  1. I did think of another negative to the windows. In fact, I discovered it today when I opened the window to get pictures. They stick out about face level. They do leave an impression upon the foolish or unwary.
  2. Wire it to this? https://fithops.com/products/fithops-camp-safe-12-gauge-perimeter-trip-rescue-alarm?variant=41448589459523&utm_campaign=1872547140&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=69485715785&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=1872547140&gclid=Cj0KCQjwotDBBhCQARIsAG5pinN8D3_ApmbpWX1uKkqAQuYFJpSrlq0JsbLG3ESk-hcciu7hNo8Mn8gaAkd1EALw_wcB
  3. My windows are basically brand new, so I don’t have any reason to replace them. However, it seems replacing them with oem products might not be possible if for some reason they need it. If I did need to replace one, I would likely consider the double pane acrylics. Yes, one would look weird, so I would do them all. That would likely cost about $1,500. Not bad for an upgrade, but definitely not something I would do unless I had to.
  4. Have you been able to source some that will fit the openings of your oliver?
  5. Remind me never to visit. 😂
  6. While I agree with everything you said and do, I have some campgrounds I love that occasionally have issues with some interesting people. It happens in almost every CG I have visited. That said, most thieves are not only stupid but opportunists. They see something of value, they grab it, not realizing it can’t be used because it is tied to your account. They grab, try to pawn for drug money or such, get nothing and do it again. It is ridiculous, makes no sense, but it is human nature in its most basic sense. I leave nothing to chance on valuable items.
  7. I certainly love these windows. It was one of the selling points of the Black Series trailer. I took some pictures of mine since the rain finally stopped. The outside: Integrated bugscreen and thermal shield not only work great, they also eliminate 99 percent of light coming into or out of the trailer. My only real concern is with scratching. However, if they can be buffed or covered with a protective film, that solves it. Except for one addition item. They are quite expensive.
  8. I like this idea. I may do it myself. By the way, is that your address on the box?
  9. I sent a request in over a month ago and Oliver hasn’t responded back yet. Mine seems to be working fine so far, but I haven’t traveled too much over bumpy roads. Still waiting.
  10. Seems such a tempting target for thieves. How do you secure it?
  11. Absolutely this. Thank you.
  12. The windows you pictured are very nice double pane acrylic Overlands. I have them in my Black Series. The only downside is that they don’t come with integrated screens and they are very expensive. I also worry about scratching them. As far as I know, they dont make these in double pane glass. The frameless are nice but only single pane.
  13. That is either a manufacturers defect or you are using some of those 30 year old “you never know when we might need these” zip ties. The only ones that ever failed out of the pack are the ones that couldn’t resist the gorilla grip test.
  14. As far as GPS goes, I use my iPhone and Google maps. I don't always go the direction it tells me but it works and I don't have to buy anything else that could potentially go wrong. Paper maps, of course, are always a must. Never rely completely upon technology.
  15. Same. I ordered mine with the camera. Total junk. However, if I have some bikes back there, it might be useful to keep an eye on them. I did the same until I had two blowouts in the same camping trip. I now use a TPMS device that keeps track of not only pressure but temperature. I use this in addition to the old school method of "kicking" the tires.
  16. I deleted my picture of the map. Copied the URL for the image as follows: Then I just hit the paste function on the profile: CTRL V Edit: Of course, I hit the save button as well.
  17. I just changed mine to a new image with all one color. Testing. Edit: Seems to work for mine. It didn't require the typical bb code for img like the instructions say to use.
  18. Nice. Increasing the surface for adhesion makes sense. I have also noticed that the white zip ties seem to break down much faster than the black ones. UV light perhaps is to blame since the black ones are more UV resistant.
  19. Are you following this instruction?
  20. I agree, but if they are going out of business, they simply don't owe us anything.
  21. Perhaps a company like this one can help. https://www.steelerubber.com/camper-rv/window-sliding
  22. Sadly, this is typical when it comes to parts made by a third party. Even parts made an RV manufacturer like Oliver can be be discontinued for various reasons. The best we can do, once our trailers are beyond the warranty period, is to "make it work". This means we have to find parts from non-mainstream sources and even make them ourselves. Obviously, this is not ideal, but it is realistic.
  23. My 14 is a 4th gen. The 6.7 is cast iron with the flat tap cam instead of roller lifters. The only drawback is the 68rfe. We opted for a Tradesman crew cab which offered the most tow capacity with adequate comfort. This model has front and rear coils springs allowing for a 10,000 gvwr and 17,000 lbs pulling capacity. I had to upgrade the suspension due to a broken coil spring and Carli, albeit expensive, was the best option. Carli is a super upgrade which combines comfort with strength when optioned with the R2 rear coils springs allowing option that maintains the factory rake and gvwr. I bought the Backcountry version since it seemed to offer the best value for included options and I will install it myself as i do all my upgrades.
  24. I have not noticed any issues with our 2014 Ram 2500 with the Cummins. In fact, other than a bit of power lag, I don’t even notice it back there. This might actually change soon, since I purchased a new Carli suspension upgrade for the truck. Carli offers two different levels of rear coils for my truck, a soft one and a more rigid one, similar to the factory shock, but they have a progressive spring rate. It will be interesting to see if it changes the dynamic of towing for better or worse.
  25. I haven’t wired anything yet, but like @ScottyGSmentioned, I have a cigarette lighter style plug inside the back “attic”. I can tie into that or the USB plug on the other side. Either way, the access port used by the TV as @jd1923 mentioned is a good place to route the wires.
