Good sam has been good to us on towing insurance. It's pretty cheap. Probably give it a fly on a new trailer. Sherry

I thought that someone on the forum towed with the 2.7. It would be good to hear from them. Personally, I think it would be fine, especially since the 10-speed transmission seems to do a really good job of keeping the engine in its power band. And the numbers don’t lie - it’s a strong little engine. Having said that, you’ll always find situations where you want more power, regardless how much you have on tap. Even with the raptor engine, there have been times when I’ve wanted more and I’m sure the diesel 250 owners here will say the same. But of course every time I stop for gas, I wish I had the 2.7, lol. Actually, I’m interested to know how their new small diesel tows in a 150.

SUPERTRUSS EXTENSION.jpg] John; All good points to ponder but I have previously investigated the extended hitch and you're right, as the hitch goes out, the tongue weight allowed goes go down dramatically. The SuperHitch however has taken this into account and provided the additional construction and engineering to specially account for this scenario. If you read the data available from the linked website, you can see how they did this. They in fact use a chain system similar to the Andersen equalizer as well as using a second 2" receiver, one on top of the other. That is why they rate the system at 2K tongue weight and 17K-20K pull weight. It's an interesting system that was suggested to me by a very reputable off-road fabrication shop that specializes in unique towing issues. Superhitch in fact, has systems that extend out to well over 4' that are engineered to handle 30K lbs.. The one I'm looking at is the shortest one they make. Now, you're point about total weight on the rear of the truck is valid and I'll look into that. You are correct about the extension being a knee knocker so when disconnected from the trailer, I would simply remove the extension and put in the rear of the truck or otherwise, drop the tailgate which covers the extension. When I'm not hauling the ATV, the standard hitch goes in vice the 21" version. As far as having Oliver extend the frame, I think we're too far down the road for that one. The trailer has been in productions since mid-Oct. Interesting discussion and I'm open to other suggestions or concerns. Thanks again. I don’t want to dismiss anyone’s current issues, and I think it’s inevitable that there will always be trailers coming off the line with problems; but judging from posts here, the number of problems don’t seem anywhere near what it was like with units in the 200’s. And prospective owners should know that my trailer in particular was subject to production pressures that don’t apply to current buyers. In regards to my original post, all those problems were corrected and today my wife and I couldn’t be happier nor more willing to recommend Olivers to others.

For all those planning to attend the 2019 Rally, I'm offering up my place to camp before or after the rally. We have a "farm" with plenty of open space, water, and a place to dump you tanks if needed. Electricity is available, but most likely just a 20 amp circuit. We are located on the south side of Tim's Ford Lake, in Winchester TN. Our location is about 20 min to Jack Daniel Distillery, Lynchburg, TN about 40 min from George Dickel Distillery, Winchester, TN. We are about 1 hour to Chattanooga, and 2 hrs. to Nashville. Lots to do if you have never spent much time in this area. Easy entry off a paved road, and grassy treed area for camping.
