Well, that was quick!!! Welcome back, Steve. Can't help with the wifi, but sure glad you stayed in the Oliver family. Gee, we missed you.... What took so long? Lol. Sherry

We've never needed a hand pump to winterize. Have we missed something? I'm curious. I know we have an older trailer.... PS I know we show a Florida address, but we winterize every year in NC., In the fall. Preventive What did we miss? And what should we add? Sherry

I never thought about trying my magma pans on my induction range. I just assumed that shiny stainless with aluminum core wouldn't work. I guess I'll give it a try.... Mine are an older set, though. Surprisingly, inexpensive and relatively lightweight IKEA 365 pans and pots work quite well on my home induction range, if someone wants to try induction, but doesn't have compatible (ferrous) cookware. Yesterday I walked through the Christmas decorations and gift items aisles at Sam's club. ( I know, over two weeks to Halloween...). One of the displayed items was an induction burner by copper chef pro, with an RV sized square (why?) Cute skillet included. For $69. I googled reviews later, and found the same induction plate, with skillet, for $49 on Sam's club . Com. I have no idea how good it is, and don't need one, but thought the price was pretty great. And the pan was cute. . Sherry

John, The tiedown with removeable pin are slick. How do you get the backer plate in the ceiling? Easy enough from cabinets, I guess. -

In the humid and often soggy Southeast, I dry everything outside. But, I guess in the more arid west this could work for you. Maybe something like a pair of spring loaded hatch pulls would work for you? This pair on eBay is really reasonable, but only 304 stainless. I'd want 316 near the saltwater, if I could find it... https://m.ebay.com/itm/SeaLux-Rectangular-Spring-Loaded-Lifting-Ring-for-Boat-Hatch-Pack-of-2-Small-/122612555423?_trksid=p2385738.m2548.l4275&_mwBanner=1 -

Reed, is the hitch height for the Elite the same as your Elite II? I can't find the hitch height in the literature for the newer elite 18.5. Thanks. Sherry

I deleted the duplicate. The double post has happened to many of us, including me. Seems to happen most often when I have a slow connection. I think something didn't post, and a minute later... I have two. I won't delete unless someone asks, because I can't bring the post back. Beautiful photos. Glad you are out and enjoying life in your camper, Kathy and Clair. Sherry

Third-Party Maintenance Facilities
SeaDawg replied to MDuncan's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Locally, we've had very little success with independent shops. However, I did have a great experience a few years ago with the new Camping World in New Port Richey, FL, when we had difficulty with our then new Dometic refrigerator. They handled all the warranty issues with dometic without our intervention. This crew did a great job. Very professional communication. We have not had other work done there Sherry -
I would love a big coffee mug like this, handle big enough for several fingers... With the Oliver logo on it... And that black Columbia fleece, canoe12... ???????? Sherry

Welcome to the forum, Steph and Steve. Lots of good folks here to help with any questions you may have. I was lucky enough to spend just a few days in Oregon last year. We look forward to another trip, and more time someday exploring your beautiful state. Sherry

I will always will miss Robert. A wonderful guy, and a great friend. Our heart, and our prayers, go out to his wife and sons. I don't even know how to say how I feel. I know this is a devastating time for your family. May God wrap you in his arms, and keep you.you know where we are, if and when we can help. All our love, and sympathies, Sherry and Paul

Are you staying end of October? Or did you stay there in September. Looks like a great spot. Airbnb reviews are good, but all the photos are really fuzzy... Thanks. Sherry

If you missed last night's harvest moon, take heart. It's quite beautiful tonight, as well. http://www.space.com/38381-space-station-crosses-moon-face-photo.html

Meriweather Lewis is also our favorite cg near hohenwald. The price is great ( free), but most of the time, we're the only or one of few in the cg. Admittedly, we are usually in the area in early spring or late fall... The sites are decent sized, the cg is lovely, especially in fall when the leaves are changing. Who needs hookups? Not Ollie owners. After that, I'm partial to fall hollow. Close to town, and the trail, and Neal and Shari are so very nice. And, Neal is an awesome cook. I rarely eat breakfast, but his breakfast is just so good. We've only spent one rainy night at 1000 trails, so not fair to comment. I'm not much for RV parks. Too many nice state park cg in an hour's drive. Sherry

Totally agree. I still love to have a paper map/ chart, and don't leave home/dock without them. Electronics always seem to malfunction at the worst possible time. As long as you keep the paper dry, a map/ chart works. And, it's not too old for changed conditions, new highways, etc.... Sherry

Legacy Elite II Dometic RM2454 refer

I thought the same thing about the stainless, actually. I'm going with black. I can change it out later, if we get the urge... to a fake stainless panel, but I'm about over that stainless appliance look anyway. The fingerprints make me crazy on some of our home stainless appliances. I'm only finding the DC only unit in right hand swing, but I don't think that's a big deal. It might actually make loading the fridge easier than the existing left swing door, when bringing in groceries. The left swing blocks the entance to the door. Since we prep and cook mostly outside, the right swing works for me. I'd honestly rather have drawers, and get up off the floor, but I just can't justify the additional price. Maybe on the boat. The classic, in black, DC only, isn't THAT much different in price than another dometic, gives me 15% more cooler space (though a dinky pocket sized freezer), and I can run it on silent, renewable solar instead of gas. I think it's a good compromise for us. Boaters love the Danfoss/Secor compressor, and I loved the ones we've used in foreign rentals... No worries about leveling, very durable and reliable. On the fence on the asu. I'm thinking the ~$125 smart controller may gain me as much in efficiency. On our boat, asu makes a lot of sense, though. Did you install one? Or do you think it's puffery? Usingthe classic in the trailer is a bit of a test on what we do next for boat refrigerator... Which has always been engine driven cold plate. Way oversized, and wasteful except on long cruises. At the moment, the Isotherm classic 130, dc only, is on sale with two major marine suppliers. I like the DC only as a, it's less money, b, we live on 12 volt, and, c, retrofitted smart controller is easier on the DC only model. Leaning towards the Isotherm. Love the reviews on the novakool, though. Sherry -

Happy to report, I'm home, have WiFi, And, I have my sidebar back. Thanks -
Google maps has a download feature that is helpful, but doesn't give voice instructions. I used it extensively in Iceland and the Faroes this year. Maps.me is free, and really quite good for offline use. At least in Australia... I used it in Canada, and the Faroes, too. It tracks your location with gps, whether you have cell signal or not.
