1. Yet the sewer connection will still be there in the back. Why not put the water hoses up front and keep everything together?
2. Hi Sherry :) We have the 4 T105's and have used the 2000i consistently since 2003. She's getting old and has many thousands of hours on her, but has paid for herself many times over. We even use her when the power's out at home to run everything :) She works perfect with Lil also. Next will be a spare gas tank or 2 for the summer air conditioning. We will definitely have to get together in the future :)
3. The vent is there to keep it from getting pressurized also, I wouldn't plug it ever. It works fine and putting more water in is simple. I was surprised to see it myself but still we didn't need to fill up until yesterday after we showered. I made 2 trips to the water pipe with our 8 gallon tote and it was 100% full. These are nasty mountain roads and we even blocked the drawers closed to keep everything in place before we started out. If you think that you're going to need more water, then just take it with you in 15 gallon drums... I'd rather have water loss then ruptured tanks and we had about 8000 feet of elevation changes. It was full when we started and on that road 20% is a number that I can live with. It won't happen every day. That's the most that we have lost. Don't sweat the small stuff :)
4. Yup it's wrong... I called them and then pointed it out to Jason in person when we picked ours up. They supposedly fixed it but every one that I see is still wrong... Lol. With the pipe the way it is, running the black with the rinse hose hooked up is the only way to clean that line. Thinking that leaving the black valve upen while opening the grey to clean the line just won't work with this system. Honestly, I think that dumping the grey first and then closing it before draining the black might be best, but it's waste water either way...
5. Yea, there's a ton of snow up there this year. June will be a good time and they should have everything cleaned up after the winter we had :) If you come in during the week and walk into the office they can find open spots for you in the valley also usually. That's what Raspy has done all week and he's in a killer spot right now. With the senior pass its $13.00 a night. In Upper Pines CG from 206 and up are prime spots. Basically, the higher the number the better the spots on that section. We had a great camp fire at his camp last night :) Good Times :)
6. So everyone mist... Play on words :) Raspy - John & Liye are here with us in Yosemite in their Ollie #92 and you can see their Ollie in the background of pic#2. I noticed that nobody wrote anything and it says blog, but participate anytime because I'm not up on the lingo if that's why it's still blank :) We've had to use the generator the past couple days to top off the batteries at the end of the day. We started out at 12.3 vdc this morning and we're only up to 12.4 - 5 by. 6pm. It was clowdy and raining off and on here in Yosemite Valley, so, out came the generator again. [attachment file=IMG_20170426_183515.jpg] [attachment file=IMG_20170426_183515~2.jpg] Then tonight we are using the Cobb Grill again, we really love this little Grill and have now used it to make dinner every night. And tonight is pizza night :) [attachment file=IMG_20170426_184147.jpg] [attachment file=IMG_20170426_192113.jpg] And we even have a small waterfall behind our camp :)
7. It's not a heavily serrated diamond plate but rubber like the V- mat would work. If you ask Oliver, I'm sure they would cut a piece for you.
