  1. I think this should happen. Also, if possible and if different a picture of the front graphic and stripe colors...
  2. Newsletter #3 showed up, for those that need to request...
  3. Maybe everyone ought to be looking for a surplus military landing craft? Usually well maintained. Then you could back your Oliver on to it, and then enjoy the best of both worlds. We still love our 25' Stieger. Easy to tow, easy to launch and recover, and the 60 gallon tank takes us wherever we want to go. Windshield wipers to keep the salt spray off on a chilly day. Opening front windows to put a breeze across the cockpit on a wine and cheese cruise. Nothing better than sitting in a slight swell, off a lighthouse, and catching a 30" stripper on 6lb. test line. (Well maybe sitting in the north woods around a campfire, listening to a pair of owls talking to each other)...
  4. A sidebar: (boy, that is a throwback term), we had a dry erase board that was looking pretty nasty. Nothing really cleaned it well. Always a little dingy around the edges. A friend said just spray some WD 40 on it. We did, wiped it off with a micro cloth and the board looks brand new. And everybody with a camper carries around some WD40...
  5. The rough surface of the inside of the pantry door____ it wasn't a problem mounting a Command Strip to it? Did you have to 'prep' the surface?
  6. That means I would have to get a new phone probably, or maybe a pill of some kind so I would remember to. Some habits die hard; "I wonder what this piece of paper is for? Oh ya, marshmallows and coffee". Check... Thanks for being a 911 dispatcher. Our unsung heroes. A lot of times our only lifeline out in the field...
  7. I have 2 small 5 x 8 boards. One has a magnet that we put on the microwave. Vibrant colors. It falls off all the time. Bet it would hang on the closet door with a Command Hook. If it was a combo cork and whiteboard you could also clip or pin the campground paperwork to one side. The other is on the pantry for a shopping list. Probably will change out for a small clipboard with one of those small legal pads, so we don't have to recopy..
  8. I just noticed a new Tech Bulletin about the $100 repair (upgrade) for the Anderson hitch. Almost like Mission Impossible, we disavow any knowledge or responsibility for any events, and etc....
  9. We have always blown out water lines. As a matter of fact, we blow them out twice. We wait 10 or more minutes to let any bubbles or droplets roll to a low point and blow again. We don't want to dilute any antifreeze we put in in the next step. With the second blow there is a lot less resistance in the line, so you can move any remaining material. Always amazed on how much the second blow removes. We used to do between 40 and 50 winterizations each winter at a campground we were at and never had a frozen or broken line in the Spring. The 10 or 20 minutes it takes is a lot less time than it takes to replace a water line...
  10. Was looking at the picture. Interesting. The unit in the middle, the one with the Red and black graphics and satellite dish. It seemed to me to have some modifications that I haven't seen discussed. What are the four round objects between the 'porch' lights? Exterior speakers maybe? The water heater seems to be moved with no visible furnace. There appears to be a 'basement' access hatch on the curb side, and the lower refrigerator vent seems to be in a hatch that might allow access to that space. Did I miss something? If I have a showing, should I be aware of some new features or options? Surely if you have something new going on, you let our "salesforce" know about it?
  11. If I find some, are they directional? Meaning a left or right? Or are they the same? Just flipped 180? Are they designed for travel or stationary use? Thanks...
  12. ShallowGal: Great pictures, Thank You. I am always amazed at the choices of custom graphics and names. [Like Beluga..the great white whale]. Maybe we ought to start a 'yearbook' of owners, so we know which graphic belongs to who, with their 'school colors'. Then we can tell who we just passed going the other way. Question: in your photo #15 (I think) , there is a vent(?) on the window. Is that now standard, and/or an option? This allows the window to be open in the rain? Or maybe going down the road? Alabama is pretty in places, but didn't think it was supposed to be in the 20s. Had a nephew call from Zephrhills saying his water pump froze and what should he do. I had to laugh a little, it was one degree warmer here than there. We found an interesting place in Florida to camp. Oleano State Park. A 6000 acre town that was abandoned when Flagler took the his train to Miami and started selling beach front swamp land...
  13. Just throwing it out there, but everybody knows that 20 + 30 lb. propane bottles fit snugly into a 'milk' crate? We use the milk crate when we transport tanks to be filled. Keeps them from rolling around in the truck. Also a couple of bungees keep the crate from sliding around. The crate gives the bungee something easy to hook to. I guess a bonus, we never thought about, it keeps the tank upright. Two other customers, also waiting to get tanks filled, said what a great idea to use the crate. I thought everyone knew about them...
