  1. Another historic and successful launch tonight! It was too cloudy for me to see anything from the back yard, but I watched it online at nasa channel. So proud of everyone involved, and especially the brave crew of 4.
  2. Most tvs and monitors use the standard Vesa mount, multiplrs of 100 x 100 mm. You may need to order an articulating mount ahead if time. I don't know what the selection will be like in Hohenwald . Walmart is about it for shopping in town. Something like this, maybe? https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Premium-Mount-Monitor-Stand/dp/B010QZCT5W Make sure you can return anything you order, as you're unsure of what will work til you get there.
  3. BlueHighways, Love the name you chose! So many of us love to travel the smaller roads. Sounds like you have made it your mission. By now, you should have your new Oliver. Looking forward to photos .
  4. I ordered a janome today, with a walking foot. Adding to the collection . I also okayed a new saw for Paul. Adding to his collection. Lol
  5. I've thought about this, too. I'd love to have a larger work area, as the small dinette table is "multipurpose " in our trailer. It's the office. It's my prep area for cooking. And of course, it's occasionally even a dining table... Drop leaves couldn't be very large, without messing with leg room. Foldunder leaves, like restaurants use taking a square table to a round, would have to be smaller because of the post. I'm thinking a full size foldover top, like some marine tables, could double the workspace for the kitchen. (Like a sewing machine cabinet, where the lid folds out and becomes workspace.) Folding out over the aft dinette seat would double my workspace during the day. Clean it off, fold it back, and back to dining or laptop office. The lip on my table is about 1 3/4 inches, so a base tabletop of 1"thick wood, possibly x-braced inset to avoid warping, plus a 3/4 inch foldout top panel could work. Extender supports could slide out for strength. And, still allow you to have a sofa. With hidden hinges (maybe Hafele?) And slideout support for the 3/4" thick top. Morticing in the hinges, and x brace, would be the toughest part.
  6. Good call on rhe shower wall, John. I've only hung command hooks on mine,, with 2 or three coats.. probably not more than 10 pounds. Maybe mounting to the upper cabinet, above the front small dinette chair? With a backing plate? And a way to lock it in and prevent motion underway. I'm sure Jason will have better ideas when SherMica gets to speak with him. Hanging it in the place of the TV mount presents other problems, with space for the dog. I know my dog claims the entire bed as her own during the day, even though she has her own spot on the little dinette seat for nights.
  7. I don't know if there was a Halloween orange edition, but the snowflake/holiday cling wrap should be enough to alert anyone that the toilet is "winterized. "
  8. We have a compressor type, whole house dehumidifier in our home in Florida. I've not used a dehumidifier in the Oliver, yet. I was curious, too, about the difference between compressor vs dessicant dehumidifiers. Thus article was pretty informative. Dessicant type is more quiet (I'd like that, in the trailer), and more efficient in cool weather, below 15c/ 59 f, or so it says. https://www-andatechdistribution-com-au.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.andatechdistribution.com.au/a/s/blogs/news/desiccant-or-compressor-dehumidifier?amp_js_v=a6&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQFKAGwASA%3D#aoh=16054442036917&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From %1%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.andatechdistribution.com.au%2Fblogs%2Fnews%2Fdesiccant-or-compressor-dehumidifier
  9. Those photos should really be helpful to SherMica. Thanks, Hokieman. Shermica, I did some rough measurements in my trailer this morning. Two places that could potentially accommodate your big monitor are the ones I mentioned before. With caveats. If it were mounted on the shower wall, in use you would not be able to access the bathroom door, or open it. The monitor would have to be maneuvered back into the corner to do so. In the corner of the bed, you'd need a long arm to make it useable from the small dinette. In either spit, it will cover more than half of an adjoining window. Where will your dog be sleeping? On the floor? In the big bed? On the small dinette? Steve/Scubarx drops down the little dinette for his large dog every night. As I recall, Technomadia used to dropdown and makeup the big bed every night, so that they had workspace during the day for two people. Not only is that a pain, but you'd lose a lot of underbed storage with that plan.
