Zip ties allow me to just look up and see that nothing has changed at a glance. 👍🏻

I use zip ties and they have worked well for the last 4 years. Absolutely zero issues with loose knobs. I inspect them regularly and so far all good. I think @ScubaRx recommended just using a new bolt and nyloc nut and you never need to worry about loose solar panel knobs again.

I own a Casita and have camped solo for two years. I think I’m ready to look for an Oliver Legacy Elite II upgrade by August. Any advice for how to scope out a used one would be much appreciated!! I’m presently living in Texas. I hope to find something be with twin beds - with upgrades. Which ones are the most valuable?
Before plunking down between $60 and $80,000k depending on the YM you find:
If I were looking for a used Oliver, the first thing I would want to see is a detailed spread sheet of what maintenance was performed by who and when? This would include receipts for the work completed. If you are not familiar with travel trailers maybe hire a reputable RV inspector to check everything. Kinda think of it as purchasing a second home. These trailers are not overly complicated machines, but they do require a fair amount maintenance and care. I would suggest you take a look at the owners manual for the year model you are considering in Oliver University. This will give you a great start on what owners should be inspecting and maintaining. If you find a used well kept Oliver, you may want to call the Oliver Service Center and see if they have a record of maintenance on the Hull#. Of course this forum is full of really valuable information and a great group of owners to help you with your decision on purchasing new or used. Ask away!
When we purchased our Oliver new in 2020, our sales rep told us that the twin bed model is their most popular model/best seller.
Four years later as of yesterday we took delivery of Hull #634.We are convinced Oliver is the best Travel Trailer made and are grateful to own one.
All the best with your decision and happy hunting!

An excellent idea escaping the heat! The east cost is now under a so called “heat dome” as the media likes to package it.
D and the pups look pretty chill and relaxed. Great photos and it sounds like a great time Art!
Thanks for sharing the pics especially with old glory flying high!Rally on Brother! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Same closet rod connectors as @MAX Burner. I bet a quick call to Oliver Service would get you exactly what you need to install the closet bar. Oliver Service is great about shipping fairly quickly in my experience. 👍🏻

do any repair or simple replacement part. Given it’s a quality product, though have read of several Truma issues in many threads here.
Those of you who have service centers do installations and service work for you, OK…
Not me, my trailer my install. What happens when you have no AC or no HWH 600 miles and 5 weeks out on the service calendar of an Authorized Truma Service Center? Nothing, is the answer.
Your consolation is it’s not Dometic cr@p. Good luck. 🤣
My only point was that Truma is not likely going to sell the soft start to the general public. At least that is my understanding from the techs briefing at the rally. Of course this could change. I am not so sure what if any value your comment brings to this discussion since you don’t own a Truma AC and you have no dog in the fight.Just simply passing along some hopefully helpful information to assist another member about what I learned from the Truma tech and Oliver Service at the Rally.

Thanks so much. I just sent an email to Vintage Basecamp in Louisville KY, an authorized Truma installer. I will update the forum with their response.
At this year’s Oliver Rally the Truma Tech Dave Lehman announced at the Truma presentation that only Truma trained techs and Oliver TT Service Centers techs would be authorized to install the new Truma soft start on Olivers.
My SWAG is it may not be available for DIY installation as doing so will likely cancel out the soft start 2 yr factory warranty.

The Truma Soft Start device for the Aventa air conditioner is now available from the factory. I contacted Truma Headquarters and they scheduled their local factory mobile tech to do the install at my home in Scottsdale, AZ. The actual install took about 20 minutes. I ran it through several tests and I'm happy to say it performed perfectly. I'm now able to power my Aventa from a 15 amp outlet, a 20 amp outlet or my Honda eu3200i generator. Nice to have the option for Boondocking or Moochcamping. The generator is now able to run in ECO (auto load demand) mode, which enables it to run at a much lower rpm which reduces fuel consumption and noise level significantly. The unit cost $425 installed + travel time. It comes with a 2 year warranty.
I don't think they have mobile technicians available everywhere so check with the factory.
Johnny,
Thanks for the in depth update/report.
As an fyi: I spoke to Mike at Oliver Service this past week and they do not have the Aventa soft start available for sale and install yet.

Soo.. I have had great success! Between the vinegar and low pressure air in the line (about 25#) I was able to dislodge whatever was causing my blockage! Just so everyone knows, I'm by no means a first timer with RVs. I've had various trailers over the last 15 years and I'm not new to tools, compressors, trailers and trucks! (owned an excavating company with my ex) I have even done brakes and bearings on the ILOVHER. I don't however know much about electrical and plumbing, but I know enough to come here for expert help whenever something is outside of my field of knowledge! I thank you JD1923 for being up at midnight helping me out. I am very grateful and now have a handy tool for winterization or if this happens again.
I don't normally filter water from my house as I know my water source runs through a softener but anywhere else, I use one religiously. I do use a water specific hose that is stored and secured end to end so no real chance of bugs/debris.
I'm of the idea that my hot water tank may be backward siphoning or creating a vacuum and dragging junk into the cold line when draining the fresh water tank. I've read this on a few other RV forums so from now on, I'll just bypass before draining since I'm already under the bed moving the valve!
I annually change my anode because I know what it looks like when I remove it! To each his own but it is cheap insurance and not hard to do. I usually have some degree of anode degradation and the typical sludge that I flush and brush out. Water quality differs at every campground. I use magnesium over an aluminum HW anode.
Again, I'm super thankful to my Ollie fam for supporting me and getting me back into the woods!
Thanks again everyone!
Great work and you knocked it out! Now enjoy your trip! 👍🏻👍🏻

I believe @topgun2 recommended this mod to me early on. Just inside the door has proven to be a super handy place to hang our keys.
The shelf on top is where our mini flashlight lives.

Easy peasy Bill, a little pressure washing keeps tires looking great. 👍🏻 My TV 35” Nitto Ridge Graplers clean up nicely.

In 2020 when Oliver could no longer get the MIchelins they switched to Cooper Discoverer HT3 LT225/75R16. They have held up well for us. I am not sure what they are using today.
Agree with Ray,
We will likely replace with Cooper Discoverer HT3 LT225/75R16 if they are still available when we are due. We will likely replace our original tires next Spring. Our current set has served us well.

Solar Panel Knob FELL OFF- that Secure's Panel
in Ollie Modifications

I have had no issue with decomposition or cutting of my zip ties in 4 years post install. I do inspect them regularly when I wash our Oliver so far all good. Another reason for zip ties is most wire will usually rust. Rust stains eventually land on the roof. I suppose SS wire might work.