8. Sorry Buzzy, the first was just a question, so you're not seeing 18vdc? My question was, "So if you are seeing 18vdc is the Blue Sky Monitor using an excessive charge and need some different parameters set?" Now I'm wondering if you are seeing more then the 14.7vdc and is this normal and OK? I'm sorry if it looked like I was trying to hijack the thread, that was never my intent. The fridge low voltage information was just to give everyone some basic knowledge of the 9.6vdc battery low voltage cut off to not purposely try to go below. Because people don't normally think about circuit boards having low voltage issues and that includes myself... It was a costly and time consuming lesson learned because of my lack of knowledge at that time on our trailers inner workings. I was just trying to help :) Reed
9. A couple things - I was looking at the charts again and was seeing that the max charge voltage should be 14.7vdc on our 12vdc systems. So if you are seeing 18vdc is the Blue Sky Monitor using an excessive charge and need some different parameters set? Here's the chart from Trojan's pdf [attachment file=52346] _______________________________________________ Next you say that you've taken it down to 8.1vdc and this will only work a few times before frying the control pannel inside the back of the Dometic Refridgerator. I had found out in our Casita that Karen's CPAP would run fine down to around 9.3vdc. But being that the Casita only had one battery, I could run it down this low just over night sometimes. This is one of our main reasons for switching to the 4 batteries in the Ellite II. Most of the time over night we wouldn't drop below 11vdc but then unknowingly when we had been stuck in rain for a week, I thought that I would test it again and it dropped to 9.3vdc over that one night and then the check light came on the fridge. It was around 11vdc when we went to bed and it had been pouring down on us all day. I found out from first hand experience that letting the voltage drop below 10.5vdc anytime will have negative varying circumstances on different items in our systems. On my fridge, I blew the relay on the main board. It was a simple plug and play board basically but still it was $175 for the new board. Both Casita and Oliver use the same fridge, so it's important to note that letting the voltage drop below 10.5vdc anytime will cause problems somewhere in our systems. Then letting it drop below 9.5vdc to many times will fry the main pannel in the fridge, causing it to go into limp mode, which is either run it on AC or DC because the relay that changes it over to run on propane has gone up in smoke... :) This is from the Fridge owners manual, page 142 of the 2016 Oliver Ellite II on the Dometic Fridge - [attachment file=52349] Reed Server issues again... 3rd try at posting
10. A couple things - I was looking at the charts again and was seeing that the max charge voltage should be 14.4vdc on our 12vdc systems. 11. Since the night of February 13th, 2017 we have been living and traveling in our new Oliver Legacy Ellite II and we named her,"The Lil' Nugget". Everything from then until today can be found here - http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/hull-200-in-service/ And here - http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/hull-200-in-service-pt2/ The above links were in the "Delivery Day photos" section and went above and beyond our delivery day by far. So it's time for a fresh start... __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 4/24/17 - An Oliver in the mist... Yesterday we arrived in Yosemite just before dark, then quickly set up the basics because this week we are Boondocking below Half Dome. After that we went over to our friends site across the meadow to see them before bed time. When boondocking we try to not use much water and between yesterday and today, we used up a whopping 5%, which leaves us at 75% today... 75%? But... That doesn't add up? We had filled up with water before leaving Sacramento, but between there and here in Yosemite, the roads are so steep, and winding and rough that 20% had bounced out by the time we got here. We are staying in Upper Pines Campground with 3 other couples and this is the first year that we haven't been able to get our camping spots next to each other like so many times past. This is our yearly Spring gathering here together and this time there's an Oliver in the list :) It was a rainy day today and we finished setting up everything and working around camp. Also more friends came in today and one had never been here before :) 2017 has been one of the greatest flood years ever here in California and just last week the campgrounds were still flooded. So the Falls this year are huge... "How huge?" you ask, well those pics will come soon :) We counted 40 different waterfalls here in Yosemite last night as we drove in. And that was just from the Highway 140 enterance. We even have a small one living right out our back window. Here's a few pics from dinner and around the fire tonight Tonight we broke out our new Cobb Grill for the first time and barbequed Tri-tip along with some broccoli. And I switched out one of our propane hoses and hooked our propane fireplace up to the rear port on Lil and had some great fun, good times, and great food. Our first night using the Cobb Grill was a very satisfying success :) Did you see the mist...
12. Now there's a question that I haven't seen yet. Does Oliver balance the tires? Mike, did they need to rebalance them? Or, what did the tire company say? That could be part of our cabinet issue if they were out a lot :) I balanced the tires on my Casita but it never came to mind until now that ours may not have come balanced from the factory.
13. 2lbs? Wow :) I probably have a pound now after resetting them. It took just a light pull before to open them. They slid in and closed on their own but didn't catch the magnet, so there was basically no force needed to open them being the magnets had a 1/8+" gap between all of them and the pieces of metal that they used for the catch plate. We made it to Yosemite today and man 99 is such a rough highway... I pulled the cushions from the table and stacked them in front of them all to make sure that they all stayed closed because the road in is your standard old steep & twisting mining road. When I turned on the tablet I had 1bar and 4g and it worked. Then I turned on the Cell Booster and got 3 bars and the 4g is much faster.
