We purchased a new Ollie tow vehicle today, 2016 SR5 Tundra. Really like this truck and can't wait to start towing our Oliver Elite II around the lower 48 with this Truck. This Tundra has bucket seats, rear camera, center console, 38 gallon fuel tank, spray -in bed liner, and all weather mats. Will post about towing the Ollie with the Tundra in the towing section. Here's a few photos on the way home from the dealership today:

Here's our Elite II, the LP copper plumbing is different compared to the Elite. Checked between the copper lines and black sleeve around wires contacting copper lines and did not find any issues. Water heater: Furnace:

Dave, Will check mine and post a photo. Thanks!

Buzzy, Would like to see his rig. Also have a 1st generation Tacoma we currently tow the bike on a 4X8 motorcycle trailer. Need a very large campsite with Ollie, TV and Tacoma/motorcycle rig when camping locally. Thanks, Robert, Will check out your rig. Thanks! Understand the anti venom only works once with a Black Widow. True story, I was bitten by a Bat riding a Dual Sport motorcycle to Batcave, NC early one morning. Had to get all of the rabies shots. :) Don't have to worry about this kind of stuff happening cooking bacon. :) Edit: Just checked out Robert's rig, very nice. Bet you have to look in the mirror to be sure the Ollie is still there while towing with that nice TV! :)

We saw an advertisement and the Lady was wearing Bacon Jewelry. If I ever see any, will get some for my Wife. She's a Farmer's daughter and they use to Hickory Smoke Virginia Hams along with side meat (Bacon). It's goooood! On the motorcycle/pickup cover topic, been struggling with how to take a 500 pound sport touring motorcycle on camping trips. We have a Leer Shell on our Crew Cab pickup with 5.5' bed. Thinking about buying a pickup with 6.5' bed to haul the motorcycle, but will miss the pickup shell, too. Will follow this thread to help make our final decision.

Furrion Faultsmart 30A Electrical Cable Plug
rideandfly replied to rideandfly's topic in General Discussion
Used the RV 30A/110V to 110V plug adapter with the 30A RV Circuit Analyzer. The house circuit/110V adapter check out OK. Checked voltage coming out of the Furrion 30A cable and it's the same as the outlet it's plugged into, moving/wiggling complete cable while checking voltage. The Furrion 30A RV cable red & blue LEDs are not working. Thanks Everyone! Circuit Analyzer using 110V 30A RV adapter plugged into home outlet: -
Furrion Faultsmart 30A Electrical Cable Plug

Buzzy and Dave, Appreciate the info, will check the cord, sounds like my cord might have an issue!!!!! Thanks Everyone! -
Guessing most or all Ollies have this feature, Furrion Faultsmart 30A cord plug LED indicators? Purchased our Ollie used and was not aware of it until seeing LEDs on our plug. Been looking on the Ollie factory website and forum, have not found much info on this feature, probably overlooked it. Our Furrion 30A electrical plug has blue and red LED indicators on it. Did not notice them in the past and when the plug is connected to the electrical outlet box at the campground, can't see the lights because of the box lid covering the lights. Plugged into a standard home outlet today with the RV 30A/110V cord to 110V plug adapter to standard 110V home outlet and plug LED lights did not come on. I'm not an electrician! :) Aware of the optional Progressive Industries EMS Surge Protector installed in Ollies. We've been using a Circuit Analyzer, but the down side it's bulky sandwiched between the 30A cord plug and campground outlet box. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-55310-Defender-Circuit-Analyzer/dp/B00JGJH8QU/ref=sr_1_1?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1470413651&sr=8-1&keywords=camco+circuit+analyzer After looking on the Furrion site, the cable & plug that came with our Ollie has Faultsmart LED indicators on our cord. With the Faultsmart feature someone could check for polarity issues before connecting power to the camper. Oliver Legacy Elite Dexter Suspension Kit
rideandfly replied to rideandfly's topic in Ollie Modifications
Randy, Congrats on your Ollie!!!! Another Ollie owner was asking, so I posted this thread to learn if anyone has done this mod yet. -
Has anyone here installed the Dexter K71-358-00 Heavy Duty Suspension Kit on their single axle Ollie? Looks like the following kit might work but may need two extra bronze bushings for two step bolts in the kit. Just finished installing the Dexter EZ Flex system on our Ollie. Thanks, http://www.dexteraxle.com/inc/sdetail/3902 https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Suspension/Dexter/K71-358-00.html Bigfoot installation: http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f72/greasable-wet-shackle-kit-installed-on-bigfoot-62285.html

