  1. I’m way overdue introducing myself, but I guess it’s better late than never, as I joined the forum a few years ago. I have been researching and thinking about RVs off and on ever since. I finally came to the conclusion that an Oliver Elite II was the best choice for me so I put down my deposit last month. Much to my pleasant surprise, Anita gave me some early build dates so my pick up date is early February. I thought I might have to wait until late spring or early summer. 😁 I’ve done tons of tent camping ( go figure..I’m an Army retiree) and pop up trailer camping (mostly during my 14+ year Army tours in Germany), but I think now at the ripe old age of 68 I’m ready for a little less roughing it. I’ve seen enough of Europe, now it’s time to explore my own country. I wish my wife, Kitty, could join me but she passed away recently due to a long illness, so I’ll be going it alone now. This forum is such a valuable resource! My hat’s off to all the contributors. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the time and effort that goes into sharing your expertise. David

  2. There are actually three threads on the same topic, if you count the more generic one on Oliver’s Lithium Pro package. I agree that it’s confusing. If @LiFeBlueBattery and none of the other moderators object, I can at least merge the two vendor threads. Or it might be better to just lock one of them since merging would intertwine different conversations.

  3. OK, I'm going to lock this one since it's the shortest and I think that the other location makes more sense. Please continue discussion in the thread below.

  4. Greetings! New member, here. Future owner just about to pull the trigger. Hubby and I are hardly new to the camper world, having owned a pop-up, a Forest River Roo, and most recently a completely over-the-top upfitted sprinter. We've learned that our style of camping (boondocking and mountain biking/gravel riding) is more suited to a TT/TV combo, and have settled on the Oliver as Camper 4.0. Haven't placed our order quite yet, but hope to in the next month or so. I'm here to learn! Now, off to search topics about off-road use (nothing crazy, but we like to take advantage of abundant fire roads and dispersed camping here in the West), tow vehicles, floorplan details, etc... 6. Do a search of the forum - plenty of answers to your question. The threads on Timken are interesting. RB\

  7. Welp, we did the tour yesterday and came away very impressed. A little disappointed Phil wasn’t wearing his signature flannel but otherwise we loved everything we saw. It’s an impressive operation and my wife was so happy that there was zero sales pressure. After never seeing an Ollie in the flesh it was odd to see one behind us as we neared Hohenwald and then all over the place in various states of completion. I’ve obsessed over this stuff to the degree that the factory tour was almost redundant, but it was great to actually see and touch everything. The quality is evident and we really want something that will last. The best part was laying in the twin bed and realizing I fit. I’ve been a little depressed about old-man shrinking to 6’4” but it finally paid off. I laid in the bed and then got up and drove 11 hours home. We drove past a million RV dealers and it would’ve been quicker (and cheaper, and closer, and easier on my butt) to pick one off a lot and drive off. But watching it slowly fall apart in my driveway would be depressing. We’re 95% sure we’ll move forward with an Ollie, but at this point deliveries won’t happen until late summer/fall of next year and we don’t want to have it sit here all winter without being able to use it. (It would also be nice to let this red-hot used car market cool down. We still need to buy a tow vehicle and...yeesh.) Does anyone know if we can put down a deposit and then pick a delivery date 15 months out? I guess we could just wait but I’m worried about more price hikes. They are going gangbusters down there in Hohenwald. Thanks all!

  8. They have a very popular YouTube channel. Do a search and you’ll find them.

  9. I have a 2020 GMC HD which is the same as far as components here are concerned - no issues with the Oliver directly connected (ie no adapters) - so either your truck has an issue or your connectors do.

  10. The odds of finding an Oliver, in good shape, is great. It is the odds of finding a used one at all is what is slim. And if you find a used one at all you better be prepared to respond and act immediately. The word is out about the quality of the Oliver, and the wait time for a new one. Do not expect a used one to be a super bargain. They seem to hold their value well, and maybe even appreciate.
