The memory stick that I use is a SanDisk Cruze Edge 64GB. When I copy music from my computer to the memory stick; I don't copy the album but I copy the song in the album. This method has proved to be successful with many devices that support a USB drive. However when I tried just to copy the entire album an paste it to a USB drive, there has been several devices that could not read the USB drive. But when I just copy the songs that I want then paste them to the USB drive I have not found any device that would not read the USB drive. Good luck.

Last night before I posted the above that the Furrion DV1200 radio in our Oliver Elite II does play music stored on a 64GB flash drive, I went out to the trailer to check the size of the flash drive and checked to see that it would play. The details of the flash drive comes up on the TV so you can select which ever song you want to play.

We use a 64GB flash drive in our Furrion DV1200 radio. Just to be sure I went and check it out before responding . No issues with the 64GB drive.

Routlaw: I assumed that both 120VAC and 12VDC were turned off due to your voltage readings in the first post. The data you provided shows an excellent battery life in storage mode. Since this is the first winter that we have had the Oliver I wanted to see how the battery voltage would decay without 120VAC supplied to the trailer. It appears with just normal equipment draw the battery voltage drops approximately 0.4VDC in about 10 days without a charge. I plug the trailer into 120VAC about every 10 days for a couple of days. So far everything is looking good. Thanks for the feedback.

We took delivery of our Oliver Elite II TT on September 2, 2015 and it has the Dometic Penguin II with heat strip installed. we were able to use the trailer for three weeks in September and an couple weeks in October. The unit worked great and was fairly quiet. In September we used the air conditioner and then in October we use the heat strip; both time the AC unit function great, with no regrets.

If you only turned the equipment (TV, Radio, Fridge, etc) off by their own power switches you would still have some power being used. To completely disconnect any 12 VDC from being used is to pull all 12 VDC fuses or turn the 12VDC disconnect switch to the OFF position.
-
Routlaw: I assume you did not leave the trailer plugged into 120 VAC for the winter storage. But did you turn the battery cut off switch to the OFF position, so there is no load on the batteries?

We are planning a trip in the summer of 2016 to New Orleans and are looking for campground suggestions. There are two campgrounds we have reviewed via the internet that appear to be in a safe location they are: New Orleans West KOA and French Quarters RV Resort. It has been several years since we were in New Orleans and things have changed so we are looking for suggestions; we like campground with full hooks ups.

With the front tongue jack lowered and the rear stabilizer jacks in place we don't see any need for additional jack towards the front of the trailer. There is very little movement of the trailer even on a windy day.

I have no details as how they calculated that weight limit.

Yes, long bar is removable so you can remove the spare tire cover. The long bar is held on with four 1/2 inch pins which I have a lock holding on one of the pins. Our trailer which was delivered on September 2, 2015 was the first to have this hitch installed. It only takes a few minutes to remove the long bar or reinstall the bar, if you don't have anything attached to the hitch. I plan on using it to carry our bikes using a Yakima Holdup Bike Rack. We used this same Yakima bike rack on our previous trailer and we had no issues. Also I constructed a generator carries that we use for our Honda 2000i generator and It traveled many miles on our previous trailer. Oliver placed a decal on the long bar for 150 lbs max load. Our bike rack and two bikes weight 122 lbs and our generator rack and generator with a few accessories weight is 125 lbs. So I see no issues with transporting equipment using this hitch that has been installed by Oliver.

Ridgwayk: I used the Equal-I-zer WDH on previous travel trailers and I think it is the best WDH on the market. However is does not work with the Oliver, so I had a Anderson WDH installed when I picked up the trailer on September 2, 2015. I have not experienced any issues with the Anderson; it smooth's out the up's and down's on the road which makes for a improved ride, plus adds a little extra protection when needed. I have been pulling travel trailers all over this country for over 40 years and would not pull any trailer the size of the Oliver without a WDH, but that is my opinion.

supplies for picking up Oliver
Maverick replied to lindapshields's topic in Mechanical & Technical Tips
Linda: When we pick up our Oliver on September 2, 2015 they supplied a 25 foot water hose and a sewer hose. We brought with us both of these items since we had them with our trailer that we sold. As for the ground supports for the stabilizing jacks (3) including tongue jack. You can use some type of wood apx 8" x 8" or we use the lego blocks which can be purchased from Wal-Mart. If I remember correctly the lego block comes in a set of 10. Good luck and happy camping. -
Over our 40 plus years of camping we have owned many travel trailers. The Oliver Elite II has been the tops on our list; we picked up the Oliver on September 2, 2015 and have enjoyed the trailer. It is just an outstanding fiberglass trailer second to none.

