  1. On the road. Heading home after a great week camping in the north woods.
  2. From reading the original post, I believe the intent of the curtain and rod is to provide privacy in the bathroom with the small window in the open position. This is especially important if you're showering and the bathroom window is open. My solution was to take a microfiber cloth that's slightly larger than a washcloth and place it diagonally over the window and tuck a small corner into the space where the two parts of the window come together. The result is privacy, air flow and something handy to wipe down the walls after a shower. Marsha
  3. I think the Oliver is so well built, critter intrusion will be a non-issue. We store our Oliver on our property under a CalMark cover and have not had any problems.
  4. The US Postal Service will hold your mail for a maximum of 30 days. We have a friend check our mail and bring it into the house, sorting magazines and flyers from other mail.
  5. You may want to consider joining this Facebook group: Oliver & Molded Fiberglass trailers
  6. Congratulatons Lukens'! You're going to love the Oliver and be blown away by the quality. We also have the king bed and one option was a mattress for the bed, which is actually a split king. One suggestion I might make (as the person who makes the bed) would be to use twin bed mattress pads and fitted sheets, then use a king flat sheet and blankets/quilts. I did trial and error with king sheets and it's easier all the way around with the twin size sheets. Other options we have and are glad we got are the inverter, cell booster, four T105 batteries. We also got the Winegard antenna, but generally don't camp in areas where we can pick up reception since we're more national park/national forest campers. One thing we didn't get and wish we did is the solar option. We have a folding solar panel that we had with the Casita and while it works well, it would be so much more convenient to have the solar integrated with the entire unit. We also went with the Fibergranite, which is a nice option, but not necessary. We're all looking forward to your delivery day, and welcome to the Oliver family. Marsha
  7. Thanks, Bill. Thought it might be something like that. Horace - I'll have to get back to you on what model AC we have.
  8. Since we normally camp in national forest campgrounds without electricity, we haven't had much of a chance to try out the heat strip on the air conditioner. While we were in Alaska, the Yukon and northern BC we had both electric and cold overnight weather on occasion. We don't normally have the heat on at night, but in the morning, when turning on the heat strip we noticed the furnace would go on and heat would come out both the vents and the AC unit. Is this normal, or is this another wiring issue we're experiencing?
  9. We're in Alaska and are finding it difficult to avoid rock chips using the Rock Tamers. We had mud flaps/splash guards installed on the truck along with the Rock Tamers hoping for additional insurance, but chipping happened and we'll deal with it once we get home. But, we're having the time of our lives.
  10. Check under the overhead cabinet in the bathroom on the street side.
  11. While I'm not Buzzy, I do have a program on my phone "List Master" that allows me to check off each task as it's completed. Our list is comprised of the following, with a few other items that are specific to our set up and break down of camp that I've not included. It's in alphabetical order because that's the way the app lists them, so they're not necessarily in order of completion. Campground Arrival/Departure Checklist Inside Blinds – close/open Booster – off/on Fridge – door closed securely Furnace – off Garbage – stowed or disposed Grey tank valve – closed/open Inverter - off Pump – off/on Television – secured Vents – closed Water heater – off Windows - closed Outside Breakaway cable connected Campsite check for anything left behind Chocks – removed/put away Door latch secured Electric cord stored Jack support blocks stowed Light Check Mat – doormat put away Propane – off/on Safety chains – secured Safety pin – secured Stabilizers – up Steps – up Surge protector – stowed/put away WDH – attached and socket stored I also do a final walk around the truck/trailer just to be sure everything looks good prior to heading out. ~Marsha
  12. We installed the Eze RV Gutters above all the windows in our Casita and they were still firmly in place when we sold it, despite a lot of highway miles. I think once they're on it would be difficult to get them off.
  13. Tommy from OTT contacted us and walked us (Ed) through taking the face plate off and it turns out the wires were reversed. We have sound from the TV coming from all four speakers! ~Marsha
  14. Noticed it right away when I logged in this morning. Vast improvement and much easier to navigate. Thanks.
  15. We had an additional outlet installed in the bed area on the underside of one of the overhead cabinets. Otherwise, there aren't any power outlets under the bed that I'm aware of, at least in the standard/king configuration.
  16. Not what I wanted to hear. We've already been back there for issues three times since we picked up on June 8, 2015. Hopefully Matt will be able to get back to us with a solution.
  17. We opted for a custom split king mattress that was purchased through Oliver, so it's a fulltime bed and we just use the side dinette.
  18. We went with the standard/king configuration. We use the rear of the trailer as the "head" of the bed, so although one doesn't have to crawl over the other, we do have to crawl into the bed.
  19. So happy to see this. We were wondering how or if this could be accomplished. And upon checking this out - it did not work. Help!
  20. We also use the onboard jacks, supported by the lego type leveling blocks for the back, and 4X4s for the front jack. We just left Davidson River NFCG near Brevard, NC and loved it. We arrived on Thursday and left Sunday. It did get a bit noisy there during the weekend. Seemed like our loop (White Oak) had the most kids. But a great CG and we would definitely return if ever in the area again.
  21. Welcome from SW Michigan. An Oliver was our retirement gift to ourselves and it truly is a quality trailer. We have no regrets in our purchase. If you haven't yet seen one in person you're welcome to take a look at ours. I hope you're able to connect with the owner who is selling theirs. Best of luck.
  22. Welcome to the Forums and the wonderful world of owning an Oliver. Be prepared to give lots of tours.
  23. Ed, Were you able to buy the dridek local or did you have to order it online? Stan We did order online and have it delivered to our local West Marine. ~Marsha
  24. We purchased four pieces of DriDek to place on the shower floor, cutting around the drain and the curve. I then purchased a regular bath rug which, when folded in half just sits on top of the DriDek. Keeps the dirt out of the shower pan, the rug can be shaken out and thrown in the wash when it gets dirty and also keeps our feet warm. The rug just gets taken out and placed on the floor outside the bathroom door when showering.
