  1. We’ve been home for about five hours and I already have a request from someone to view the Oliver - she’s really not fit for company after having two adults, one kid, and one good size dog spend the last week in there!
  2. John, Thanks for fixing the photo - it was upright when I posted it, and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it when it showed up upside down! Still figuring out the forum. My daughter likes the trailer, but humorously she told me she likes the tent better “because it feels like real camping.” She didn’t complain when she got to have hot cholocate in bed in her jammies, though! And she definitely likes skipping the campground toilets - we usually camp where there are pit toilets or we are boondocking and using our river rafting toilet, so this is a serious step up in facilities. My hubby and I are going to try out dispersed camping in it in about two weeks to go mountain biking while Annika is at sleepaway camp, then we are going to camp at Lake Granby in mid-July. We don’t have any specific plans beyond that, but will certainly do a fall leaf watching trip in September and probably a family camping trip with grandparents, uncles/aunts. Really looking forward to fall camping in it. I love the Ouray area. We are looking forward to really exploring Colorado in the coming years. Look forward to hearing how your trip goes - I know you’ve spent a lot of time out here before. We’ll have to try to cross paths on one of your trips out here. Alison
  3. We picked up our Oliver on Monday and drove/camped our way back to Colorado, arriving back home today. Thanks to everyone on this forum for so much valuable information - it made packing for the trip much easier. We love our new Oliver! Alison
  4. Thanks so much for the pictures, I think I see ours! We are pale blue and teal, or something like that. We are certainly one that has been sitting for months - we were told we should order in September for a June pickup, but then we got a call I think in December that it was about to go into production and would be ready in February! February is not the time to be picking up a camper and driving to Colorado so we asked to stick with our original production date. I didn’t know until we got our VIN and saw that other people were picking up later numbers that they kept us on a production schedule that completed in February - don’t love that it’s been sitting around outside since then, but c’est la vie. We will be picking up in less than two weeks, right after our daughter gets out of school. I am so excited! Obsessed might be a more accurate description.
  5. John, I haven’t stayed at Ridgway, but if you are interested in seeing them, I’ll scan and post the pages from my Moon Colorado Camping book that describes the three campgrounds. Alison
  6. Thanks for the info, Mark. We won't use ours a lot either - mainly when doing dispersed camping here in Colorado when we are away from the camper for the day. I ordered the Proven Industries lock and the collar lock recommended by users here. I'll hold off dealing with the chain for the wheels until we go on our first boondock trip this summer, but I'm glad to know we should get the smaller one. I like your trailer name! I let my 9 year old name ours and she chose Squidward. Alison
  7. Foy, These are beautiful! I’ve emailed you about getting a board. I really have to stop buying things for a trailer I haven’t even picked up yet!
  8. Also love all the pictures! Makes me that much more excited (though not sure I can be any more excited!) to pick up our Oliver in just over three weeks!
  9. MontanaOliver, When you have a chance, I’d love to know if the 2178-B Proven Industries Lock fit and if you are happy with it. Also, did your chain work through the tire? We pick up in less than a month and I’m deciding on a hitch lock. Many Thanks, Alison
  10. I would have loved to see a picture of it! I’m guessing it’s one of the finished units given my hull number. Not much longer to wait.
  11. Rumline, I’ve had my unit number since early February. But here’s why I think I got it so early- I got a call from Anita in early December that our Oliver was going to be ready ahead of schedule - they were ready to put it into production and she said it would be done by early February. I told her we didn’t want it in February - as you know, we are here in Colorado and February is not a good time of year to drive a camper trailer from TN to CO! When I told her we would prefer to stick with out earlier schedule and pick up in June, she said they would move the date back to its original production date, but I suspect it was actually finished in February and has been ready since then. This would explain why I’ve had my number for so long, and why it is so much earlier than units being finished right now.
  12. It’s so weird, our unit is #310 and we don’t pick up until June. I’m guessing that means it’s already built and is stored somewhere at the Oliver shops. Can’t wait to pick her up in just four weeks!
  13. Between your fancy new sink and your counter extension, I am having a case of serious kitchen envy! Thanks for sharing.
  14. topgun2, I looked at the Amazon link and while I think you are right that that is the type of tire ramp they are talking about, it appears those tire ramps don't work with leaf spring axles.
  15. Love your interior, and it’s nice to see what the new t.v. location looks like. I’m very confused about the hull number - we pick up in June, and Anita told me just last week that our hull number is 310! I wonder if I misunderstood her.
  16. I wonder if that first Oliver in the picture belongs for a Coloradoan? Bronco colors.... We pick up in June and I look forward to connecting with other Colorado owners. I’ll be placing our final order details in the next few weeks. After reading all the posts, I’m upgrading to the Truma!
  17. Or you could use a dry erase wall sticker! I imagine they would stick really well to the Oliver’s smooth walls. They sell them on Amazon for $10. I think they would remove easily, but you’d want to know that before affixing to the Oliver.
  18. If I tell my 9-year old daughter that she can use dry erase markers on the walls, I will be living in a rainbow of hearts, smiley faces, princesses, and animals! I have to admit it’s tempting... We’ll see what I decide by the time we pick our new Ollie up in June! Let me know if you try it out ShallowGal!
  19. John, I would definitely not take it on snowy roads - winter camping would be carefully planned for dry periods with known conditions and easy to access locations. In Colorado, 4-season means 3- season most years. This year, you could definitely have camped in Steamboat for New Years though - we had dry roads the entire way there! But I’ve definitely thought about sneaking down to Mesa Verde or the Great Sand Dunes during a mild winter. I had not thought, though, about warranty and insurance issues, or about corrosion problems. Thanks for the advice.
  20. Geokeg, I have a Colorado campgrounds book that lists campgrounds that are open in winter- it’s the Moon Colorado Camping book by Joshua Berman. You can find some pretty good lists online just by googling it.
  21. “Congratulations! This is a great time to order since you won’t be constantly staring out the window wishing you were camping.” John Davies, I wish I could say this was true- we pick our Oliver up in June. But everywhere I go, I check out whether there is winter camping! We spent New Years in Steamboat Springs (Colorado), and all I could think about was that next year I can take my Ollie and camp out at Steamboat Lake Campground. I’ve made a list of all the campgrounds in Colorado that are open year-round! My husband thinks I’m crazy.
  22. One thing I’m not clear on - if you opt for the storage compartment, is there a 11o outlet in it?
  23. Reed, Did you guys get the hatch on your king model? We have ordered the king model and I’m wondering if we should get the hatch (obviously harder to use with the king layout!) - Alison
  24. The new Oliver owners that post You Tube videos under G&J Roaming & Rolling did a great video of the inside of their new Ollie and they got the Laguna table. You can see on their video that it swivels around in a broad arc. The video gives a good sense of the table’s size, motion, etc.