Linda: We picked ours up on September 2, 2015 and it is a quality trailer. So far we have enjoyed our Elite II; we did stay in Tennessee for a couple of weeks before returning home. So far no issues with the trailer. I know you will enjoy your trailer very much.

Bill: The Equalizer WDH would not work on the Oliver as to fiberglass cowling that is over the aluminum frame; without cutting the fiberglass cowling. That is about 1 ½” of space between the fiberglass cowling and the aluminum frame so the Anderson brackets fits nicely and they are behind a cross bar that supports the propane tanks so there is no walking of the WDH brackets. The Anderson brackets hang just below the aluminum frame and are fairly accessible. If you were using the Equalizer WDH the L bracket that the spring bar rest on would be hitting the fiberglass cowling. It appears to me if you were using a Equalizer WDH you would have to cut the fiberglass cowling just behind where you mounted the brackets that support the spring bars and it would have to be cut all the way forward to the very front of the trailer towards the ball coupler. When we picked up the Oliver we adjusted the Anderson “High Density urethane spring”; to have the trailer and tow vehicle pretty level. Each time we disconnect the trailer we just raise the tongue jack up high enough to have some slack in the chains, then we can remove the “Pin and clip that holds the Triangle Plate” on. This way the Triangle Plate removes easily and then you can disconnect the tow vehicle from the trailer. Just do the reverse to reconnect the trailer and tow vehicle. So far I have been able to have the trailer and tow vehicle at a straight angle to each other when disconnecting which makes the reconnection easy. Let me know if you have any more questions. Safe travels.

Tom: Maybe we can get together the next time we are camping in the Lexington / Natural Bridge area of Virginia. We do get out into that area several times a year. Safe travels.
-
Garyjona: We have reservations for the Lynchburg N/W Blue Ridge Parkway KOA for October 14 - 18, so I guess we will not be in the Lexington area on October 8 & 9. We live in the southeastern part of Virginia but love the mountains. Mike & Carol: Yes we did purchase the Anderson WDH and it pulls great using the Anderson. I have used various WDH hitches in the past and really like the Equal-I-zer the best but the Equal-I-zer would not work on an Oliver so the Anderson appears to be better suited for the job.

We took delivery of a 2015 Oliver Legacy Elite II travel trailer on 09-02-2015. For two nights we camped in Fall Hollow Campground located in Hohenwald, TN then moved around to various locations in Tennessee before heading east to Virginia, which we got home this past week, so it gave us a couple of weeks to check out the Oliver. We carried some items with us but waited until we returned home to load the trailer with the rest of the items we keep into the trailer full time. Attached are a couple of pictures of our Oliver.

Grayson and Ann: We are scheduled to pick our Oliver Elite II up on the first of September; we placed the order while we were at the factory in April. It has been a long wait but it is an outstanding trailer.
-
Trumpetguy: Let us know how the Atwood works out with the noise issue. I was on the telephone yesterday talking with Robert Partee at Oliver about the A/C noise issue with the Coleman Mach 8 units. He said they were getting in a Atwood unit next week for testing. Since our trailer is not schedule to be delivered until September 1, 2015; I would like to see a quiet unit installed and not go through the noise problem you have experienced. Kept us informed and safe travels.
-
Are there other individuals that own a Elite II travel trailer having noise issues with their Coleman Mach 8 air conditioning unit, other than Trumpetguy?

Oliver Elite II travel trailers are excellent units. We have the same trailer on order and should be ready in September.
