Sandman Posted Saturday at 09:22 PM Posted Saturday at 09:22 PM Hello experts. i mistakenly connected my battery in reverse polarity when reconnecting in the dark garage its stored in. i replaced the fuses in the panel that were blown, but the inverter doesn’t work and i think I need to replace the 300 A DC fuse. Is it safe to connect to and use shore power until i get things checked out? Depending on the wiring of your Oliver (there are many variants), shore power may not connect with a blown inverter or blown main 300A fuse. But given the main fuse blew your inverter is likely OK. You can try to connect to shore power, but without replacing the 300A fuse to reconnect your batteries, it likely will not work anyway and either way you would NOT have lighting or 12VDC accessories. You need to disconnect your batteries anyway after this accident. Test voltage on each one separately. Given they are LiFePO4 batteries, if they read much less than 10V they are in trouble but perhaps can be revived. Slow charge each one separately. Some of the small chargers, like this one have repair functions that pulse a small charge on and off to help. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W3QT226/ Let us know of your progress and there are many of us who can help. Sandman Posted Saturday at 10:12 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:12 PM Thanks. I have lights and jacks work after replacing those fuses, but inverter is powerless and won’t reset. I will hook up shore power later to see what works. And I have AGM batteries. Voltage is 99% on the Victron meter 1 Tim & Camille, Tucson AZ and Chaska MN 2024 LE1 Hull #1478 Tow vehicle: 2024 F150 Powerboost with 7.4 kW generator with Anderson hitch and TPMS on the trailer.
Galway Girl Posted Saturday at 10:59 PM Posted Saturday at 10:59 PM I see you have a 2024 LE1. Which inverter do you have? I see in a xantrex XC2000 manual that there is a in internal fuse that may have blown due to a reverse polarity and there's a led light on the back side of the inverter that comes on if a reverse polarity happens. 2 2019 Elite II (Hull 505 - Galway Girl - August 7, 2019 Delivery) Tow Vehicle: 2021 F350 King Ranch, FX4, MaxTow Package, 10 Speed, 3.55 Rear Axle Batteries Upgrade: Dual 315GTX Lithionics Lithiums - 630AH Total Inverter/Charger: Xantrex 2000Pro Travel BLOG: https://4-ever-hitched.com Lower 48 + Alaska Achieved in Maine in Aug 2024 on way to Nova Scotia.
Sandman Posted Saturday at 11:27 PM Author Posted Saturday at 11:27 PM Thanks I’ll check that too. i appreciate all the great advice. Tim & Camille, Tucson AZ and Chaska MN 2024 LE1 Hull #1478 Tow vehicle: 2024 F150 Powerboost with 7.4 kW generator with Anderson hitch and TPMS on the trailer.
Sandman Posted 19 hours ago Author Posted 19 hours ago I tested the DC in line fuse for continuity (which was ok) and verified that there is 12 V at the terminals in the inverter. The Xantrex manual doesn't indicate the presence of an internal DC fuse and that an external fuse is necessary. I did replace a blown fuse in Victron MPPT 100I20 charge controller and the batteries now appear to be charging from solar power. Without shore power, there is no display (or alarm) on the inverter display and the inverter will not turn on with the power button. With shore power, there is the following display without an error message. Is there some reset procedure for the inverter or it is toast? What does it mean that there's Shore power display but none on DC, even though I've confirmed 12 V at the inverter? I will call Oliver in the morning but I appreciate the input and suggestions> Tim Tim & Camille, Tucson AZ and Chaska MN 2024 LE1 Hull #1478 Tow vehicle: 2024 F150 Powerboost with 7.4 kW generator with Anderson hitch and TPMS on the trailer.

Sandman Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago Thanks, I spoke with Oliver and Xantrex this morning. Oliver walked me through a reset procedure but that didn't work. Xantrex thinks its probably the two reverse polarity fuses inside the inverter that could be replaced and might work, but a board could be fried. The only Xantrex service places near me (Minnepolis) are camping world and since the reverse polarity error negates the warranty (pun intended), I'm responsible for costs. So I'm checking into a solar place near me. Maybe upgrade to Li batteries too with a turn off switch so I don't do the same thing again. Thanks again for all the suggestions. 1 Tim & Camille, Tucson AZ and Chaska MN 2024 LE1 Hull #1478 Tow vehicle: 2024 F150 Powerboost with 7.4 kW generator with Anderson hitch and TPMS on the trailer.
