To close this out… I cleaned out all the old caulk and wiped it down with mineral spirits. I used 3M Marine 4000 and layed a bead all around the Oliver light. The next morning I simulated a good rain storm on the back of the trailer. No leaks. Hopefully this will last. When I was cleaning out the old caulk I was surprised that there wasn’t much to clean. John, sounds like you were surrounded by THE experts! It wasn’t difficult, just took it slow and pushed it in with steady pressure. Good luck! Hope the Maine rally went well, I think we’ll try to make it back up to Maine for a future rally, beautiful state. Mike

John, yes that’s it. I loosen the set screw and then pull the cable all the way out with the handle. I used WD40 to clean it and then added a light coat of grease, don’t remember exactly what grease, probably white lithium that I had on hand. I’ve done this twice since 2016 and it keeps things working smoothly. It’s probably time to do it again before we head to Colorado/Utah next month. The first time I did it Steve Landrum talked me through it after I was complaining that the cable was hard to pull. The gray tank cable is shorter, but the technique is the same! Mike

The black tank valve gate is under the dinette seat closest to the bath. I’ve replaced mine. You should be able to lift the gate from the top to open it. Check to ensure the cable is still firmly attached. I can’t imagine a blockage big enough to stop all flow. It’s also a good idea to remove the cable from the trailer to clean and lube it. It’s held in place by one set screw on top of the valve. Just loosen and pull it out at the basement location. After you get it clean and lubed just insert it back in and push it up to the valve under the dinette. Mike

Also, check to make sure the drain pipe from the bathroom sink and shower is firmly seated into the top of the gray tank. Ours was not glued, just wedged in and it popped out once after a bumpy ride. Mike

Yeah, but you can get one with a wood burning stove!

We use ours all the time for our fire pit, Blackstone griddle and Weber Q1000 (regulator removed). No mods necessary for the Blackstone or fire pit.

There are lots of YouTube videos on how to remove the regulator on the Weber Q series regulator so that it works on the quick connects. I bet there are also videos on how to do the same with the Coleman.

In my experience I think every two years would work. I try to do it every year, but I have missed that goal a couple of times with no adverse results. If you saw something you didn’t like you could always increase your frequency. To do all the windows doesn’t take a lot of time. Mike

I do the same. Mine are also about an inch short, I put the gap at the top too. 303 has kept them functional. Mike

We escaped the storm leaving the day you arrived! Had lots of rain and small hail in East Tennessee but nothing like what you went through. Mike

Mother Neff State Park is a nice little Texas State Park just south of Waco. The land was donated to the state of Texas by the mother of Governor Pat Neff 100 years or so ago. It was the first state park in Texas. We stop here often.

Dyson makes good stuff. We have two at home and have had a Dyson handheld in the trailer closet for years. Mike

We have a hose that connects to the Blackstone and the other end is a quick connect that goes in to the trailer. No regulator. I’m sure I found it on Amazon. Mike

I want to avoid silicone if possible.