John and Liye, Welcome and congrats on the Ollie!!!!! If you call Dexter with one of the axle serial numbers stamped on the axle, like the one in the following photo, they can tell you about your axle assemblies. Ours also has a sticker with capacity on it. We purchased our used Ollie, hull 075, May 2016. Hope this helps!

Marc, Congrats on your Ollie and Welcome to the Forum! Will probably be in the Huntsville area with our Ollie next September or October! -
Had time to finish the other side of the project this morning. On this pivot bracket, the bottom left plastic bushing had failed and was completely gone with the top right bushing very loose after 9000 miles:

Found this thread today started during 2008 on rv.net about Dexter EZ Flex installations. After jacking up the Trailer, many folks use two jacks to lift and lower axles during the modification. Many photos and good ideas. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/21609645.cfm

Grayson, Nice looking rack and installation! Thanks for posting photos!

Kevin, I normally refer to manufacturers guidelines for vehicle use. This might be the information you were reading. Found another forum referring to David's RV Tips about tow vehicle wheel base in relation to trailer length: http://davidsrvtips.blogspot.com/2009/03/how-long.html

Don, There's two EZ flex 45 degree fittings per side: EZ flex fittings not visible from this view, but four shackle fittings are visible: Two spring shackle pins per side, too: Hope this helps! :)
-
Will post about the ride. Thanks!
-
John, It's my preference. Fittings are easy for me to access with tires installed and grease using grease gun flex hose. 45 degree and 90 degree zerk fittings could be installed if someone wants them, but I don't need them. Will not have to crawl under the camper to grease it either.
-
Thanks!!!! :) Pumped grease through each fitting before and after installation. Everything is taking grease easily. Will finish the other side tomorrow morning! The beam/ATV lift I used could be replaced by two small bottle or floor jacks. The advantage of the beam, could slide the axles easily aligning shackle/spring holes.

Purchased a Dexter EZ Flex kit from Nick's Truck Parts, part number K71-653-00. http://www.dexteraxle.com/inc/sdetail/18100 The following is how I installed this kit as an experiment only, not intended as installation instructions. I'm confident there are safer methods used by RV/Trailer professionals. Installed one side of the kit this morning and plan to install the other side of the kit tomorrow. Connected the Ollie to the Tacoma and placed weight on the front jack: Chocked both wheels with four chocks on the opposite side and put weight on that jack also: Lifted the wheels off the ground on side for kit installation with on board Ollie jack. Also placed jack stand under Ollie frame in case of trailer jack failure: Used a Craftsman ATV jack and with two 10' long 2X4s cut in half and screwed together to support both axles at the same time. Cut notches in the 2X4 beam to hold the axles in place, decided not use to the notches (axles did not fit perfectly), flipped the beam over and used the smooth side & worked OK. Using the 5' long jack/beam with ATV jack to support both axles during project: Removed shoulder shackle bolt and plastic bushing : Replacing plastic bushing with bronze bushing in spring with bolt & nut pulling bushing into spring: Bronze Bushing Installed: Shackle bolt, bushing, and spring assembled with bolt grease outlet hole axis parallel to Ollie frame: Removed shackle bolts and center pivot bolt for EZ Flex Equalizer installation: All of the original Dexter bolts and plastic bushings were in good condition except for the center pivot plastic bushing, it was starting to wear through and fail. Our Ollie has about 9000 miles since new.

Coy, That's a great way to store chains & 7 pin cord. :)
