  1. There is a line somewhere that delineates camping from glamping. One I do, the other I abhor. I'm not really sure where that line is, but I've seen the extremes on both sides. The Oliver is an amazingly well-built trailer with quite a few amenities, but it falls way short of glamping.
  2. My Oliver would actually fit in the closet I built for my wife, lengthwise, anyway. This is where I come to life. We live in the country, but it just isn't country enough. The Oliver gets us out where the mall crawlers dare to tread: campgrounds. Although, I really like dispersed camping. It is much harder to find good places like that.
  3. Bigger is not always better, especially when you get older and maintaining a massive trailer or Class A gets to be a chore. I bought the OTT to get outdoors. I go home to be in a big house. Nothing beats the size, beauty and luxury of a brick and mortar home. I certainly don’t want wheels on it.
  4. Mine has the Truma and the black ducts are very stiff and substantial. They also provide an adequate amount of conduction that heats the fresh water tank and the pipes around it. If it wasn't so late, I would provide a picture. My Pillow is calling me like a siren song.
  5. My experience is very similar to @jd1923 and @Ollie-Haus. There is just something about trying out all the wrong stuff before finding the right stuff. Sure makes you appreciate how amazing the OTT is.
  6. My bathroom stays pretty cold as well. So far, I just leave the door open and that helps. I can feel a very minute amount of air coming out of the vent in the bathroom, but it seems like a poor HVAC decision to put more airflow in by the intake vent rather than on the opposite side of the trailer. I think I will check under the vanity to see if it is connected properly and block one of the vent under the bed.
  7. I think it will work as long as it clamps the wheel above the axle line and where the wheel starts to curve back toward the bike. I will also use velcro straps. I think it will work.
  8. This looks like a good rack. However, to get it for two bikes, it will cost $1200 as opposed to $730 for the 1up. Is there more to this rack than meets the eye for it to be almost twice what the other one is?
  9. It does go through a little bit of water to prime, but I don't really limit the amount of water I use. There is 30 in the holding tank, and I generally get more water wherever I am camping. This is a different story when dispersed. In that case, I put the extra water in gallon water jugs and keep for other things. I don't drink the water in the holding tank so it is just used to clean hands, dishes, operate the toilet and clean up at night. 30 gallons is more than enough for about 3 days.
  10. I will have to look at it on my computer later. Hard to see it really well on my phone. I like the quick adjust feature for different size tires and the key lock mechanism.
  11. Thank Thanks for the picture. It does help. My has a Magnum Nomad. It has fat tires and full fenders like your. The velcro straps are a good idea. The front tire doesn’t look like it will be a problem but the rear tire is covered. I thought about removing the fender but the wife handed me divorce papers so i backed off. Lol
  12. My wife’s bike has the plastic fenders. How secure does it feel clamping underneath?
  13. I will need to replace the dinky trailer hitch Oliver decided to put on my trailer though. My wife’s bike has full fenders on it. I wonder if the clamping mechanism will work on that. Their website doesn’t show another option.
  14. This works for me. I actually went out and drained it when the temperatures were about 15 degrees. This is so easy to do, I don't know why I left it running in the first place. It pretty much works instantly when I turn it back on.
  15. I have a front hitch on my Ranch Hand bumper. I tried mounting the bikes on it and they were way over the top of the hood obstructing my field of view. Another reason I won't mount in front, my bumper already sits 18 inches beyond the front of the truck, add a rack and two bikes and I've just extended the front of my TV farther forward than I am comfortable with. According to the NHTSA, in 2019 there were 2.8 million front collisions vs 1.5 million rear. That would mean I would double the risk of smashing my expensive bikes with it mounted in the front vs the back. Another issue would be bugs on my bikes. If I cover them, I will obstruct the air from entering the radiator. In Texas, that could be disastrous. Finally, it just looked ugly. 😛
  16. Your TV is a F350 Diesel Lariat Tremor pulling a $100k trailer. They know.
  17. That is a beefy bike rack. I like it.
  18. I love that one. In fact, I love a lot of the old classics. New stuff? Not so much.
  19. Every time she gets out to "push", she finds another pretty rock to add to her collection in the trailer somewhere.
  20. I sort of anticipated this problem before it got cold here in Texas. I left the cap off of the fill line and let the water drain out by lifting the front of the camper. Water seems to get trapped in there when level.
  21. That was a concern of mine as well. I opened the housing and looked at the way Truma built the heating system. The shielding around the burners is fairly impregnable without tools and the exhaust is routed out and down. It would take a very powerful burst of wind directed inside the vent to worry me about that. Even so, the design wouldn't allow gas venting if the flame blew out, it would just relight it. Regardless, I drove close to 800 miles on highways and interstates with no problem.
  22. Yes. I have and it works. If you leave your heat running in your trailer while towing it to keep your water from freezing, you might as well leave the Truma on. However, like @Rolind mentioned, Truma has a feature that allows you to easily drain it from the outside once you shut the water supply valve off under the curb side bed. This is the main reason I didn't buy the antifreeze kit.
  23. Almost everywhere we go unless dispersed.
  24. I remember those days. Also, when you could pitch a tent in the woods and not spend an hour collecting trash someone left behind.
  25. Welcome to the club.
