  1. I have a 2016 Toyota Tundra and there is no problem with opening the tailgate when the truck is attached to the Oliver Elite II.
  2. Last week I discovered that our MaxxAir Fan outside cover had a crack in the top center. According to the documentation that came with the fan the outside cover is covered by a life time warranty. I called the provided telephone number and was transferred once, the person I spoke with only wanted the serial number, which I provided. The replacement cover was delivered in three days, what a quality customer service. Has anyone had any issue with getting of the roof of their Elite II for any type of maintenance?
  3. This is the first time I can type anything in the Topic Title line in two months; hopefully it remain functional.
  4. Jason, I have had the same problem for months. I sent you a request about it a long time ago and it is still a problem.
  5. Last year when I had to replace the complete battery rack due to rail failures on both sides; I installed an aluminum 90 degree angle bracket mounted with 1/4 inch SS machine screw. Without removing this device the rack can not be moved out; but it only takes a few minutes to remove for battery maintenance. [attachment file=Battery Rack - security mod 1.jpg]
  6. John: Since I used a 3/4" SS flat washer under the 10-32 SS nut with nylon; I also only ran the nuts up evenly until one thread showed through the nylon. There was no deflection of the plastic cover using this method. The flat washer I use was thinner than the original flat washer. I agree with you that the original flat washer, lock ring and nut could be just ran up into the cover's hole; that is why I used a larger flat washer.
  7. I checked ours this morning and the same acorn nut was missing as in your picture. I replaced them with a 3/4" SS flat washer and 10-32 SS nut with nylon insert, this should take care of the issue. Thanks for the information.
  8. Don: Hopefully after our telephone conversations you have completed the signal booster installation or very close to completing the project. Good luck.
  9. Don: I also installed the TPMS Signal booster in the Propane Tank Compartment; there is no issue since the signal booster is in a weather protected box. I obtained the +12 VDC feed from the load side of the tongue jack; I just installed an inline fuse holder with a one amp fuse to feed the signal booster. The signal booster fuse holder is located next to the tongue jack fuse holder. As for the negative (or ground) lead, I connected it to the frame in the propane tank compartment. So far I have had no issue with the signal booster located in the propane tank area. I did remove the signal booster fuse for the winter months, during the our camping months, I just leave the fuse in place.
  10. KountryKamper: According to your July 2017 picture of the steel subframe; the U shaped steel frame looks to be about 12 inches longer than where the spring hangers are installed. On our 2015 Elite II the U shape steel subframe extends about one inches past where the spring hangers are installed. Because of this short distance there is no space where a jack stand could be placed on the subframe when doing maintenance on the wheels.
  11. When a trailer is carried into the Oliver Travel Trailer factory to have the wheel bearing repacked or any other type of work on the wheels, how do they lift the trailer?
  12. I agree with John's comments about this issue of lifting the trailer to change a flat time. Our trailer was picked up on September 1, 2015 and according to the documentation that was provided by Oliver Trailer Trailers; you should use the on-board jacks to lift the trailer to change the tire or do any maintenance on the wheel bearings, etc. Our trailers extended subframe is not long enough for any type of stand alone jack to be used. I have several emails sent to various individuals at Oliver asking the same question, what is the procedure for lifting an Elite II to do any type of maintenance to the wheels; so far no one from Oliver Travel Trailers has every responded to my request.
  13. Welcome to the ownership of a Oliver Travel Trailer; we are headed to Montana this summer, maybe we will run into each other.
  14. You need to check the grounding on your trailer, more than likely the ground from your tow vehicle is not connected to the trailer breaks ground side. If you read the beginning of this thread it will describe how to check out the grounding issue and also how to correct the problem. Since I corrected the grounding issue ON the Oliver Travel Trailer I have had no other issues. Oliver TT never sent anything out about their problem with the ground issue they created on the trailer. There is two problems with their ground connections: 1. The trailer breaks negative lead is not connected to the negative lead coming from the tow vehicle via the 7 pin connector. 2. The tow vehicle's ability to charge the trailers batteries when the tow vehicle is attached to the trailer does not work; again because of the defective grounding on the Oliver Trailer itself.
  15. GeoFish: I am glad you and your wife liked our trailer; good luck and safe travels.
  16. I was a IT/Telecommunication Manager, spent 17 years in Richmond after that they transferred me to North Carolina for a few years and then transferred me to Norfolk, VA where I spent the rest of my years with Dominion. Hopefully we will meet some place camping, good luck with you trailer.
  17. Paul and Donna welcome to ownership of a Oliver travel trailer. The Oliver Elite II is our 7th trailer we have owned and enjoyed traveling throughout the USA. What utility company is Donna retiring from? I retired 10 years ago from Dominion Energy and have enjoyed every minute.
  18. Yes, these are the correct fuses. The fuses that Oliver installed in our trailer was junk and were blown when we picked up the trailer. After purchasing and installing quality fuses like the Bussmann, we have had no additional problems. These are hard fuses to find in local hardware or electronic stores.
  19. The side navigation bar has vanished from my iPad, iPhone and windows PC's; plus there are several other issues.
  20. The correct socket size is 1 1/16 inches, best to use a six point socket, also I am not sure of the torque specs.
  21. I installed the new designed Anderson WD Hitch that I obtained from Sage; then we took a 10,000 mile trip out west for two months, we did not experience any noise. During the trip we hid some very hard rain at times and so far no issue with the upgrade, other than having to pay a $100.00 for it.
  22. We received a replacement fire extinguisher from Kidde on Saturday, December 2, 2017 via FedEx. The new extinguisher is a little shorter than the original unit and a little larger in diameter. They also included a new mounting bracket. Kidde sent a prepaid shipping label for the return of the recalled unit via FedEx. I replaced the extinguisher today including the new mounting bracket. There was no issue with the height but very close on the width due to the new replacement unit having a side handle for discharge. I checked several large box stores and they carry the replacement fire extinguisher that Kidde is sending out to replace the recalled units. What fire extinguisher is Oliver installing in its trailer today? In the future Oliver should make the mounting cavity in the closet door just a little wider and may be a little taller due to changes that are made with the fire extinguisher manufacturing. I have included pictures of the new fire extinguisher and one with it mounted in the Oliver. The replacement extinguisher is an improved unit over the recalled unit.
  23. Our tow vehicle is a 2016 Toyota Tundra 4 x 4 and the tailgate does NOT hit the hitch latch; we have apx 2 inches of clearance. We use an Anderson Weight Distribution Hitch set at it's lowest setting to have the trailer and truck to ride level.
