  1. Interesting observation..Canoe 12 was something that popped into the head when this site said I needed a User Name. I have tried to change it, but have been unsuccessful. What we are going to do is have our State of Maine outline with the State Seal superimposed on it made local. We will put it on the front and a smaller one put on the rear. We do like the Texas graphic so much better than the factory one...
  2. We have tent camped with the family growing up. We have had the 29' fifth wheel and rebuilt and upgraded a Scamp and toured the southern states in our off season. We have had lobster boats and camped in a 23' sailboat along the Maine coast. We got a 27' class A and toured the Mississippi River and Natchez Trace. We have done the Smokey Mountain National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway using motel rooms to stay in. After living a little more than 13 years, year around, in a seasonal campground in the western mountains of Maine, we decided to retire. Summing up what we liked and wanted to do, we decided to put a small boat on a mooring and get a smaller fiberglass egg type trailer. (We found nothing worse than having to break camp, just to go get a loaf of bread with the class A). The Oliver will give us more room than the Scamp, easy towing, solar with WiFi to stay in touch, and great resale value if it ever gets old. Maybe we will be on the road again come May...
  3. We went back and saw Anita, and ended up with a Jan 15 build date.
  4. Was in the factory last week. If yours will be ready in 3 days we must have seen it. It was looking good and resting comfortably, as it was lunch time. It is the big white one right?
  5. Thank you. You answered our questions and gave us some more ideas. Think we will have the factory leave the graphics off. Our supplier 'Banana Banners' even does fire trucks near and wide, and you know how picky those guys are. She ships world wide. I like that your star also looks like a compass rose, always showing you the true course, and the way home, wherever home may be tonight...
  6. Is the graphic something you made or did the factory? Is it something they were going to do? How much space do you have to work with on the front? Love your front design. It would be easy to identify if we passed you on the highways. We have a design in mind and a super shop in the neighborhood that makes them. We could bring to the pickup. Thank you..
  7. Did you have to relocate the cable, and if so, how did you hide the old hole? A plug like you might use to hide an unused hole in a kitchen sink?
  8. Tractor Supply and Home Depot have small pieces of metal...
  9. Pictured in a recent delivery I saw a wooden dinette table. It is the only one I have seen. It looks so much more durable, and better looking than the plain fiberglass. Also easier for a layman to refinish wear and possible burns from hot pans? How does one go about getting?
  10. The talk of weep holes leaking is a concern. How much of a problemn is it? Are the new units equipped with the same window units as the 08s? Are the gutters something the factory should make standard?
  11. Some great ideas. Maybe Oliver would contact their suppliers who might come forward with some clinics, door prizes, and silent auction items. Insurance companies like Bordens love to set up booths and contribute$$$$. All this would need firm support from Oliver. And of course as for before and after publicity there are always magazines and web sites that love to be asked...
  12. I am impressed that the stand got painted. Great place to store the gun too...
  13. Thanks for the replies. I have used the 'Legos' under tires before, but I guess for safety I will use two 6X6 blocks sideways under the levelers. But doesn't mean I can't make them pretty.
  14. Also putting refrigerator on propane while running ac helps..
  15. I have a question? Why the need for big blocks? Is it that the Ollie revelers don't extend far enough? Shouldn't a reinforced pad be enough?
  16. I have seen anodes last for years and years, it usually depends on the water in the heater..
  17. I have always put clear water in my tank, about half full, on my way home on the last trip of the year. The water splashing around seems to rinse it very well. Also during use we use Eco-Save as a tank chemical. It is antibacterial and actually feeds on waste. They don't recommend you put it into the tank until you have waste. It can freeze and still works next season. If no blue waste carrier, you can always empty tank into a 5 gallon bucket and empty into the toilet at home...
  18. Randy, thank you! Randy gave us the grand tour of his unit two days ago. He had us in every nook, closet, and hidden spots. You can feel the pride he takes in his unit, and the best part? His previous non-camper wife loves it. If you have a chance to meet up, it is recommended. We think he made up our mind on what we will order, and how we will equip...
