Moderators mountainborn Posted December 14, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 14, 2008 The new OLIVER OWNERS GROUP is slowly taking form. A letter has been composed by Steve (SCUBARX) and Robert (BUFFALOBOB) will include it in a CHRISTmas mailing from the OLIVER FACTORY. The letter will introduce the new Group and invite all owners participation. Since we are still a fairly small group, we will start off with an online Group listing. That way those planning a trip can print the latest listings if they want to carry it with them. Though I bet most will be like Butcherknife and I, we will refrence the list online most of the time. PAPERLESS RULES !! So, how about suggesting a name for our new group ! For example, I always thought that the HARLEYDAVIDSON'S OWNERS GROUP being named HOG was cool ! But having said that, OOG (oliver owners group) doesn't quite have the same kind of a ring to it ! Your name suggestions for our owner's group are being solicited ! I would rather wake up in the middle of nowhere than in any city on earth 08' Oliver Legacy Elite HULL NUMBER 0003(sold)
Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted December 14, 2008 Moderator+ Share Posted December 14, 2008 What about putting a letter, A, B, C... in front of the Hull Number to indicate the year of mfg. I.E. A=2008, B=2009, and so on.... So everyone's so far would be A00XX. jam49
Another thought - After A-Z are used up the number could start over every 27th year and go A1, then B1, etc. then the next 27th year A2 then B2, etc. What about listing the range of vin numbers from 2008, then the range from 2009 and so on? This way counting wouldn't have to be started over after every 26th year.
jam49
What about 2008001 or 08001, 2009050 or 09050, etc. for whatever vin number is appropriate for the year?
Moderators mountainborn Posted December 15, 2008 Author Moderators Share Posted December 15, 2008 You know, Tom, that ain't half bad ! The locals at Hohenwald usually refer to it as "Hole in the wall". THE HOLE IN THE WALL GANG! It has a certain kind of character about it ! Moderators SeaDawg Posted December 15, 2008 Moderators Share Posted December 15, 2008 I like the "Hole in the Wall Gang", but am more partial to "Hulll's Angels". I can see some great tee-shirt possibilities with either of these names. Yall are much more creative than I am so I am going to leave naming the group up to you. Fun names sure are being suggested!

jam49
After I reread the Oliver Owners Group, I do recall. At the time it didn't register with me just how special my online friends (even our Casita and other fiberglass trailer friends) would become. Thanks for Cherie's, Mountainbor's, Sherry's suggestions and ALL others who have contributed to this topic. Jam49
