  1. This is what we use, with an Asus lock. A determined thief will win, this is just deterrence. Mike
  2. Sounds like the cable disconnected from the gate. You can check under the dinette seat closest to the bathroom. You might be able to push the handle back in and reconnect it under the seat.
  3. Good looking combination! Welcome to the group!! Mike
  4. Problem solved. Looks like the one thing I didn't check was the issue - the filter trap on the side of the pump was slightly loose, I tightened it and now we have smooth flow (thanks Steve for suggesting that). I don't have the fresh tank retrofit but will get it the next time we're near the factory. I will also get the accumulator to smooth out the vibrations! Thanks for the suggestions. Mike
  5. Last week we were camped at Black Canyon NP. No hook ups. When using the water pump I couldn't clear the air out of the system which resulted in very uneven water flow. Fresh tank was nearly full. I checked all the connections around the pump and all were tight. Here at Mesa Verde we have city water and all is fine. Suggestions? BTW, the drive down 550 from Montrose through Ouray and Silverton to Durango was quite exhilarating! Mike
  6. That is excellent news! Picking up is an exciting time!! Mike

  8. A gaggle of Olivers sounds too disorganized. A formation of Olivers sounds too organized. A band or pack of Olivers? Maybe we should just say a bunch of Olivers? A collection of Olivers sounds nice. Who has captured multiple Olivers in a picture? Post 'em if you've got 'em! Here's a favorite, the Outlaw Oliver and the Lone Star Oliver under a rainbow at Organ Pipe Cactus NM in southern AZ.
  9. Buzzy, we have missed you and I've often wondered how you were doing. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of little Buzzy and your spouse. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Mike
  10. Harvey evacuees were offered free camping at all Texas State Parks and many commercial parks. I hope Irma evacuees are offered the same. Mike
  11. Carole, if you can post pictures of your hitch I'm sure someone would be able to offer advice and suggestions. Mike
  12. I hereby nominate Steve as the official Oliver Travel Trailer Historian!
  13. Colorado Springs this week. Weather is good except for haze from the fires further west.
  14. We got pictures during our build but they were not as busy as they are now. I think Anita snapped pics while giving tours and then emailed them out. Hopefully it will become part of the build process. It's fun to see the work being done! Mike
  15. Great job on the graphics! The big one on the front does give instant recognition! Mike
  16. Like Bill, we use the Andersen and like it. Not much detail to go on here, but it sounds like an adjustment or set up issue. I'd send a PM to Sage, he was quick to respond to me when I had questions. Mike
  17. We didn't have the instant option when we ordered. The tank has been just fine. If we're hooked up to electricity, which is the majority of the time, we have plenty of hot water. If not, the tank heats up pretty fast on propane and stays hot for quite a while. I'm not sure what the price difference is but if it's a lot more for the instant and I was ordering for us, I'd get the tank. Mike
  18. I still have mine and have thought about removing it. I'm not sure it does much good. It does collect debris and is hard to clean. Will be interested in what others have experienced. Mike
  19. Darrell and Kathy, welcome to the family! We've found that our Oliver has just the right amount of space for long trips with very few maintenance issues. You'll find support from the Oliver folks is top notch. Mike
  20. There's not much around NYC. Just north of the city is a state park, Beaver Park Campground. It's just off the Pallisades Parkway (Hwy 9W) near Big Bear Mountain. Probably 30 or 40 minute drive down the parkway to Tappan Zee bridge across the Hudson into the city. There's also a park on the other side of the Hudson at Croton Park. The area just north of NYC is scenic in the fall. We were there last October. Mike
  21. As far as I know the Andersen is the only WDH that fits the Oliver.
  22. We dodged most of it too. We have our son and family here since their neighborhood is under water. We also have their good friends here who also managed to get out at the last minute. 4 adults, 3 little kids and 3 big dogs. It's a party! They've got some great stories about neighbors helping neighbors. It's hard to imagine what is happening just 3 hours away. Mike
  23. When my trailer was new and I was using the P3 I could not get my brakes to lock. I just set the controller fairly high to where the trailer brakes would slow the truck down when applied by themselves. I used the P3 and Tacoma for about 5K miles. It seems like once I got the Ram and the brakes were more broken in, there was more grab. Now with about 20K miles locking the brakes is no problem. I have my Ram integrated brake controller set on 6. mike