14. Very Nice :)
15. Only if your putting in dirty water. We do have a good filter to use on bad water also but we never put bad water into the tank. https://www.amazon.com/LIFESAVER-Expedition-Jerrycan-Water-Filter/dp/B019G8U952/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1492983573&sr=8-1&keywords=lifesaver+jerry+can
16. Mostly I think that it's because the magnets weren't matched to hit the lock, so the drawers were free floating... And as always California highway 99...
17. Yup, you've missed something... And can read about it here - http://olivertraveltrailers.com/topic/tsb-galley-drawers/
18. Here's a picture of the screws used to fix the drawers. I used the 1" grabber on the left, in the center is the screw that Oliver sent as a replacement, and on the right is the original that pulled out. The 1" grabber really goes in nice and tight. Then for the sponge drawer I bought #12 x 5/8 sheet metal screws and that's as large as the hinge would take. Then here's a pic of the Blum---ing slide Then I had to reset all of the magnet bars so that the magnets would lock on to them. I ended up having to shim them all out about 1/8" to 3/16" and then loosen the magnet half a turn to get them to hold the drawers closed. The drawers actually click into place now like they are suppose to from the factory and they hold strong. But... I have to say that we will be blocking them in place from now on with the cushions from the couch coupled with some pillows from the bed to make sure because the reality is, we haven't even been seriously off road yet and all this damage happened on normal paved streets. The original mirror door was weak, really weak when compared to the new one that we put in the other night and that was a quick and easy fix. But why the one door was so weak and flexible from the factory when compared to the new one is anybodys guess. It's been 3 months and we already have over 7000 miles on the new trailer. It's been quite a ride :)
19. Yup, having the length fully adjustable makes the dip off of the bumper hold its shape. With the Valterra hose being loose, it has a tendency to fall off of the slinky, so the Rhinoflex makes the difference. We end up staying at friends houses a lot and having 30' gets us free hook ups a lot. Our sewer outlet at home is almost 30' and the extra 15' of hose fits inside the bumper with lots of room to spare. I actually have about 50' in ours, just not all Rhinoflex yet...
20. Well.... The 3 drawers that I fixed work great :) The other 2 below the sink were open yesterday... Lol At least they stayed in. Karen asked me why I hadn't fixed them yet.... My answer was pretty simple... Yes Dear... Lol.
21. I would stay away from the waste-master not only because I'm cheap, but because I really doubt that you could get the head to fit in the bumper even with Grinding and bending down the bottom plate. The waste is designed perfectly for the Rhino. And the Rhino comes complete with its own cap. It works fine just the way that it was designed, so don't try to over think it. You will want 30'. I have thought about wastemasters hose ramps but I've had my Camco slinky for years and it's been through a lot ... :)
22. You get reservations 6 months in advance but during the week they have openings and you can boondock on Tioga Pass Rd in places or take Old Tioga Pass Rd to the end to a campground above Yosemite Falls that I believe is first come, first serve. It's a few miles down a dirt road and I didn't see it on their map Here's the link to the reservations https://www.recreation.gov/unifSearchResults.do
23. Yup, it's our normal 12 year cycle flood year here and everyone should see Yosemite this year in the Spring when the falls are at their peak. We went for the 1997 floods, the 2005 floods and then this year tops them all with the 2017 floods, so it's a must see year :) The other years don't matter, the flood years are the greatest by far.
24. Did they tell you that they are leaving the black tank in? I would think they would have no reason to install it at all being that it will now serve no purpose with the composter taking its place... The black tank rinse line is separate from the water connection lines and is hooked up via a separate hose outside, so no water can get in unless you hook water up to it. Then there is still a secondary shut off valve inside next to the tank. And you can just put a wrench on the black tank rinse line inlet and tighten the cap down so that it can't be removed by hand.
