Jairon
I've seen a lot of well executed table ideas for the twin bed table setups like Overland's excellent 8020 Lagun mount. Still, I have a hard time ignoring the usable space that the standard wrap around table option provides. This is especially true for insane families of 4 that still opt for the Oliver. 🤪 I've poked around the forums but couldn't find anyone entertaining the idea of using a marine mounted adjustable table that could drop both the rear dinette and the smaller front table down to the bed position. While this option would still be annoying to perform on a daily bases, it would be far less than obnoxious than removing the current legs every night. Is anyone aware of someone that has performed this modification? If not, can anyone speculate on why this hasn't been done other than the simple fact that something like 80% of Olivers sold opt for the twin layout? Is there anything special about how the current table mounts are screwed into the fiberglass? e.g. extra fiberglass reinforcement or backing plates? Moderators SeaDawg Posted July 28, 2020 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2020 Personally, I think an adjustable Lagun mount in the small dinette would be the bomb. I use the small dinette as extra counter space. At counter height would save my back, and Paul could easily bring it down at night for watching tv or reading at the forward seat. 2008 Ram 1500 4 × 4 2008 Oliver Elite, Hull #12 Florida and Western North Carolina, or wherever the truck goes.... 400 watts solar. Overland
I don’t think that there’s any additional reinforcement, but I don’t know if it would be needed either. I say go for it.
Moderators mossemi Posted July 28, 2020 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2020 Jairon, You have an interesting idea. But as someone who bought a standard bed LE2, you will spend a lot more time moving cushions than table legs. Granted there are only 2 of us and not 4 unless we count the dogs. We eventually opted for the twin bed conversion and gladly put the large dining table in storage. Moderators SeaDawg Posted July 28, 2020 Moderators Share Posted July 28, 2020 (edited) In our Elite I, we keep the big dinette set up as a bed all the time. I'm not really sure where the leg is, anymore. We use the underbed storage as premium space. Three crates. It's good that Oliver builds a basic floor plan that can be modified according to individual needs. When a design is too complicated, the options for personal choices are limited. It is fun, however to see some of the innovative ideas owners come up with. 1 Ray and Susan Huff Elite II Twin "Pearl" - Hull#699; delivered December 7, 2020 2013 F350 6.7l diesel Super Duty 4x4 long bed crew cab 1UP-USA Heavy-duty bike rack 2017 Leisure Travel Van Unity Twin Bed (sold)

I’ve got one in storage, too. We need to come up with an alternate use for those things.
Jairon
Does anyone know how wide the benches are in the non-twin layout? My guess is 25 inches.
