  1. Camping Spot: Devil’s Tower National Monument No reservations here but no issues for us arriving about 3 in the afternoon with lots of sites to choose from. We had one in loop A and from our door had an unobstructed view of the Tower. No power or water on site, restrooms on both loops. You are in a perfect place to explore the Tower. We did three trails one in the evening and two in the AM. Really special location. Loved it and only $10.

  2. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BWYO2PM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I have been using the middle sized (200 series) unit for several years in my 225 sq ft bedroom and it has been excellent. It traps a ton of particulates and with the bedroom door closed it makes the room much fresher feeling. For an allergy sufferer it is a godsend. I also use a HEPA filter element in my HVAC system but it can only do so much.... this gives me a “clean room” to stay in if the pollen or smoke is bad. I have used it in the Ollie but it is really too big for that small space. I had to leave it on the floor under the table and pack the area with soft duffles so it would not move during travel. I just received the small one, it will work much better in the smaller volume of the trailer. It uses a single pair of filters instead of two pairs. The small one is a much better fit: And I have space in the closet for it to travel in. It is just a little too wide to fit in an overhead compartment. The medium one draws a maximum of 0.85 amps at 120 volts, the small one draws 0.5 amps, so there will be a measurable energy savings when running off the inverter and batteries. Plus it is a little quieter. There are four speeds. On Low it uses hardly any power, so I don’t worry about leaving it running all the time. OEM filters are expensive, I use the way cheaper generics with no problem. I do vacuum the foam pre-filter often to remove the accumulated dust and I blow out the HEPA filter with low pressure compressed air to extend its life. The units have a filter minder to tell you if the airflow is restricted. Air is drawn in the front and exits out the top, so you can place it tight against a wall, no worries. I really like this design. I researched all the other manufacturers and models and decided on this one for a lot of reasons. The only thing I DON’T like is the easy open filter door (press in two places and it pops free at the top). This isn’t a great feature for a unit that will travel and be handled often. You have to be aware of this and check it sometimes to make sure the door is closed, otherwise.... highly recommended. For those of you camping in the West during wildfire season, this would be very helpful to make the nasty air breathable if you get caught downwind. This is an accessory that you don’t think about, but after using it I would not want to travel without one. 3. I could be wrong (hasn't happened before but ya never know), but, the tag light only will come on when your TV lights are on. I'd probably split off the basement light with a switch right at the basement door so that you could turn the camera on/off when you want or need it. The switch in the photo above was placed by Oliver during my original build and my camera is mounted in the spare tire cover. Bill

  4. Camping Spot: Friend’s Barn Talk about unique. Because of the forecast for storms and hail our friends had us back into a barn. How cool is this. Appreciated as well when a strong storm rocked the night. Near Dickinson, ND.

  5. Camping Spot: Badlands National Park This is a campground in a super location that needed a bit more thought. It is essentially small loop roads that you park on the side of the road where it is “slightly” wider. When two RV’s are across from each other it is tight. Because of the rain, some sites were under water. Rest rooms were old but well kept. A few sites have electric, no water at any site. Each site had a nice picnic table with a bit of shelter. We paid about $13 a night, certainly worth the price and really nice to be in the park for early morning and late evening easy access. They take reservations but otherwise first come first serve.

  6. Just get the 3/4 ton diesel and fergedaboudit. Anything smaller and you will be constantly thinking about weight and will most likely be close to or over your limits. You don’t need a one ton unless you really plan to carry your machine shop.

  7. I would think the best place for this type of arrangement would be under the bridge.

  8. Would this work as well as pipe cleaners? I have not tried any window weep ideas yet, but need to add to my travel list

  9. On our last trip to SE Oregon, we encountered terrific thunderstorms with incredible downpours. As I watched our window wells fill up with water, I remembered this post. But had no pipe cleaners. But I did have 1/8" paracord! I cut off a bunch of 3" pieces and worked them in the weep slot of our windows. They worked beautifully with steady drips coming off the end of the cord and dry window wells! Another good use for paracord. Thanks for the idea. Dave Edit: I see now that the original post was started by Mossemi, thanks again!

  10. I know that Jason Walmsley was working on some upgrades, cleaning code, and generally trying to make the Forum faster this morning. This work caused some Forum functions to temporally be suspended. It is likely that at this time all functions should be back to normal. Bill

  11. Yep. You could get the credit on both. When we did ours, we took the credit for all our panels, batteries, charger, charge controller, inverter, monitors, wiring, etc. Saved us a ton of money. Most don’t realize that you can take the credit on the factory solar option and battery upgrades when you buy new.
