  3. Look at the Garmin BC 40 Backup Camera, from what I have seen and read this is a good camera and mounts on the license plate frame as well as other places. Due note that if you are using a bike rack or some other rack this location on the license plate could obstruct your view. I just purchased a new Garmin with a 7" screen with backup camera option, personally I don't like the in dash unit from the factory as it can't be adjusted wile driving and I need something to keep the wife busy. trainman

  4. I would suggest putting a temporary cigarette lighter plug on the transmitter power wires and use that for testing. Maybe try the camera in the back window or run the cable from the camera to the transmitter through the window. I am not familiar with the camera, but based on JD's install it seems to have an extension cable that can be used to mount the transmitter further away from the camera and closer to the display/receiver in the tow vehicle. I would also suggest putting the switch and transmitter in the area of the main lighting switch panel just inside the door if the transmitter did not work in the attic area. Oliver mounts their camera switch there and the wiring is already there. It's also easier to route the extension cable on the curb side, as you don’t have the pantry to deal with. Keep us posted.

  5. I didn’t use screen. I used a block of open cell foam roughly 3 inches cubed that was a scrap from a large fish tank filter. I believe the pores are small enough to stop the gnats, but air still passes through easily. I trimmed it until it was a snug fit in the stack pipe. HTH, Ken

  7. Camping Spot: Friend’s Barn Talk about unique. Because of the forecast for storms and hail our friends had us back into a barn. How cool is this. Appreciated as well when a strong storm rocked the night. Near Dickinson, ND.

  8. Camping Spot: Devil’s Tower National Monument No reservations here but no issues for us arriving about 3 in the afternoon with lots of sites to choose from. We had one in loop A and from our door had an unobstructed view of the Tower. No power or water on site, restrooms on both loops. You are in a perfect place to explore the Tower. We did three trails one in the evening and two in the AM. Really special location. Loved it and only $10.

  9. Camping Spot: Badlands National Park This is a campground in a super location that needed a bit more thought. It is essentially small loop roads that you park on the side of the road where it is “slightly” wider. When two RV’s are across from each other it is tight. Because of the rain, some sites were under water. Rest rooms were old but well kept. A few sites have electric, no water at any site. Each site had a nice picnic table with a bit of shelter. We paid about $13 a night, certainly worth the price and really nice to be in the park for early morning and late evening easy access. They take reservations but otherwise first come first serve.

  11. UPDATE 4/15/2019 The Andersen Hitch company has once again designed a new inner cone for the ball housing. This new cone is supposed to resolve the grinding/binding issue that has been occurring for some owners. The new design does require that the ball assembly be shipped to Andersen for installation of the new cone as well as the new collar on top that was designed to keep the cone in place. Any customer with questions regarding this new design or how they can get their current Andersen Ball assembly modified should contact Andersen Hitch at 800-635-6106.
