Welllll, how particular are you? Doodles are nature's velcro. We are on day 122 of our 160 day +/- meandering trek from FL to AK & back. When we left home our sweet Ollie looked so quaint. Matching bedding, pillows, rugs & I did my best to keep it that way. After a few weeks, I reassessed my priorities & ditched the fluff. The pretty entry rug was replaced with a plastic grass one to catch as much of the outdoors before it made its way back to the beds. (We have the king/dinette version but because the bed/table made the interior feel tight, we left it with family in KS.) We sleep on the benches with memory foam & the dogs get the space at the back & on a dog bed on the floor. That is where they hang all the time, except to drink from their water bowl that's in the shower. Weather permitting, we are outside most of the time, which I think is the norm. We mostly boondock but between locations we stay somewhere with full hookups & do a deep cleaning, laundry, grocery shopping, you know. What I learned the hard way is that trailers do not have enough water pressure to bathe the dogs. Groomers are impossible to schedule. If you know where you'll be far enough in advance, you might be able to schedule one at a Petco or the like. Otherwise, I find a do-it-yourself dog wash. Some places there are car washes with one bay converted to a pet wash. Quite clever! Only restrictions we've encountered is hiking in National Parks or anywhere there are bear problems. But then, I wouldn't take them anywhere dangerous. Despite all of the above reality, traveling with our Doods is a pleasure; they are the reason we have a camper. If you decide you need more space, I wouldn't blame you but there are huge tradeoffs. The obvious is the quality & comradeship you'd lose. Ollie owners are truly special.

Since I still haven’t been able to put all the pieces in place to move forward with purchasing an RV and when I do I plan on it being my LAST major purchase. As it stands Oliver (seen) is #1, Lance Lance (seen) #2, Outdoors #3 and I’m scheduled to see one Labor Day Week, and Northwoods Arctic Fox #4 or Nash #5 both sight unseen. I realize Northwoods owns Outdoors RV. Here it comes: I am curious how well the 2007 or 2008 OLE or OLE II are holding up after 12 / 11 years?

My wife and i love the quality of the Oliver product. Our only concern is whether there's enough livable space for 4 living creatures. Would really appreciate some experienced Olly-owner opinions. The dogs (60 lbs goldendoodles) are non-shedding and calm and sleep anywhere they please.

We just faced that very decision between a 23-foot Globetrotter and an Oliver. We've loved our great little T@B for several years but have long-planned to order a roomier Airstream for retirement travel. But we just couldn't seem to bring ourselves to place the order. We were camping in Tennessee recently when we came across an Oliver on it's maiden voyage, then we made a detour to Hohenwald for the tour. On the way back to the Midwest the next day, we made it a point to swing by a large Airstream dealer to look at comparable Globetrotter and Caravel models while the Oliver experience was fresh. Sure, there were a few features we preferred with AS (mostly layout-related, maybe a few decor options) but the Oliver really stood out for it's fit, finish, and overall quality, especially against the Caravel. While Airstream advertises high MSRP, the prices dealers offered us were virtually the same as Oliver. We got home, gave it a day, and ordered our Oliver. It was a simple decision once we found the right trailer--or rather, the right trailer found us!

I'm sure that "Shallowgal" will respond to this question at some point - all four of them at presently on the road somewhere near Rapid City. They have been in an Elite II for several months now traveling to Alaska and back with their two fairly good sized dogs. As far as I know both the humans and the dogs are doing fine and enjoying the ride. Bill

#12 here, picked up in February, 2008. First photo is from April of this year. 2nd is at pickup at the factory. We had the trailer in to a local shop for service in April. There was a line up to see an 11 year old trailer that still looked brand new. We get that comment all the time at gas stops and campgrounds. Yes, we take care of it, wax it twice a year, and regular maintenance. But we don't "baby" it, and it's stored outside. Thats over 4200 days in the weather. We've towed our camper less than Pete, but more than many. Over 100,000 miles . We have in the last few years replaced the water pump, the refrigerator, and removed the microwave. Also replaced the water heater. Added solar in 2008, as 99 per cent if our camping is without electrical hookups. On the third set of tires and batteries. 2nd set of electric brakes. We're confident the trailer will be enjoyed by the next generation when we're gone, or no longer able to go camping. Sherry
