That's a great picture! It was good meeting you on your pick up day and we're glad it's going well. We're not home yet from our rally trip - probably another week or so. Mike

Bill, I've got room in the truck for my clubs. Camping and golfing - what a great combination! We've camped in two locations this trip with nice water falls. Helen, GA and Anna Ruby Falls, and here at Big South Fork NRRA and Yahoo Falls. We hiked to Yahoo Falls yesterday, it's 113 feet and you can walk behind it. No golf course though! Mike

Window Screws coming loose
Mike and Carol replied to ScottyGS's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
The issue may be getting the piece of the screw that didn't come out. Mine broke right at the head of the screw. I'll ask if he can send me a few. I don't like being a loose screw. Mike -
Bill, great photos! This park is on our list for our next visit to Tennessee. Mike

Our heater is a Vornado and has three heat settings, the highest is 1150 watts. You should only need one. We keep ours on the lowest setting 90% of the time and only go to the middle setting (750W) when it's real cold. They are very quiet. Mike

In the bed of the truck I carry two larger "zero gravity" chairs and two small camp chairs, a camp table, Weber charcoal grill, Weber propane grill, charcoal, chocks and blocks and on long trips or boondock trips a generator and 20lb propane tank (we have all that on this current trip). The closet is for hang up clothes, shoes, hamper, and miscellaneous things (first aid kit, small hand vac, tool kit, etc). The back overhead (attic) is for some of my clothes and then containers with DVD's, spare parts (fuses, hose gaskets, on command tape, etc). The back two side overheads are for clothes. The two over the kitchen for kitchen things. The two over the dinette for some bathroom items, a toaster and a small coffee maker (Nespresso Pixie). In the basement I carry water hoses and accessories (Y spitter, pressure regulator, nozzle) power cables, 50a adapter, 20a adapter, surge protector, toilet additives in a bucket (detergent, water softener). Window Screws coming loose
Mike and Carol replied to ScottyGS's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
I had a couple of these. It looks like the manufacturer over tightened them. Let us know what Jason says. Mike -
When we're camping in cold weather a small cube heater is enough to keep things toasty inside. We just left Banner Elk, NC where morning temperatures were mid 30's and our small heater kept us toasty on low. The few times I've run the furnace is when temps were in the 20's, just to keep the area between the shells warmer. I always have one or both of the ceiling vents open. No condensation issues. I keep it buttoned up when we're not traveling because of insects (mud daubers). If it looks like sustained temps below freezing I will turn the cube heater on low and open cabinet doors and drawers. No condensation issues. Mike

State Registration & Taxes Other Costs
Mike and Carol replied to Bruce W's topic in General Discussion
We also live in Texas. After picking up in Tennessee we got home before our 30 Day Tennessee temporary tag ran out and registered in Texas, including sales tax. No property tax. You do need a state safety inspection, which didn't amount to much - just checking the lights. Mike -
Dan, welcome, glad you're here! I wonder what great features will be on the 2022 Oliver! Mike

Surburban Furnace NOISE COMPLAINT!
Mike and Carol replied to ScottyGS's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Ours is pretty quiet and doesn't make anywhere near that much noise. I'd call Jason. Mike -
You Meet Interesting People While Camping
Mike and Carol replied to Mike and Carol's topic in Submit Your Story
Helen was nice. We had the town to ourselves. Unicoi State Park there was also very nice. We also enjoyed Anna Ruby Falls. Here in Banner Elk it's interesting to be parked "in town", very convenient. The Mast General Store was fun and we enjoyed Grandfather Mountain. There is a lot to do around here, warrants a trip back! Mike -
We were on the phone with Mother's Day calls and couldn't log on. We can try again soon! Mike

We left the Oliver Rally and headed for Helen, GA. We had a nice site at Unicoi State Park just 2 miles from Helen - a very nice park. While there we had a very friendly camping neighbor. He asked where were headed next and I told him we were going to a COE campground near Boomer, NC just north of Wilkesboro, NC. His reaction was the same that we got from Topgun when we told him. Not the best area and not much to do there. Our Helen neighbor lives in Banner Elk, NC. He offered us a parking spot next to his business on the edge of town. 50a Electric and water, he sometimes parks his RV here. After a night in our COE campground, we drove up to Banner Elk and are now camped next to his business. What a great site! Banner Elk motto: "Ski Capital of the South". You do meet interesting folks while camping! Mike

This is exactly how we shower. No issues. Mike

Brandi, welcome! Can't help with your question, but I'm sure someone who can will chime in. Mike

John, thanks for the picture. Let us know if you find the bigger sink! Mike

While we were at the Quartzsite Rally in February, one of the fiberglass bloggers (Bex) asked if she could film our trailer and the Landrums trailer. She recently posted two videos. The first features the Landrums Oliver and the second has ours. I've subscribed to her channel for some time, she full times in a tiny Casita and does a lot of videos on her travels to various parks and camping spots. Mike

Our inverter doesn't make any noise. We don't have the satellite dish so I'm not sure what that sounds like. Mike
-
We enjoyed the rally too. It was a good mix of social, technical and learning. Great support from the Olivers and their great employees. Thanks to Coy for all his coordination work. Mike
-
Us too!

Steve, even though you haven't been here in person you've been here in conversation! We hope your SUT goes well. This has been a good rally. We've enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and meeting new friends and learning from their experiences. Coy and the Oliver team have done a great job with structuring the program. Mike

Happier Camper with LEGO modular interior furnishings
Mike and Carol replied to John E Davies's topic in General Discussion
I checked these out when they first came out. Cute and innovative. Not for me, but I hope they are successful. Mike -
We left home a week ago for the Oliver Rally. We are finally at a campground that has some cell coverage! We stayed at Bear Creek COE west of Fort Worth for a few days to visit family in Dallas. We left Sunday for Caddo Lake State Park on the TX/LA border. We drove through Canton, TX on the way just a day after the tornado hit. On I-20 going by Canton we saw the tornado damage up close. A car dealership was totally destroyed, the building gone and cars/trucks thrown all over the place. There was an engine and other parts in the freeway median. Just past the dealership was an amusement park with a ride called The Twister which was not damaged, ironic. We're now in Trace State Park not far from Tupelo, MS. We have a nice lakeside site - the only problem is that they drained the lake. At least we have cell coverage so we can catch up on things. Friday morning we will continue up the Natchez Trace to the rally site. Looking forward to meeting/seeing a lot of Oliver friends! Mike
