  1. Think a smaller unit would be more efficient, more quiet (important), and more than enough to cool an Oliver. A unit running longer and slower will remove more moisture, as it cools. Being cool, and with lower moisture, it should also be longer between operating cycles.
  2. Consider two things: backing up and review camera.. To back up, put your hand on the bottom of the wheel. The direction that the hand moves the wheel is the direction the trailer moves. Small and slow hand moves the trailer quite a bit. Practice, practice, practice. The review camera: you can see who is behind you. You can see who is behind you as you are backing up, or if anybody or thing is behind before backing up. You also can see how close somebody might be tailgating you, or if the police car has his/her lights on. It is so nice to be able to see when it is safe to pull back in, after passing someone. Worth more than it's weight.
  3. That went quick. At least here. Thanksgiving on the road. A frozen turkey dinner, and a can of cranberry sauce, only trouble...no left overs. Stay safe and enjoy...
  4. A bike rack on the front of the vehicle makes sense too.
  5. True . . But maybe that was my mistake, or it was a mistake that I found it?
  6. But the "mistake" I made was how I found I was wrong...!
  7. By asking questions I usually learn something new everyday. It usually is what I learned yesterday was wrong...
  8. Wrap or drape on the tongue. Done. Nothing fancy needed, no long thought process. Plug into holder. Once plugged in it isn't going anywhere. If it was the right size before, and not 'messed with', it should plug into tow vehicle. Adios!
  9. This is exactly how we will install ours...
  10. Guess it is just a foreign concept to me, to lock my self inside a boom box. But then we spend most of our time outside listening to the wind and Mother Nature anyway. Also doubt any better speakers would make our occasional old John Wayne movies sound any better anyway. That all being said I can't imagine it would be that difficult to mount 'quality' surface mount or boxed speakers pointing in any direction. Would think the smooth fiberglass would bounce the acoustics in all directions.
  11. Just curious. Why consider an upgrade?
  12. Solar..keeps batteries up while stored..ready to go. Can watch tv to get local weather, so know how to prepare for tomorrow. 4_batteries keep the blower on the furnace running all night and day. Powers the microwave so no heat build that rainy humid day. 30 lb propane tanks keeps us warm all night, all week, all month. The world existed for years without internet or phone service. It is an option, unless you have adult children that worry about what the 'old fools' are up to now...
  13. Think it would introduce a "gully washer" in a downpour. At least it is not over the bed. (shhh...maybe this is why it is for sale??)
  14. Bought one. Came in today. Snow and sleet squalls today, so maybe another day to install. Hate wading through deep snow to knock the snow out of the plug and turn off the "ghost" lights.
  15. No, don't recall. Pretty basic adjustable one. Discussed on here in detail, if you search. We did make the aluminum brackets, also shown on here. Those little brackets are what adds stability to the door and stops screwing into the light weight frame part of the door.
  16. Probably the most useful addition we have made is the screen door 'assist' handle. Adds stability to the door, and certainly is easier to open and close the door.
  17. We found a magnetic whiteboard calendar quite helpful. It is held on the closet door by Command stripes. Being on the closet door you see it every time you go in or out. Think we got it at a CVS for about $7. We can list check in/ check out dates and times, and local appointments. Also we can , with magnets', attach any paperwork the check in provided. That paper work will give us any local phone numbers we might need, ie; medical, owner, ranger, depending on park, and sites or places we might want to visit.
  18. Also it is "Johnny left 'Port'" Left is Port. But also port wine is red. Hence, leaving port, the red bouys are on your left. Then of course, "Red right returning".
  19. Probably easier to stamp in a collar than "National Monument" too...
  20. I think moving air is cooling air, so the bigger tube should allow a larger air flow. Would think the smaller tube would increase the velocity and hence cool quicker? The turbulence in the standard helps heat the pipe and hence the plumbing pipes that reside next to it. Getting the air there efficiently is important, but so is providing a path of air back to the return of the furnace. Think the system might be improved if the first vent is closed. That way it's air is not circulated back to the return and pushed further down the system...
  21. A piece of expanded metal from Home Depot ($15). Cut to size. A piece of plastic edging designed for plastic bathroom panels ($2). Four short self tapping screws into pre drilled holes in the door. We did put beveled trim washers under the screw heads to expand the gripping area. Done. The local RV dealer had screen door guards for high $80. In the Spring, with the guard approaching four years old, I probably will remove. It will then be primed and painted and reinstalled. It has developed a few small spots of surface rust. A little steel wool would remove, but how much fun would that be.
  22. If at 2:00 AM that water was to freeze, you would go from level to full standing saying, " what the heck was that?" Or something close...
  23. Does it work on LP?
  24. We do like to stop someplace, every once in a while, and download some e-mail., maybe. The view is better out the window, than down at the phone?
  25. (Moon Pies are available, in tins, at Tractor Supply and Cracker Barrel),(so we heard). We use Fluff and Moxie to trade with ex-Patriots...
