  1. We use a pretty big trash can from Simple Human, but it stays tucked under the dinette. And since we don’t use the dinette for eating, it’s never been in the way. If I were to ever do anything with the dinette area to convert it to counter space and storage, I’d try to add a dedicated spot for a trash can there.
  2. People have definitely used those mini splits on RVs, and they’re especially popular on expedition builds. They’re much more efficient than either rooftop or window units, in addition to being quieter. If there were a good place in the Ollie for either part of the unit, I’d definitely be in line to get one. Here’s a thread I started back when I was trying to find an alternative - it would be worth taking another look out there to see what more is available in our market now.
  3. The trick with VHB tape is in the prep, so maybe your new band will last even longer. I do wonder about the longevity of VHB though, especially with people using it for exterior items like solar panels. I had an old Saab 900 though that had trim items glued on with either VHB or something similar, and I kept that car for 20 years, never covered, and I don’t remember any of the trim coming loose.
  4. Check the light on your CO monitor.
  5. That breaker will disconnect most of the electrical but not all.
  6. Some Ollies are wired differently than others, but on mine the bath light switch is on the underside of the overhead cabinet, above the toilet.
  7. I think if you have the 2000w inverter then you can go smaller. There were some comments on this a little while ago but I can’t find the thread. I think maybe it was about John Davies’ install. I’m not sure what you mean about solar statistics. The victron monitor is just a more accurate and more intuitive way of checking your charge, as opposed to going by the voltage level.
  8. Thanks for posting. Sorry about your troubles - hopefully your batteries will be OK.
  9. That's a nice looking string of lights. We also have an exterior 12v socket and it's been super handy. I'm surprised that Oliver doesn't add one as a default, or at least as an option. Ours is located just above the 120v outlet. It's not as nice for lighting, since the cord hangs down, but it's very handy for other things like charging phones. Please tell your wife that my disco lights are very tasteful.
  10. I think you’ll find that with an Ollie, sway really isn’t the issue so much as just getting the weight back on the front wheels for better steering traction.
  11. That’s a great trailer that I’m sure has been taken well care of. Congratulations on the purchase. Like John said, your trailer looks good but the cruiser does look a little low in the back. It looks like you have an adjustable hitch so maybe try tightening up the Andersen a bit more and then if that brings the trailer tongue up too much then go a notch or two lower to compensate.
  12. I don’t think they did but then they also bought a pickup shortly after so maybe send them a PM to ask how well their Merc towed and why they switched. I do know that the issue with a lot of unibody vehicles is that they specifically say not to use WD hitches with them, so that can potentially be a problem. Mercs aside, I believe there are several Ollie owners who tow with the larger Audis without a WD hitch, and who seem to have uniformly good reviews about their towing performance with the OE2.
  13. I think that's the key, and unfortunately it's a difficult dimension to find for a lot of kits. In my case, I have the added complication of the jockey wheel. I have an idea that I could come up with something that would allow me to run the spring arms of any WD hitch just straight back, somehow attaching them to the tongue itself rather than the diagonals. You'd lose much of the sway control that way, but I'm more interested in strict weight transfer personally. Don't ask me how that attachment would work, but I'm certain that something could be designed.
  14. Yeah, there's definitely some hype with all of these reveals. But in general, I think there's enough new stuff in the truck & offroad world right now for everyone to get excited about something - Bronco, Defender, new F150, Cybertruck, Rivian, etc. Even if you aren't in the market for something new, they're still fun to talk about.
  15. I'll be interested to see the backsplash. This is where I got the stainless sheet for the inside of my pantry door, and I thought the price was reasonable for a custom cut piece - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FTVVN81/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  16. I don't disagree, but I think Ford could easily soften the retro look with a refresh down the road. The overall form of the Bronco is remarkably Landroverish, and it's really only a few details like the grill, headlights and a few body creases that make the Bronco look retro. Actually, I thought the crease down the side was reminiscent of 60 series Land Cruisers.
  17. The biggest point of departure between the two is obviously the independent front suspension. For someone like me, I'd never need the extra front suspension travel of the Jeep, and would prefer the highway stability and comfort of the independent suspension. But I can see how that would be a sticking point for others. The Bronco doesn't look to be a slouch in the flex department though. But factory 35's, better clearances all around, stronger engines, better transmission choices (crazy crawl ratio on the manual), nicer interior and electronics - these are real advantages that I think will drive sales, even with the 'true' hard core offroad market. Even little things like having a USB port in the dash are nice, useful touches. They've really thought this through. I'm curious to see the 200+ accessories they say they have lined up. One thing I'm hoping for is an intercooler relocation kit that would also work with the F150. We looked at a Jeep, maybe five years back, and my wife nixed the idea since she thought it felt claustrophobic. So if the Bronco has a bigger feeling interior, then that would be a big win for us.
  18. To my knowledge, no one has ever really tried to make a traditional WDH work. I asked Raspy if he could get me a WD kit for my McHitch since he's the rep now, and told him I'd try to make it work, but he never replied so I guess he wasn't interested.
  19. Have to say, it looks pretty cool -
  20. The spy pics I’ve seen look pretty nice. I hope they come up with some innovative differences to the Wrangler - it will be nice for both Jeep and Ford fans to have competition in that market. There’s rumors of a raptor version of the Bronco, too, which would be cool.
  21. Nice job tracking down the problem. I would think that a few strategically placed felt pads on the AC diffuser would solve the popping.
  22. I'm in the southeast, and it's pretty humid here. But I'm thinking that it must be exasperated by a hidden leak somewhere. I had a problem with the bath window last year and it had to be replaced, plus I discovered some water trapped inside a few of the window frames when I cleaned the caulk a bit ago. And maybe too I've had the standard clogged window drain leak at some point, though I haven't seen evidence of it. Your guess is really as good as mine. I suppose it could have just been a bad batch of slides. I'm pretty sure they're galvanized.
