  1. Had NO strange odors of ANY kind!! Was spotlessly clean and polished!!! Chuck
  2. JJ n Sandie, We like our TV, so the satellite was a for sure, dualpane windows and window treatment a must must haves. Entertainment center and electric jacks with 4" lift and 15" tires, ditto. My thinking was that anything left OFF, would decrease resale more than it would cost. Bought a used Casita without an awning and it was a huge bargaining chip when we negotiated $$$. But a Cadillac without power windows?? I don't think so! JMHO, Chuck
  3. Mountainborn!!!! Good news! The single panes can be retrofitted to dual pane per Daniel at the factory!!!! We love ours as I have camped a few times at 20 degrees!!! Chuck
  4. There is NO CAMO on you!!!!!! Are you changing styles on us now that retirement is looming??? Great ideas, what are you using to check fuel $$? Slowing down with Geri is NOT an option...it is mandatory!!!! Your posting on this trip have been great!!!! Thanks! Chuck
  5. Cherie n Chris!! I tried to be serious and give you an informative reply, but those "other" folks just couldn't so I'll have to try.....yeah right!!!!!!!!!!!! Mountainborn went deaf from tryin' to listen for the C-133s abringin' his parts in!! But us poor loadmasters abringin' his parts in went deaf from those turboprop engines! Geri is deaf in one ear and can't hear outta the other so we just crank it up over the Air Conditioner and love it!!! It sounds like surround sound to US!!!!!! FYI: the jet went in the curbside window n out the other!!!!!!! Chuck
  6. You two are having WAY TOO MUCH FUN!!!! Stayed in Elk City (KOA?) a couple-3 years ago and was told about the museum and filed it away for future stop and I remembered only the Elk City part... I knew when I left ya'll at Lake Gleeson that I wanted to stop there for sumthin'...... Well, Geri wants to go that away too, so we'll get to see it!!! Where did you stay? Are you going to the river Valley Egg Rally in Van Buren Sept 10-14???? We are and hope to see you there!!! Chuck
  7. Hi Chris n Cherie, We are not audio/videophiles, so for us, the system is great. Compared to what is available from other small RV mfgs, the system is pretty advanced! The great thing about Oliver is that they are so willing to upgrade any system that feasibly can be improved. The exterior a/v system is unique in the under $100,000 rigs I believe!! Everybody that has seen our Oliver has complimented the int and ext A/V system. We cannot wait to see your system!!! It sounds fantastic and may set future precedents for what can be done in small RVs !!!!!! The solar portion also will be of interest to all!!! Thanks for your posts, they have been VERY informative and easily read! Chuck n Geri
  8. Hi Beeser! I'm not too sure how 4th season you want to go(as in winter) I've camped in the 20's n teens(not by choice) by disconnecting from city water and keeping the seat off and box removed from fwd seat to allow heat into tank area. This was because the cold snap was very unexpected in the panhandle area of FL but I don't think I needed to go to that extreme. I would not take mine to any area that had SNOW as I was raised in WI, NY and TX and have had my fill of it!!! Prefer sunny, Jimmy Buffett type climates in my retirement years!!! Regards, Chuck
  9. Great pictures!!! Looks like you're practicing very hard at retiring And may I say that it appears you are doing an admirable job.!!!! Chuck n Geri!
  10. Congratulations!!! Beautiful graphics!!! Nice floor plan! I saw a similiar one in Quartzsite,AZ WAAYYY back in Jan when I saw my 1st Olivers. But the twin I saw had a permenant bed where your 2 seat dinette is. Like yours a lot better, more versatility! Your material choice is very nice and makes the floorplan look more open! Hope to see you on the road soon, Chuck
  11. With your Oliver painted khaki and camo, you'd have the first ever STEALTH Oliver!! But mountainborn is probably slapping his forehead, saying "Why didn't we think of that, Butcherknife?" !!!!!!!!!! Chuck n Geri n Midget, Bobbie n Scotty in the 'Dog House'!
  12. Hi Beeser, Go for the 5.3 in the Chevy. I think one reason my mileage may be a little better is we have a cab height fiberglass shell and this adds better aerodynamics vs the open bed. I posted this before, but Geris 6 cyl Chevy TrailBlazer XT tows the Oliver and her Casita very well with a slightly better ride. 18 mpg without trailer 15-16 with trailer and very acceptable towing power. It has (and any TV you look at should have ) FACTORY towing package. Has good room and it may become our TV vs the Chevy. Chuck
  13. Started tent camping as a kid, Dad was avid hunter, and saw a lot of WI,MN and MI. My 1st was a Contempo converted VW van, 2nd was a Westfalia VW.Saw a LOT of No Cal and Nevada. Long time with out then a 2 Casitas and now my Oliver, The last 3 with a combined 50-60 thousand miles. Have used friends MHs and larger TTs and even a fiver but nothing been better than the little eggs!! No matter the brand, I think they're the only way to GO! JMHO! Chuck
  14. Can't speak for a Tacoma but my 2002 Chevy 1500 2wd 4.8 V8 with a shell uses 1-2 mpg more towing my Oliver. I'm very happy with that! JMHO Chuck
  15. The most important piece of info was " factory installed tow package" This builds parts INTO the TV that really can't be ADDED later, internal transmission cooler, bigger radiator, etc. JMHO Chuck
  16. If you keep camping enough, you won't need a cover!!!!!!!! Chuck
  17. Congratulations on what I think is a wise decision! Robert will walk you through the process painlessly and FOLLOW through on all your questions/ideas. Chuck
  18. Welcome UGUJOE!! Don't hesitate to ask any questions. We don't ridicule, harass or make fun of folks, but sometimes postings seem to take on a life of their own!!!!! and are hilarious!!! Chuck
  19. And the double hulled construction!!!! Would need lotsa' "Lizard Skin" also! The double shock absorber with nitrogen filled 8 ply tires. Talk about a custom!!!! Chuck
  20. I believe it can be safely said "that a great time was had by all" ! Chuck n Scotty
  21. Y'all just gonna' have to come down our way to see some. Lake Gleeson did put on a great show though. I am looking forward to your next gathering, wherever it may be!! Regards, Chuck
  22. It was a great group, nobody got pics of the kids n the marshmallows but it happened!! Phil n Denises kids were great and did a good job of supervising all the adults and they needed supervision!!!!! A great time was had by all and hope to be included in another gathering by these great Texans. Hope they'll make it to Fort Smith,Ark!! Thank you! Chuck n Scotty
  23. I'm not a hockey fan, so one of y'als gonna' have to get the mask, but I got a good idea where to get the camo boxers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And having had the pleasure of meeting this great couple,I'm pretty sure that nightvision film would not be needed!!!! See what ya' started StuartW????? All in hilarity!!, Chuck
  24. It's NOT a stripper pole???????????????????? Also great for helping old folks get out of bed!!!! Something to pull yourself up with! Chuck
  25. Bugeyedriver had a hole drilled thru tongue for another pin/lock. I have a ball lock that fits in the hitch but would be further enhanced by bugeyedrivers additional lock. A good ole NYCPD wheel clamp lock(used for illegally parked cars in NYC and brite yellow a definate deterrant!. If the bad guys want it bad enough, theyll get it! All ya can do is slow 'em down or go let 'em find an easier target! Chuck
