Anyone else drive the Tail of the Dragon? Would not recommend anybody try it with the camper attached. Off the Smokies. Your side of the road might be taken up by racing motorcycles. Designated as US 129, it is by the Tenn/NC state line. 318 curves in 11 miles. Make sure you have good brakes...

2021 Western Central US Rally: Please give your input ! :)
Mainiac replied to Lexi_Griffin's topic in Events & Rallies
There has been some, low key, talk about a New England Rally. Not once have I heard about anyone wanting a dining venue. A spot to gather and socialize , out of the rain, would be nice. Maybe a pot luck or a breakfast. No need for golf. But a great place to visit, like Acadia National Park within an hour drive? Someone to do a 'Clam Bake' with hot boiled lobster might be nice near by. Trouble is, in this part of the world most campgrounds are not that big. With the pent up demand to travel here, and some interstate travel restrictions, how many sites would be needed? Throw it open to all fiberglass campers might overwhelm a small place? Cabins for want to be owners? Questions? Questions? Questions??? -
High enough you might not see in the rear view mirror. Would look great to those walking (running) by...?

Like the outlet there. Should be easy to add. Will have to look at another "maybe add" in early Spring. Would be easier to plug in while sitting at the dinette than somewhere between your legs where the outlet is hidden by the table. On second thought maybe we better look at the overhead. Maybe between the cabinets? So no cord to trip over?

Question: how long has there been an outlet there? Or did you add? Here in Maine, in the Winter, our RH is quite low. Our question is how often do you have to empty the container? Would the contents have a chance to freeze? Is there a way to drain into a different container. Thinking a bucket filled with nontoxic antifreeze?

If there is info, that I should know, on MeWe please let me know. Do not think I will be checking the weewee.

Those eyes almost look like Betty Boop?
-
Wouldn't that look good coming at you at 70 mph? Or with just a soft light in a remote campsite?
-
Ya..the mustache might work. Maybe big red ruby lips?
-
Wonder what a pair of large Gogglie Eyes would look like on the front of an Ollie? Maybe one of those curved bubble levels below it? Now what for a nose, a round red ball? Oh what possibilities...

This storm coming in...what time? What's it's ETA?

Not sure about adding later, but would think so. Just not sure how sink cut outs were/are handled. Also not sure how factory attaches? Screws? Adhesive? Above based on looking at bathroom counter. With the moulded white there is a built in white sink. The fiber top has a SS sink. The way most SS sinks are attached is with fittings that attach underneath and draw the sink down. To do that I would think the moulded counter with the sink would have to be cut out. That would mean the fiber granite removal would be a major task to return to white, if one her wanted...

If you get down and look close you can see a few slight scratches on our counter. We have a few bamboo trivets that we place around on the counter, most of the time. You wash dishes, slide a pot, make coffee, cook bacon, chop veggies, and enjoy life. After four years, to me, it looks great. Shiny, wipes easy and clean. And you really have to get down close to see any scratches. To us the Fiber Granite was just an extra layer, same material, more maintaince, different color, and cost more. Could not see a benefit to us. After four years and it still appear s to be holding true, at least for us...

Know the "stockpiling".. Think the only things we have added to the mix since is a 'Bandit' and a collapsible jug from Reny's. Think we will add another collapsible jug too. Maybe that SS pail I use sometimes needs a dedicated one for the Oliver? The downsize struggle continues. Oh ya, an extension handle for a package of Jiffy Pop. Works great around a campfire... Maybe I should get ............a .........

Display Name Changes
Mainiac replied to JWalmsley's topic in Welcome To The Oliver Travel Trailer Forums
Hmm.? Wonder what I should change my name to? If they change their name, will their old content remain under their old name? Or follow them so we know who is producing what? -
Did you possibly pack a torque wrench? I found a 1/2" at Harbor Freight for $19. It came in a case and it lives in the Oliver. I also printed off and laminated the torque spec chart. Guess I should double check the sockets to be sure the right ones are on board. Things to check in the first 50-100 miles might be wheel lugs, spring shackles, etc.? 72 today. 48 by Saturday. Pack sandals and boots and a rain coat.

We are frequent visitors there, as well as Maine-ly Sewing. Sometimes I take back roads to get away from some of the shops, only to find others. Nice to see Whitefield coming back to life out there. How many times have you loaded and the truck? How many days?

Sandi has won awards for her quilts. It can occupy a lot of ones time, if you let it...

As we were driving by I convinced her that Hancock was a lumber yard. (Name of a local yard). Saved me from hauling loads of fabric back to Maine...

Starting to plan a late winter/early spring trip. Have been asked to include time to visit great Quilt Shops. And as we travel we might as well take in some Barn Quilt Trails. We have been to the Paducah Quilt Museum, and touched the hand carved wooden quilt. Anyone know of shops and trails we shouldn't miss?

Trailer disconnect message due to low voltage F-150
Mainiac replied to Bobfirst's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Ford has a Service bulletin in regards to this. Depends on year and model. Think they reprogram computer to electric over hydraulic. Service bulletin number was listed on here somewhere... -
74 degrees.. Indian summer? Is there really any such thing? And we have had two snow storms already. Yesterday we sat at the Cribstone Bridge on Bailey's Island eating lunch on the deck of Cook's Lobster and Ale house. Then to Land's End and walked the rocky trail to the Giant Staircase. The surf was crashing. Then a root beer float at Island Candy. It got dark by 4:30. Guess we better find our mittens and snow shovels. Afraid Mother Nature is just teasing us...