  14. When we picked up #211, we were told the wheel/tires arrived at the factory on a pallet. We were concerned about the tires as the tires are truck tires, not ST rated (trailer Service), tires. They were told the engineers had figured out the E rated tires were more than adequate. We do know they sure ride smooth, and that they match what is on my truck is a bonus. We were told the wheels have a valve put in, tires mounted, filled with nitrogen, and balanced. They then put a certain amount on a pallet and ship to the factory. We were, at the time, more concerned about the spare they had been using. They were putting a previous used tire (different brand and size) on as a spare to use up their inventory. Ours had the new same rim, tire, and new bigger spare tire cover as we had been discussing before pick up. We moved on to other issues, like a wrong color awning...
  15. When New Orleans was one degree colder this morning than Orr's Island, in Casco Bay, Maine this morning I had mixed feelings. One was those poor people, the other was better them than us. Then the guilt kicked in, at least we are equipped to deal with it. Then it started to snow, but we only expect six to eight inches. Think Spring...
  16. We put some ice cubes into the toilet, and some down the drain with a little water, on the way home. As you travel it "splashes" around and cleans any residue. When you are home (or your next stop) you can empty mostly water into a bucket and pour into the home toilet. We also use Eco-Save which is an enzyme material (scented) and only put in the tank when waste is present in the tank. Not available everywhere...
  17. Hi, Welcome, Question? What is your purpose for the extension cord for the curb side outlet? To power the trailer you use the 25' power cord that comes with the unit. What I would pick up is both a 30-15, 15-30 adapter. This would allow you to plug into a conventional outlet or to use your extension cord to extend your reach (also you might not have a 30 amp plug at home). Harbor Freight (even Wally W) has them. I also carry a 30 amp extension cord but I just happened to have one. Older campgrounds seem to have the pedestals in some out of the way places. Not sure what end of a heated hose plugs into an outlet, at the pedestal end or the trailer end, or the amperage they require. Our unit did not come with the socket for the anode. I also find it easier to also have a 6" extension for the socket. We had a breaker bar come with the unit for the lugs nut that would work, but we carry a set of sockets and a ratchet. I don't know why and have never used, yet. The short hose was not included. But why not get a good hose to sacrifice? And then buy a good brass hose repair end to put the hose back to better than new. And then you have the extra length you might need to reach that out of the way pedestal. Are you hauling home in one day? Even winterized you can still use the furnace and refrigerator. Also, with extra RV antifreeze to flush with, you could use the toilet. Good Luck and safe travels. See you around a campfire sometime...
  18. I just rec'd notification that Jason had responded to a note. Went in and there it was...
  19. I check my water level in our batteries on a regular basis. We have been doing it for years, and it is no big deal. A regular 12V group 27 deep cycle battery is usually considered good for 30 months. With some normal care you could expect at least twice that. We have batteries in our boats, the camper, dump trailer, motorcycle, utility vehicles. As long as you keep them clean, watered, and charged you should have no problems. Bet we don't spend over an hour or so dealing with all of them. Time well spent. The camper comes with the same basic batteries that are in electric golf carts, and look how many of those there are and how long they last. Don't let the naysayers scare you, you can always upgrade later at the end of their lifecycle...
  20. Topgun2: indeed it is a Dutch oven, but it is placed in a preheated regular oven. Just saying. Love the recipe, will try to adapt to the equipment we have on hand. If it doesn't work out I guess we can stick to lobsters and steamed clams. Temps this morning started out at -14 and has 'soared' to + 2. Love reading about nooks and crannies around this great country that would be fun to visit, especially if they are in some place a little warmer. After all that is why we have the Oliver...
  21. Interesting monthly newsletter and update. A great recipe, except it is designed for cooking in an oven!? Maybe a little disconnect here, as if you haven't noticed, the Oliver does not have an oven? Interesting ingredients too. Guess we will have to expand our pantry to get the latest...
  22. It is a late 2016, and was backed in uphill. I would never park on a sidewall, especially with a plow on. My guess it is all pick up tube related, but will follow through. For the moment it is level and the tank is full. Think Spring...
  23. We were down to a third tank because we had done two back to back storms. The last one was officially a blizzard. As we had family coming for the holidays we backed it out of the way. Figured we would go to town to fill up when traffic was lower as we still have the 8 1/2' blade on the front. Temp this morning was -5 well after dawn, and has gone to + 6 by noon. We are looking forward to next week when we might get all the way up to 20. Maybe time to plow out the Oliver, take off the blade, and hook up?
