We have been considering Starlink for our Oliver. I think this latest version of the new Starlink mini dish might really be worth a look and waiting for. With a much more compact/portable size and initial lower cost might be a viable option for our needs. It will be interesting to see how this new mini dish performs.

On the level Mod!! My good friend @JBurton suggested this leveling assist mod and we both placed an order today. The company is based right here in North Carolina ๐บ๐ธ and they also provide product support. Itโs a fairly basic install of a 3-axis digital accelerometer. Based on the strong reviews it appears to be a worthwhile product that will hopefully serve us well. We really like supporting USA small businesses when we can.๐บ๐ธ Link - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C28VJLG5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1d6l5u5zpQ0eqfAMrGD0R2K1lie99yvbOA2ZyyNV6Ar8CxyVNqkHZUoeg_aem_ZmFrZWR1bW15MTZieXRlcw A quick tutorial -

Solar Panel Knob FELL OFF- that Secure's Panel
Patriot replied to BoondockingAirstream's topic in Ollie Modifications
I have had no issue with decomposition or cutting of my zip ties in 4 years post install. I do inspect them regularly when I wash our Oliver so far all good. Another reason for zip ties is most wire will usually rust. Rust stains eventually land on the roof. I suppose SS wire might work. -

Zip ties allow me to just look up and see that nothing has changed at a glance. ๐๐ป -
Solar Panel Knob FELL OFF- that Secure's Panel

I use zip ties and they have worked well for the last 4 years. Absolutely zero issues with loose knobs. I inspect them regularly and so far all good. I think @ScubaRx recommended just using a new bolt and nyloc nut and you never need to worry about loose solar panel knobs again. -
Before plunking down between $60 and $80,000k depending on the YM you find: If I were looking for a used Oliver, the first thing I would want to see is a detailed spread sheet of what maintenance was performed by who and when? This would include receipts for the work completed. If you are not familiar with travel trailers maybe hire a reputable RV inspector to check everything. Kinda think of it as purchasing a second home. These trailers are not overly complicated machines, but they do require a fair amount maintenance and care. I would suggest you take a look at the owners manual for the year model you are considering in Oliver University. This will give you a great start on what owners should be inspecting and maintaining. If you find a used well kept Oliver, you may want to call the Oliver Service Center and see if they have a record of maintenance on the Hull#. Of course this forum is full of really valuable information and a great group of owners to help you with your decision on purchasing new or used. Ask away! When we purchased our Oliver new in 2020, our sales rep told us that the twin bed model is their most popular model/best seller. Four years later as of yesterday we took delivery of Hull #634. We are convinced Oliver is the best Travel Trailer made and are grateful to own one. All the best with your decision and happy hunting!

@MAX Burner An excellent idea escaping the heat! The east cost is now under a so called โheat domeโ as the media likes to package it. D and the pups look pretty chill and relaxed. Great photos and it sounds like a great time Art! Thanks for sharing the pics especially with old glory flying high! Rally on Brother! ๐บ๐ธ๐บ๐ธ -

@DunnYet Same closet rod connectors as @MAX Burner. I bet a quick call to Oliver Service would get you exactly what you need to install the closet bar. Oliver Service is great about shipping fairly quickly in my experience. ๐๐ป

All good jd! All good!

My only point was that Truma is not likely going to sell the soft start to the general public. At least that is my understanding from the techs briefing at the rally. Of course this could change. I am not so sure what if any value your comment brings to this discussion since you donโt own a Truma AC and you have no dog in the fight. Just simply passing along some hopefully helpful information to assist another member about what I learned from the Truma tech and Oliver Service at the Rally.
-
@Rolind @JBurton At this yearโs Oliver Rally the Truma Tech Dave Lehman announced at the Truma presentation that only Truma trained techs and Oliver TT Service Centers techs would be authorized to install the new Truma soft start on Olivers. My SWAG is it may not be available for DIY installation as doing so will likely cancel out the soft start 2 yr factory warranty.

Johnny, Thanks for the in depth update/report. As an fyi: I spoke to Mike at Oliver Service this past week and they do not have the Aventa soft start available for sale and install yet.

I believe @topgun2 recommended this mod to me early on. Just inside the door has proven to be a super handy place to hang our keys. The shelf on top is where our mini flashlight lives. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0154HAWHE?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 -
