  1. Beautiful waterfalls and pleasant humans sound great. My wife is always looking for those perfect towns like you see in a Hallmark Christmas movie.
  2. Welcome, Dusty. I'm a new Oliver owner as well though mine hasn't arrived yet. I can't wait to share your refit journey. Keep us updated. Pictures would be awesome.
  3. That's cool. I don't believe in vampires, but if I camped there, I would bring flashlights with daylight bulbs, a bag of garlic, sharpened wooden stakes, holy water and picture of Roddy Macdowall.
  4. Boondocking is very appealing to me, not so much for my wife, but she is coming around to it. The composting toilet would be fine for me as well, but my wife would never go for it. She has a tremendous sense of smell which gives her migraine headaches from time to time. The maintenance doesn't bother me at all. I have a shop and an incredible number of tools which allows me to tinker a lot. I'd probably be bored if I didn't have some bolts to torque and chassis grease zirks to lube. I am 6'3" and my wife is 6'2". The head will never be big enough. However, I figured it doesn't have to be. We don't spend much time in there, so size doent matter in this regard. The twin beds might be a bit tight at 75 inches but I'm hoping it will be fine. The dents in the Airstream during a hailstorm is one of the main reasons I went with the Oliver. There are many others, but this was a big one. We have endured a lot of storms while camping. I would be nervous in a tin can, but this boat should be fine.
  5. I will be adding these to mine. Thank for the link.
  6. This would be great to own if you lived in Transylvania. I enjoy some bright lights at times, on my truck going down a muddy trail, security lights on a house, and seldomly when being attacked by a bear or something while camping. Most of the time, the stars provide all the ambience I need to enjoy life.
  7. Ah well. If you didn't have all this to do when you got to your destination, you might be bored anyway. Or roped into doing some other camp chore. I really look at these mods as fun because it is just cool to fiddle with our adventure rigs.
  8. If I could do anything, I would turn the whole thing into an Intrepid class Captains Yacht. Or better yet, a Klingon Bird of Prey. Alas, my wife already thinks I'm a dork, so i will probably just opt for the rubber band slinging Phaser under the pillow.
  9. That all works fine with me. I rarely hook up to more than electric and water where I camp and since we use little water, I don't even need that. Plus, I'll be picking up in December, so i will only use what is in my tank anyway. I really can't imagine filling up the black tank in the few days I will be there. 15 gallons. whooo.
  10. Are you thinking that filtering the water will cut down on the scale buildup?
  11. Thanks so much. I haven't completely gone through everything in Oliver University so I hadn't seen this. This is good stuff, though, and didn't want to pass up the opportunity.
  12. This is cool. Where can I find one for a 2023 LE2?
  13. That sucks. I am a firm believer in KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). The filter I have is a three-part system. It came with the trailer. Thankfully, it has a bypass, so now it NEVER gets used. I only use a water pressure regulator with a screen filter. If we want filtered water to drink, we use a tabletop filtration system.
  14. I have a filter in my other camper. It is fine until it is time to winterize. I have to take it completely apart. Don't forget to put a bypass system in place when you hook it up.
  15. I'm not quite a Trekkie but I certainly love me some science fiction. Probably going to have to mount some lights under the egg now.
  16. Either that or Meriwether Lewis CG. Either way, it will provide a good opportunity to shake out all the bugs.
  17. We are that kind of camper. We went from tents to a Class A with three slides. Then from there to various campers. This one is smallest, but we enjoyed tent camping so it will be perfect for us. Especially when my wife takes it solo.
  18. We've been doing this. My wife also had a dream about camping in this trailer. She's probably even more excited about it than I am, and that is saying a lot.
  19. Downloading the Owner's manual and equipment manuals is a great idea. I have already begun watching the videos. Thankfully, there isn't much in the Oliver that differs from some of the other campers I have had in the past. My wife and I enjoy a lot of flexibility so travelling together for extended periods isn't too difficult. We have a Tuesday delivery scheduled. Hopefully, Oliver can stick to the schedule, but like I said, we are flexible. The mothership reference is quite funny. When she hears it, m wife will start calling Ollie people aliens.
