of family issues a couple of years ago along with some harassment by a few people on YouTube, so,  he took down his videos on YouTube and deleted many of his posts here on the Oliver Forum.

I'll see if I can find anything for you from him over the next couple of days.

Bill

The learning center at Blue Sky is great. So is their customer support. Ryan has answered all of our questions over the years.

Thanks All.  The thread above from mjrendon was very helpful and I believe I am ok for now.  I am in the process of replacing my batteries and determining whether to go back with AGM or Lithium.  Appears my current Trojan's are at the end of life (almost 6 years old).   I have researched the Lithium option via this forum and with assistance from Mike.  I am also looking at the AGM option and possibly going with the Bright Way Group EVGC6 - 6V 220AH Deep Cycle Golf Cart Battery which OTT have moved to from the Trojan batteries. While this option does not have all the benefits of Lithium it appears to be easier for me in terms of plug-and-play and cost for my 2015 (#104) Ollie.   The Bright Way AGM's have the same foot print of the Trojan T-105's and I would not have to replace my current PD power control center. However, I would have to reprogram the Blue Sky IPN ProRemote as the Bright Way do not have the exact characteristics of the Trojan.  Bright Way is sending me the particular spec sheet for their AGMs.  Once I have it I will send to Ryan (Blue Sky) who indicated he can provide the new settings.  Thanks everyone for your help thus far and I will let you know what I find out and will post information as received.

Thanks,

-Walter

Walter:

Where are you purchasing the Bright Way Group EVGC6 - 6V 220AH batteries from?  So far my Trojan T105's  wet cells are still hanging in.

Thanks

Horace:

Looking at getting them from "batterywholesale.com" but have not ordered yet.   In talking with Bright Way Tech (Wes Way) he indicated that Bright Way does not sale direct to the public but through distributors and recommended getting batteries with close to the same production dates (heat stamped date on top of battery) in avoid issues.  I indicated I was looking to purchase from battery wholesale.com and Wes indicated that Bright Way owns BatteryWholesale.com and the batteries come directly from his warehouse, thus there would be no issues in terms of production date mismatches.   He should be sending me the tech sheet (not on their website) next week so I can review and provide to Blue Sky who will then provide appropriate settings for the IPN ProRemote.

Thank you for the information; do you know why Oliver has switch from Trojan batteries to the Bright Way?

Horace:

I am not sure why the move away from Trojan.   I noticed the change while looking at the options for the new trailers on the Oliver web site.  I confirmed this when I requested a quote for AGM batteries and installation from OTT.  My plan is to do myself as this should not be to difficult once I obtain the batteries and Blue Sky settings.
