Blackstone info

Recommended Posts

Considering a 17” or 22” black stone. I have a rear storage container but it only can only hold something that is 20.5 inches front to back.  The online info is greater than 20.5 for both grills.

Questions:

1. Does the grease tray come off the back?

2. If the grease tray does come off how much does the save me in depth?

fyi: I’m looking at stripped down models without hoods.

The grease tray comes off. You should get the cover. It keeps the griddle clean

We also have the carry case and the Blackstone quick connect.

Agree, you need to cover it when not in use to keep it clean.

We found that the 22" was too large/heavy for just the two of us and downsized to the 17" which we much prefer.   We don't use the cover but do store it in a Blackstone bag, which we have found is pretty good quality and keeps the grill surface in good shape (assuming it was cleaned/oiled prior to storage).  We use a basting cover stored in the trailer when we need it.  We also use Flame King refillable propane bottles which I really like.

Note - we have to store the grease catch can separately - can't figure a way to fit it into the grill bag.

On my 17” I store the grease catch under the griddle when traveling.

We have the same 22" Black Stone rig as @John Dorrer describes above with quick disconnect for the OTT gas outlet.  We keep the grease catch with its aluminum liners under the lid with the BS steam cover, a couple lodge plates, and a can of olive oil spray.  The whole enchilada fits into the BS carry bag which is the last item loaded into the Tundra's bed.  My bride awarded me with a folding BS cooking table for Father's Day and this current trip is its "Shake-Down" cruise - so to speak.  So far, I'm loving this cooking table!

LOL -  I've tried everything to get ours to fit...but then again, I am not a good puzzle solver!

We can fit the BS Steamer, grease catch, a spatula, and a couple Lodge plates under the lid...  The stand is designed to fit either the 17" or 20" with a pattern of holes on the table top to accommodate the "feet" for either model.

It all lives inside the BS travel bag - the table folds up and is packed separately.

Check out the cool BS spatula stand:
