  1. We had the dark blotches on our window glaze also...(1st pic) Judging by the debris found in the track, it appears the PO never cleaned the glaze or removed them to clean the tracks (we've only owned our Hull #226 for a few weeks, FYI.). After soaking in bleach over night most of the blotches were dissolved, but the glazing still didn't look fresh. In addition, over time, the strips tend to shrink which caused 1/4" - 3/8" gaps on either end (see second pic). Decided to replace the glaze strips with new white ones... Could've gone black, but we'll see - maybe change them in a few years, who knows. There's definitely an "inside" and "outside" of the glaze strip to consider when installing. See pic #3 - the longer edge goes toward window ("inside")while the shorter lip orients to "outside." Pic #4: shows new glazing being installed into the window sill track... The plan is to simply keep the glaze strips on a regular maintenance schedule and keep them from "blotching" as long a possible. R&R of the strips was definitely an opportune time to clean out the debris collected in the tracks!
  2. Hey, Ollie - OK, that's hilarious. But as a previous AS owner, I've never encountered what looks like a fairly newish 25-foot Flying Cloud without Worthington tanks and a hitch jack! How did they attach that rig to the VW? Photoshop, maybe? Dunno... Still funny tho!
  3. Hey, SeaDawg: I'll pass on that paint job for awhile - there's way too many items on our "punch list" before a 2-tone job get's to the top of the list... Know what I mean? Regarding previous comment about "driving through sub-freezing conditions to get to warmer WX": We were winter camping in Death Valley at Furnace Springs (about 15 years ago) - I couple pulls in late in a brand new massive Class C coach on a Fruehauf chassis; water draining from multiple points beneath. Terrible sight. They had departed Kalispell many hours before and didn't understand their holding tank heating system (or maybe they didn't know they even had one). In any case, a half dozen or so plumbing fittings freeze cracked enroute and they didn't know there was an issue until hooking up next to us in DV. A nightmare for sure!
  4. I'm thinking a heating pad upgrade for the Ollie is a good idea (if you're into winter/cold camping). Amazon has several options for holding tank heating pads - thermostatically controlled, nominally "ON" about 40F and "OFF" at 68F.... Some of the brands don't get very good ratings, however. Here's one option with a "3-pack" of heat pads: https://www.amazon.com/Heater-Holding-Gallons-Toggle-Switch/dp/B07ZJJ7MB6/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=316H654FZVYJR&keywords=rv%2Bholding%2Btank%2Bheater%2Bpad%2B12v&qid=1679165067&s=automotive&sprefix=rv%2Bholding%2Btank%2Bheater%2Cautomotive%2C150&sr=1-2-spons&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.006c50ae-5d4c-4777-9bc0-4513d670b6bc&smid=A1V7TJOE3FVDYM&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExSVFMOUVOMTE2T1c3JmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzg4MTk1SzBLWFJWRlpXUkI2JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA1NzE0MzFHVEw5Q1hQQkdCQTgmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1 Just FYI...
  5. 😃 Congrats y'all! As former Airstreamers too, we really are impressed with both the wiring and plumbing design. We thought we'd miss the extra 6 or 8 inches in width, but not so much after all... Tows better than our 25-footer, for sure and for certain. Should I assume your connected with an Andersen? Enjoy your trip with your new rig! Best, Art PS: maybe consider some WWII Army Air Corps nose art... ha!
  6. M&C: concur - very interesting. I'm liking the two-tone paint option - wonder if Oliver has ever considered offering a 2-tone???
  7. Well, we finally collect our "new to us" Oliver this month!  Been searching for quite some time and found Hull #226 for sale.  Having owned 2 Airstreams and a Casita we feel the Oliver has 95%+ of the features we want in a TT.  We've both learned a lot lurking around the O Forums for almost 2 years now!  Looking forward to meeting other Ollie owners on the road and comparing notes...  Y'all travel safe!  A, D, and M (woof!)

  8. Mike & Carol - duh! That was easy - thanks again!
  9. Thanks! BTW: where did you find the US Map for your signature block?
  10. Welcome justjames! We recently joined also - Hull #226, we use the Proven Industries coupler lock as well. Good choice. QUESTIONs to the group: 1) What's an efficient and clean way to keep the Andersen chain assembly off the ground when parked? and 2) Where does one find the US map of "states travelled" for the forum signature block?
  11. Well, OH - It's borderline in the "Overkill" category - but what the heck will we use those locks for anyway, right? HA!
  12. Well, Patriot - I totally copied your great idea for the LPG tank crossbar wing nut & Springfield XD slide-lock mod... "Tanks" a lot, brother!
  13. FYI, I had 2 polished Worthington LPG tanks on my AS for over 15 years, secured by double-nutting the aluminum wing nut. Never lost one... The cable locked wing nut inside the Oliver Doghouse gives piece of mind, for sure! Most non-Oliver folks probably don't even know what's inside the Doghouse, anyway...
  14. That's most definitely a better use for the XD cable lock than it's originally designed purpose! That's most definitely a better use for that XD cable lock!
  15. Thanks! The Tundra matches up nice with the LE II so far... The gray/black tanks were empty & fresh water tank was about 70% on our way back from collecting the rig last weekend. Fairly brutal crosswinds all the way back home about 175 miles, but it pulled fine! Minimal sway (if any) with the Anderson. It'll be interesting to measure the tongue & axle weitghts after its loaded for our next trip.
  16. No name for the LE II, yet - but Diane will come up with something cute I'm certain...
  17. Back in our Airstream days we would do an annual run to Quartzite in JAN. Our friends owned a FG "Squarestream" trailer '92-ish in absolutely mint condition. Very rare and unique rigs. They owned it new from the factory. Interesting.
  18. Thanks to all for the "hearty welcome" to the Oliver family. We look forward to meeting y'all on the road... PLEASE NOTE CORRECTION: Our hull number is #226 not my typo-ed "#225" posted earlier. Anyhow, we collected our rig on Saturday in Roswell, NM... It was just all so "Alien" to me, ha! It's a perfect rig for us - Magnus, in particular, loves it (WOOF!). Even in moderate to high crosswind conditions, it towed fantastically with the Anderson WDH behind the Tundra for the 175-mile run back home yesterday afternoon. Here's what our "new-to-us" #226 looks like:
  19. Thanks, Martin - nice looking rig, brother! Here's our new rig after just getting it over the weekend:
  20. #225 is an EII, 2017. We're pumped! So - SeaDawg, USN Sailor?
  21. Hey, Ollies': Diane and I are long-time Airstreamers, however downsized in '21 to a Casita and just now dropped the hammer on Hull #225. We've been influence by our friends here in NM for several years about getting into an Oliver. We're planning on collecting our "new to us" rig early next month. We've been lurking around the Ollie Forums for over a year and look forward to meeting y'all either on the road or on the web! Stay safe out there - Best, A, D, and Magnus (Woof!)
