  1. Pete and Oscar, travel America coast to coast and border to border. And sometimes beyond. Most of us have ran into them out on the road somewhere along the way, enjoyed their company and went on our way smiling. Here is a look at Oscar and Betty during a boat ride on lake Greeson in Arkansas during a Oliver gathering/fishing trip. Look at those smiles ! See that smile, standing top right, he's getting ready for the fish fry ! Pete , no smile now, he's totally focused on that plate of catfish ! That large plate of catfish fillets forced Pete into a recliner where he fell into a deep catfish coma ! Here he is as he begins to recover. All of this was such great fun, but one time Pete and Oscar came to our rescue when I pinched a nerve while hosting a campground up in the front range of the Rocky Mountains. We were glad indeed to see their smiling faces when they came to our aid. Oliver owners, more than friends, they're family.

  2. Larry, I have been reading your articles regarding cooking outdoors, especially using cast iron cookware. I have several pieces that I have purchased, and some inherited all the way back to my great-grandmother. One of my favorite, Lodge, manufactures all of their cookware in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, not too far from Chattanooga. Although Lodge has several outlet stores, the "Mother"store is next-door to the manufacturing plant in South Pittsburg. There they also manufacture a line of cast iron stoves, like my grandmothers "Warm Morning" cast iron stove. In the "Mother" Lodge factory store, they carry all types of cookware, accessories and new items. Disclaimer- I am not associated with Lodge, just a loyal customer of iron cookware and much more importantly, the great food that is much better cooked in ironware.

  3. My attempt at elk calling was a poor imitation of the hellacious guttural sound you summoned from the depths of your being that actually resulted in the bull elk below sending a resounding challenge back to you. I was impressed mightily.

  5. Well we must be related 'cuz we have a bit of the same facial features, Larry. That guy waking up from a fish-coma in the camo overalls is YOU buddy!!!! My glasses are similar and we both have an ability to readily show our surprise, but I DO NOT OWN A PAIR OF CAMO OVERALLS!!!!!!!!! Back at ya buddy . . . hehehe BTW, that is one of my favorite pictures of Oscar, with the wind in his face, on Betty's lap. Wooohoooooooo!

  7. Our members go to the coolest of places and it is quite entertaining to view their public photos and videos. It's easy, just click on a member's avatar or user name and when you arrive at their profile page select either video's or photos to view them ! For example, here is my profile page, just scroll down and select videos to view a video of your choice: http://olivertraveltrailers.com/user/mountainborn/ Here is one of those videos taken down at the National Seashore on Padre Island back in 2009 while camping in hull #3:

  8. Routlaw, I'll have my wife in the trailer reading the level as I use the stabilizers. Man I love those things. Overland, The tank thickness I do not know and you raise a good point. I always assumed it wouldn't be more than 1/8 to 3/16 inches but I never could get that info. That would, of course affect my calculations by a small amount. Still hope to talk to the tank manufacturer. Even assuming a 1/4" tank thickness, there is a lot of water left in the tank that requires raising up the trailer to get to, which to me is not good practice, and is also just that much more extra weight I have to carry around. Stan, Yep, gotta have a level frying pan! I installed a lot of kitchens and making the stove perfectly level was a top priority! Dave

  9. Stan, a very kind offer that we will embrace when our travel schedule is leisurely. We live in southern CA and our round trip to TN spans eleven glorious days-eight of which exploring the diversity of I-40. Looking forward to meeting you sometime soon in the shade.