  10. Good luck. Fingers crossed for you.🤞🤞🤞
  11. Technomadia's 2008 monitor and articulating mount.
  12. My guess is it's a height issue, restricting access to the emergency exit /rear window. The elite I has a few inches less interior height than a II. Pretty sure technomadia mounted a quite large monitor in the rear corner, back in the day. I'll poke around and see if I can find a photo.
  13. I wouldn't want to give it up, either, if I could find a way to make it work. We like our samsung curve tv. The slight curve should actually help, in a corner install. It will cover part of each of the adjoining windows.
  14. Looks like the standard TV mount (24 inch tv) is in the corner. But, I'd still ask my rep. I don't know how old that photo is
  15. And then, these glow in the dark... I think I'd tire of seeing them in the rear view mirror, though
  16. I'm of course assuming the TV Vesa mount and backing for the elite 1 is still in the corner, not over the back exit window.
  17. That's exactly what I was thinking about. A long arm mount that could stretch over the 54" bed in the daytime, push back into the sw curved corner at night. Replace the tv. Work from the small dinette. A monitor that big can't be right on your nose, anyway.
  18. Thinking about it, you "could" possibly pick one side of the dinette for the monitor. Shower side. You'd sit facing the front of the trailer. It would take up a lot of space, and pretty much eliminate anyone sitting in that seat . Dimensions?
  19. No, it doesn't sound insane to me. Both my husband and my daughter would be lost without dual, though smaller, monitors. Our daughter started a trend at her new company, when one of her conditions of hire was dual big monitors, three years ago. Now, all her department has them. Me, I'm retired. I can work from a largish phone.
  20. The small dinette is a little less than 24 x 24. If you put it there, you'll block a lot of the window. And, in not sure where you could mount it I'd look at a wall mount in the corner, over the bed, especially with a curve screen. With a three way adustable mount, so you can bring it closer. This is a topic you should discuss with your rep. How heavy is 5he monitor,? Can you also use it to stream tv?
  21. And, @Susan Huff, so many of our tech/mechanical problems over the years have really been user issues. I'm not embarrassed to say so. Every new system is a learning curve. My learning highway probably looks like the dragon's tail ride, lol. Today, Paul and I installed a Phyn water leak sensor system for the house. His plumbing was flawless. The tech side was much more complicated. Sometimes, there are little details missing in the manual, or app instructions. I went through the app a dozen times, including faq several times, and then spent an hour on the phone with two great techs in California. Everything is working now. If I had turned on location on my android phone, and paired to the 2. 4 net, instead of the 5 band, it would have saved 45 minutes ... (that bit of info is not in the instructions, anywhere.)⁹ Tech is great. When it works , and we understand it. And, have clear instructions. Even then, I can manage to mess something up, sometimes.
  22. On the boat, we leave the inverter turned off unless we're actually using it. But, our inverter on the boat is a xantrex, not victron, sadly. I have read about the Victron shutting down when the batteries are full, and not restarting. But, we have not really watched for it in the boat. I thought that was an older, resolved problem? Nor, do we usually use much power on the sailboat. Something to watch for when/if we install the danfoss backup system to the engine driven cold plate refrigeration. Our delight is that we have not had to plug in the boat to shore power, in a year . And, when the alternator failed again in March, in a tricky situation, the batteries were still fully charged, with solar. 😁 The bluesky algorithms have never let me down to the point you experienced in your recent trip. But, if the weather is cloudy/low sun for string of days, they're def inaccurate, and we also watch the seelevel monitor, and sometimes take readings straight from our 2 group 27 batteries, with a meter. Unlike you, we don't have a lot of leeway, with just two 105 ah agm batteries. And, all the readings are somewhat inaccurate with agm , unsettled batteries, anyway. It can be really frustrating. Looks like yours reset too, with a full charge, as ours do with the bluesky.
  23. I truly didn't realize just how much impact tropical storms had, so far inland, until we started spending so much time in North Carolina. We are deeply saddened by the campground tragedy.
  24. I've been watching for another sale on the Viking jump pack. It's $69, ($15 off )through 12/3/20. Back in stock in my store next week. Hf is taking pre-orders.
  25. Lots, obviously! Thanks! I've never seen thus story before. Quite, er, fascinating..
