Ok, I think I might have been given a generator plug at pickup. I threw it in with my other adapter plugs. I think they all look alike. How do I tell the difference? Something to do with the ground or something? If I find it, I will paint it red...

I should have greased the Easy Flex when I hooked up the first of March, but there was a Noreaster heading my way. There also was two feet of cold wet snow all around me. The prevailing thoughts were that I am getting too old to be crawling around in a snowbank trying to add cold grease, I'll wait until I can see swaying palm trees. I think the bigger gun, with the longer handle, gives one more leverage to pump the grease. And also changing the tube while under the unit is just another annoying task one has to do. What to do with the old tube, how to keep dirt off the new tube, I'll stick with the big unit. It doesn't take up that much room, and will fit in the basement. While under there I looked at everything, and there certainly was evidence that the OTT factory had greased everything before delivery. I had downloaded the installation sheet for the EZ Flex while doing the research on the trailer and it does not mention "red grease", just a lithium complex grease NLGI #2.

A grease gun, yup, the big one. And a tube of the proper grease (or two). The Easy Flex axle and 8 fittings per side are recommended to be greased every 3000 miles. The first time I did it, it took a full 14oz tube, plus a little more. The whole thing fits in a couple of plastic grocery bags, which then fits in a cloth bag like they give you at trade shows to carry your brochures in...

Just came through Melbourne, Palm Bay. Was chilly in the morning outside, but real comfortable inside...

Going to see if these are still available. Seems we accidentally shut off the fridge twice on our latest 5500 mile trip. Luckily we found out before any damage was done. Next time we might not have been so lucky...

We have been using a Camp Chef stove/oven. It is great from making biscuits, baking a cake, to heating water for tea. We currently are using the little green bottles, but the Oliver has a stub in the end of the gas line to add a quick connect. We have most of the supplies to do the hook up, but have not yet found the ambition. We have "bailed" out of New England after the first NorEaster, have been sitting around listening to the 'natives' tell me how cold it is here in the Everglades, while watching 3 more storms take aim at home. At least the ground was warm enough to crawl under and grease the 16 zerk fittings. We do keep the fancy chrome stove near the tailgate of the tow vehicle.

We have a similar rack, and have had good results. We have found that with the blades down the steak knives will come loose on real rough roads. With the handle down they seem to stay put. Maybe the momentum of the heavier handle? The rest of the utensils seem to stay just fine. If we know we will be rough roads they may end up in a drawer...

Are the small(3oz.) grease guns 'hand packable'? If so, cover your hands in Dawn, grab a large tube, open the cover, with a hammer handle or other specialized tool, push enough grease out to fill the gun. Fill the gun. Wash hands. Pores and hands are clean. Job done...

Where do you jack up a Oliver?
Mainiac replied to KountryKamper's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
If Oliver provides a lug wrench and a spare tire they must have thought the on board jacks were adequate. Surely they would provide (no cost retroactively) a special tire ramp if it is/was now actually required. But jacks to raise a vehicle have been included at the sale with it since before the Model A, so it is almost considered a standard item. The same Jason, mentioned above, described the JACKS and their use during our orientation. As Anita told me once, if they ignore a problem long enough it seems to go away. As Raspy mentioned, Common sense must prevail..- 69 replies

First question I have, was the camper subject to freezing weather? If winterized, was antifreeze used?

Maybe Best Buy?

Tractor Supply had that Lucas "red grease" right on hand, but like elsewhere, the big tube...

Nothing I did...but that smiley face got awful big. Is that going to happen again?

How do we get rid of the blue unread box..? Found out. Logout. When logging back in it is gone. Now to get it to logout...

I think an important reminder from Rideandfly is to wipe off excess grease. It traps dust, dirt, and possibly moisture. We like to wipe off the excessive squeeze out from the joints, as well as the zerk fittings...

After two back to back 12" snow storms we did use the plastic roof rake on one side. It was going to be close to -20 for two weeks so we wanted the batteries to keep getting a little charge. After that we haven't touched it. It seems to shed the snow on its own. We checked it a couple of times and it was maintaining a charge through the ice and snow. I do want to get it out of the field before "mud season" starts..

My easyflex is due for a grease job. I figured it would be a part of my Spring wake up call. But, we have planned an early "breakout". However, I think I am getting too old to be crawling around in a wet cold snowbank with a grease gun. Besides I just don't want to. So we just listed in our preflight list a grease gun and two cartridges. They are hanging in the garage in a couple of plastic bags. (That should keep the mess out of the trailer basement). We will wait until we find a spot closer to swaying palm trees and no fire ants to crawl under. It shouldn't take too long. Wonder if I can use the picnic tablecloth to lay on? You are right, I better take a small tarp. Does everybody jack up the side they are greasing to take the load (pressure) off and allow more room for the grease? Think Spring

Hull # 319.. WOW... We picked up #211 in April of last year. That means OTT is on track to produce over 100 units this year. With their growing pain challenges obviously mostly overcome, it is nice to see them still producing a quality product and on time. With the weatherman saying it might soar to near 50+ next week, the thoughts of wander lust have kicked in. We took the tractor down and cut a road through 2' of snow. Towards the end of the month we will hook on and point the windshield in a southerly heading. Surely that will give me time to take the snowplow off and load the truck. A warm pretzel and noodles sounds like a plan, to start. A drive across the old 'Conowingo Dam' at the head of the Chesapeake Bay might be fun. Then maybe St. George street in St.Augustine and on to Oleano State Park at some point. Nowhere will the plans involve an Interstate. Surely there is a waterfall, an old gristmill, or roadside diner I haven't seen before. The whole time keeping an eye out for that usual early spring blizzard. Wonder if we will make it home before Memorial Day?

Bla bla a bla... did a visual check, and edit button is back. Thank you. My keyboard still covers my response unless I turn my Fire sideways

Responded but it disappeared. Home made for about $25. Thought that was better than the $90 that a dealer wanted.

We have camped with friends that have SOB (some other brand) trailers. With an 'artic' breeze coming off the lake, and a cold raining starting, we all gathered in the Oliver. Normally we keep it made up as a bed, but it only takes a few minutes to make the table setup. 6 of us dined quite comfortably and no one seemed eager to leave. The Oliver had more space around the table and just seemed the right place to be. Happened a few times over those three days. Just glad we had the table legs with us. Think we will order some clips. Maybe mount under the center of the table?

There is no edit function. When responding with a Fire, we can't see what we are typing unless we turn the pad. The keyboard covers the response. Hence the need for the edit. The banner with the drip down menu could move up to open the ' window?...

Was in CVS pharmacy(?) store and found a rolled up tube of white board. It is 17 1/2" X 23 1/2". It is self adhesive. I would be afraid of writing off the edge, but should be able to turn sideways to go to the edge of the cabinet door. It was $9.99 a sheet. Two other interesting items they had was white board duct tape. Not sure where I might be tempted to use that. They also had it in black..a caulk board if you will. We settled on a stick on whiteboard calendar, that was magnetic. Staples has white board wrapping paper for $3.99 that you can stick on with scotch tape?

I passed the test. I am here where I am at...
