CedarForks
This is my first attempt at de-winterizing/sanitizing. The tank was 60% full and now reads 25% but it has stopped draining. I tried opening the faucets to increase pressure but that hasn't helped. Help please!
Moderators Mike and Carol Posted April 29, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 29, 2019 Try raising the front of your trailer. The fresh and gray tanks are very flat. Hope this helps. Moderators topgun2 Posted April 29, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 29, 2019 After taking Mike's suggestion, don't worry about it (too much). All you are doing with the fresh water tank is sanitizing it. Assuming that you have done the bleach and flush routine simply take a sniff of the water that is left in the tank. If it still smells like bleach then either flush it another time or two and/or add a small amount of baking soda before you flush it that final time. Even if there is a hint of bleach odor left after flushing - it will not harm you. CedarForks
That helped a lot: it's draining again.
John E Davies
You can always pump the water out with the water pump. It is faster that way and won’t hurt anything. If you don’t want to fill your gray tank you can lock the outside shower handle on and let it water the roses.... The belly drain is not the fastest setup, for sure, even with the tongue raised a little. Moderator+ ScubaRx Posted April 29, 2019 Moderator+ Share Posted April 29, 2019 If you're coming in from a trip with water in the fresh tank that you plan to dump when you get there, open the drain valve for the fresh water tank about thirty miles from home. It will be empty when you get there. Try to remember to close it if you don't a mess when you start to fill it next time. Moderators SeaDawg Posted April 29, 2019 Moderators Share Posted April 29, 2019 For the new folks, that advice might be ok in a rural area, trailing freshwater as you go, but, a cop can't tell fresh from grey or black.
