Mainiac
In the basement storage compartment of the LE2 there is a switch and a light. Guess I had never bent that low while looking up. I had always used a flashlight. I was looking to see what it would take to add one and "poof" there it was. Am I the only one who missed it?
Moderators topgun2 Posted November 25, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 25, 2017 Yep! I'm sure that you are the only person that has missed that light - just kidding. During the day I find this light to be fairly useless and was thinking about slaving one off of it to be placed way back in the basement. But, that is a project for another time. Mainiac
Daylight worked pretty well, I used it to finally see the light. Also will play with the idea of slave off the switch one or two puck type lights.
Moderators topgun2 Posted November 25, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 25, 2017 Or, instead of the puck type I'm thinking about the type used to light the bed of pickup trucks - available at Wally World for about $20. Cash
We knew there was one there from the long video that Buzzy has on YouTube. Also, they told us about it when we had our walk through at the factory. Cash - AKA Sitting Bull http://www.shot-in-texas.com
Moderators topgun2 Posted November 26, 2017 Moderators Share Posted November 26, 2017 As a "normal" habit I go over every thing I purchase and make adjustments to either things that were not completed correctly (at least to my standards) in the first place or to make my life easier in the long run. Knowing Anita as I do, I'm sure that she was trying to make a "funny". But, for those that have had problems these things really don't seem to be too funny. Certainly better to make those adjustments in a place where one has the tools and supplies as opposed to being out in the middle of nowhere and suddenly having a real problem. Cash
They showed it to me at the factory when I went through my walkthrough. It's really nice to have. Cash - AKA Sitting Bull http://www.shot-in-texas.com
Moderators mossemi Posted March 22, 2018 Moderators Share Posted March 22, 2018 I agree that the existing light is inadequate, so I picked up a led battery powered light at Ikea. It is a about 4” in diameter and is motion activated. I have it laying on the floor in the first corner and it helps a great deal. I may mount it on the wall in the future. I believe I have seen a similar light in a 2 or 3 pack at Home Depot. Mike and Krunch Lutz, FL 2017 LEII #193 “the dog house”
Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted March 22, 2018 Moderator+ Share Posted March 22, 2018 During our build in 2013 I asked that there be three hatches placed down low on the inside of the coach so that we could access the "spaces" under our raised bed platforms as well as the basement. I see that the one under the nightstand at least has apparently become standard equipment. I also had them install switches that control the basement light. One was placed beside the inside hatch going into the basement and the other was placed just inside the the outside basement access door. One of the first additions I did was to increase the number of lights in the basement so we could see all the distant corners from both inside and out. 1 Steve, Tali and our dog Rocky plus our beloved Storm, Maggie, Lucy and Reacher (all waiting at the Rainbow Bridge) 2008 Legacy Elite I - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #026 | 2014 Legacy Elite II - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #050 | 2022 Silverado High Country 3500HD SRW Diesel 4x4
Moderators topgun2 Posted March 23, 2018 Moderators Share Posted March 23, 2018 Steve - in some ways it is a shame that (I assume) you are using LED lights. If you had used incandescents you would have enough heat down in the basement to make the entire camper toasty. Either that or you cold simply park it at the end of a runway for flood lighting of the airport. Nice job (as usual) and I still really like that light/water pump switch combo that I've been meaning to get for myself. Perhaps at the Rally - I've got beer! Geronimo John
What do you have mounted above the lower access hatches? They look like a pair of long tubes. Thank you, Geronimo John Those are our extendable flag poles. One is 26 feet long and will handle two flags. The other is 32 feet and is for spinners. I bought both in Quartzsite a couple of years ago. 1 Steve, Tali and our dog Rocky plus our beloved Storm, Maggie, Lucy and Reacher (all waiting at the Rainbow Bridge) 2008 Legacy Elite I - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #026 | 2014 Legacy Elite II - Outlaw Oliver, Hull #050 | 2022 Silverado High Country 3500HD SRW Diesel 4x4
